Sherrie and I are hooked on Vintage Cafe, have been there 4 times in 6 months, and have tried their omelettes, prime rib au jus, chef salad, liver'n'onions. Every entree has been perfectly prepared. The ingredients have been fresh, and not from processed ingredients. The old brick historic building and store-front is early 1900's vintage (hence the name), and the interior is rich in woods, tapestries and art. When everything is perfect, what's to say, more?... ...but we do appreciate moderate pricing for higher-class food dishes. The "Vintage" offers beer, wine and a full bar, with limited bar seating, or full restaurant seating. A sign at the front entrance tells the history of this building. See the pics. I wish i took pictures of the food, because it was AMAZING! I got the country fried steak and it was one of the besttt that i have ever had. The breading was super crisp and the country gravy on top had a ton of flavor. The potatoes it came with were seasoned and crispy as well! We decided to try a new place so we came here with some friends. Pros: the food was amazing! The plates were beautiful, the food was seasoned well, and the portions were a good size. The decor is so cool! The brick walls, historic photos, and natural light make a really cool aesthetic! Cons: The service wasn't the greatest. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating, but there were a few errors that were hard to ignore. For one, our bloody Mary's were made and delivered without vodka. She did realize fairly quickly and brought the shots separately for us to mix in. She offered to do it for us but at that point it was easier for us to do it. When she wanted to take our order she started and then told us she would be right back. She had to grab food from the kitchen and then she came back to take our order. Honest mistakes, but frustrating as a consumer. Lastly, since there is no formal waiting area, folks just gather in groups near the front door. It's not necessarily bad, but there is limited space. My husband had a gentleman lingering pretty close to his chair which makes personal space feel slightly invaded and like your privacy disrespected. The food was good so I would probably order out. I may consider dining in again but hopefully some of these things are improved by then. read more

This review is not for the food. We would have loved to try the food but we stood at the hostess area for 10 minutes while two ladies looked at us and never greeted us. We were dumb to wait that long but I wanted to give them a chance since they looked understaffed. After I waved and said hello and the server walked by me and ignored me and at a third person came out of the kitchen and didn't say anything either we left. My wife and I were looking for a breakfast place that opened early. Vintage Cafe fit the bill. Free street parking can be found. Credit cards are accepted. Live music is offered Thursday-Saturday. Early Bird dinners are offered daily from 3pm-5pm. Happy Hour is offered daily from 3pm-6pm. The building in old and unique. Indoors is outfitted with a variety of different shapes and sizes of oak tables. A full bar is offered with extremely limited bar seating. On the morning of our visit, Vintage Cafe was filled with families and their young children. While looking over the menu, my wife ordered a Red Beer (Coors Light) for $3.25 and I ordered a Bloody Mary for $6.25. The Bloody Mary was bland, missing the standard garnishments and over-priced. My wife and I shared the Vintage Scramble for $12.99: ham, bacon, sausage, mushrooms and potatoes. We chose the English muffin as our bread choice. Our breakfast was small for the price and average in flavor. Service was friendly but slow. Overall, Vintage Cafe will not be our breakfast choice again in the future; however, I am interested in returning for live music and dinner at some point in the future. read more

I usually go here for lunches with my mates, and I think this place is pretty decent. Good food, great vibes, a little loud, but the service was above average. I ordered a Deluxe burger and fries. I really don't know why I keep coming back here. Maybe the great original brick walls inside and out. The lady on the swing hanging high collecting dust with the beautiful mirrored bar back nearby. This has been a go to for the people of Everett for what seems forever. Years ago, the food was not so bad, now... been bad since Covid started and continues today. Ordered steak rare....Crispy dark brown on the outside and med-well on the inside. Took so long to get my food that I decided not to spend more time sending it back. You typically get to choose from Hash Browns (which always seem to be cooked to perfection here, and they were) or the Potatoes. Today I got the potatoes which were drenched in oil and kind of a brown in color. Not sure if they were old or just over cooked and reconstituted with water. But this completely reminds me of every time I eat here. Always the food is hit or miss. This time the potatoes and the steak. Last time the eggs. Next time??? Who knows!?!? Maybe I will order a glass of water and end up with only the oxygen (empty glass). read more

Early in the day there's tons of parking, later in the day less, but theres a parking garage down the street. 2. Staff are friendly 3. Cool lamps 4. Biscuits and gravy is decent 5. French Toast is pretty good Cons: 1. Bathrooms are gross with poor ventilation for that urine soaked smell 2. Perpetually understaffed. 3. Portion size does not represent price charged 4. Food is slightly above average. 5. Charge you a percentage of bill to use a debit card 6. Server smelled intensely like alcohol. 7. Bacon and sausage the standard run of the mill cheap stuff from the grocery store, thin almost fast food bacon. So I understand that Washington has sales tax as well as a much higher minimum wage that most of the country. Any fee you charge me at the table will cost you in the long run with losing me as a customer, and a steer clear recommendation to everyone I know. Your overhead should be covered in the price you charge for food, not an itemized line on my bill at the end of the meal that I need to pay on your behalf. We came by here on an early very rainy and wet Sunday to have breakfast. It was the closest place to us as we were going for a walk. It looks like a small place from the outside but as you enter there are more inside than what you can see from the window from the street. The tables and their bathrooms were very clean. However, due to age of the building, it smelled of cat pee at first but I guess you get used to it. Ha! Never thought I'd ever say that! This has a vintage ambiance with a bar located near the back. We ordered your standard breakfast faire of bacon, eggs, and potatoes with toast. I had the small version and my hubby had the regular portion. The breakfast was ok -- nothing special. The service we received was excellent -- very attentive and friendly staff. Overall, we had a nice time but it's not a place I would crave to come back to. read more

I came to Everett early in the morning and did my normal search for a place I could have a good breakfast, coffee and hang out for while. I really didn't see Vintage Café on the list of places for breakfast on the first page of the list; was about to go somewhere else. But, my friend recommended it as their favorite place to eat in Everett, so I had to check it out. Located in the central downtown area there's quite a few choices for breakfast in this area. There's some street parking, but I got dropped off with Lyft. The ambience is really good here and the brick work and lofted ceilings are just incredible. This is a place you can easily relax, very comfortable to just sit around drinking coffee for a while. I saw a table of a few retired gentlemen just chatting away sharing time together which is a good sign. The Vintage Café has a full menu even in the morning and of course a lot of breakfast meals; all the combinations of eggs, meats, biscuits, gravy, pancakes; the full works. I was tempted by the biscuits and gravy, but ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs that came with some potatoes that were cubed up and grilled in a skillet or such. All the food was good and I ate it all leaving just some the of potatoes as there's a lot of food. But, the meal was just kind of meh, not bad, nor fantastic; middle of the road; you can compare it to many breakfasts you've eaten before. I found my coffee cup was never more than half empty and the service was attentive, they asked how the meal was and not rushed; I could have spent 2 hours just sipping coffee; of course I'd be overdosing on caffeine by then. I'd come back to Vintage Café and try more of the offerings here as the food and service is solid. This space has great atmosphere and love the ambiance of the vintage building. read more

We met friends for lunch there last week. We had never been but our friends had been there before. Was right at noon so not packed but busy. We were served in a timely and pleasant manner. Waitress was very nice. Food ehhh! I had a hamburger and it was good, husband and one friend had Reubens and it was really sub standard. Soggy bread, it just slide apart and was not good. I would have sent it back but they decided to deal with it. I don't remember what the other friend had. It is a charming place but we won't go back. Stumbled upon this cute cafe after Funko visit. Unique interior with stained glass windows, lamps and brick walls. The location is good for the businesses on the block. Nice spot for casual breakfast, lunch or dinner. They also have live band. The food was ordinary but comforting, reasonable prices and friendly service. read more

I took the day off to celebrate an important day, marking my surviving a surgery that should have killed me, but I'm still kickin' and thought breakfast out would be good start, having someone else cook for me, I've eaten at the Cafe before, and had good meals, but today was another matter. I ordered the Chicken Fried steak and eggs, it came out in good time, but the toast came looking like only got toasted on one side, and then buttered on the toast untoasted side, and it was cold, the home fries were lukewarm at best, and they put sausage gravy on the steak? They serve biscuits and gravy but she didn't offer to fix any of it, I had to go home and fix myself breakfast which I was trying to avoid! We enjoyed breakfast/lunch today at the Vintage Cafe. I had the soup and salad combo. The soup, jambalaya was hot and very flavorful. The salad was crisp, tasty and had great additions of cheese, olives and croutons. My spouse had breakfast of pancakes with scrambled eggs. She really enjoyed the pancakes. Our server was fantastic. It's located in a nice historic area. You seat yourself which was interesting for first time visitors. The staff are friendly but may be new or overwhelmed as our server wasn't sure what the difference between a couple dishes were and seemed a little stressed. The food was delicious! Went here today, our second visit in a "yearish" since covid. Service is HORRIBLE, as it was BEFORE covid.... expect to wait 30 minutes to an hour for just a side dish! No one seats you....just yells behind the bar "how many?" (As it matters, as they say pick a table...huh????" Why even ask how many? Service is painfully slow and so are the wait staff, most are new and have no idea what's on the menu. Our order came out wrong after waiting 45 minutes...not even close to what we ordered? Maybe someone else's? Then waited another 20 minutes for our corrected meal??? Huh? Came Here for a mid day work luncheon. First things first, they serve sweet tea. Which is a major perk. Secondly- they had a jambalaya soup option. It wasn't spicy and generally lacked the flavor you'd expect down south. Lastly, the rueben was served well in every way except the portion of corned beef. One thin layer of meat does not make a restaurant sandwich. Pretty good place, not far from 5 stars, but still not there. You can do better within walking distance. read more

The place has been through 3 different owners since opening way back when, been through a few upgrades and remodels. Food was comforting and made to order, would have given 5 starts but it was hotter than hell in there and would have given the devil a run for his money, service was outstanding, the ladies were hustling and bustling in the heat. This was a local favorite of mine for a couple of years up until today. After working and eating breakfast here on many occasions during that time, I was told today, "We aren't a cafe so we don't want people here for hours. We are trying to turn over tables.". Hmm, "Vintage Cafe"... my English must be broken since I thought "Cafe" was right there in the name. However, I get it - you're a mediocre dinner in Everett full of low quality dinners who clearly doesn't want my patronage. The incredibly revealing part of being told I can no longer work there is the "trying to turn over tables" part. I'm glad I'm viewed as just a table to be turned over. The ridiculous part is that it's only been busy once or twice for a lunch rush while I was there and I have moved both times to free up my table. Most of the time there are multiple 4-6 tops open for any group while I am there eating, drinking, and working (which was the case today). I have always been polite, courteous, tipped very well, and was taken aback to be treated as just an insignificant check. It will now be a priority to tell everyone I know and meet in Everett how I was treated at the Vintage Cafe and dissuade them from patronage at this establishment. read more

The waiter we had was very friendly and gave us great service. The decor was adorable and definitely a vintage feel. Food was your typical American cafe style but generous and tasty. Only thing is they missed my daughters avocado on her sandwich and literally brought out one teeny tiny slice, maybe an eighth of an avocado on a plate for it. read more

We ended up here by happenstance while on a road trip. It was the day after Thanksgiving, and everything else was closed. That worked out to be a good thing for us. We had a late lunch of deep fried cod, and it was delicious! The plate came with well executed deep, fried cod, creamy coleslaw, yummy grilled buttered bread and terrific fires. I am a French fry snob and these were definitely worthy! Long and thin for good surface area and a crispy crunchy coating. Yumm. The ambience was clean and cozy. Service was excellent. Visited this place for the second time. First experience was not great at all. Went in for breakfast after reading some good reviews. Stood at the door, was not greeted at all. Another party walked in and not one person looked up. After standing there looking silly for 10 minutes we left. Maybe just an understaffed off day? I get it, I worked customer facing for a long time; so happy to give benefit of the doubt. Went there again recently and everyone there moves with complete lack of awareness or urgency. Not to mention the girl who was our server had a horrible attitude, like we were holding her up from something far more important. From what I observed that day all but one of the staff members had this sour, grumpy attitude. It was an impatient, 'can't be bothered to listen to you' demeanor. Food was just ok. They're fortunate they have locals and frequent patrons that continue. Spend your time and money somewhere with better food and service people. read more

We usually go out to breakfast every weekend. One rainy morning we decided to try the Vintage Cafe. Limited street parking is available. Breakfast menu selections were limited - in comparison to our normal stops. We ordered omelets. They prepared a good omelet for breakfast, with sufficient toppings. They accommodated our request for shell eggs, and it was obvious that they used a nice grade of cheese - and plenty. My spouse was taken back by the severely stained coffee mug, and possibly not chilled creamer. Overall we consider this restaurant to be OK, but not our first choice. read more

We've been trying to support local businesses during this time and Vintage Cafe was on our list. We ordered the monte Christo sandwich, pot roast and surf and turf. Hands down the pot roast was our favorite and something we'd all get again. The surf and turf steak was a little tough but the shrimp were delicious. Lastly, we've had their sandwiches before and they're all really good. It's comfort food and we love the homemade soup. We would definitely recommend! So we decided to check out the Vintage Cafe super cool place awesome vibe.. loved it until ... It took forever for her to take our lunch order Then she brought out our order and delivered it to the wrong table... the waitress went back to the kitchen Then came out and grabbed our order of these other peoples table And put it on our table!!!
