Absolutely exceptional and the BEST for wedding gown alterations! Due to a customs issue, both my…read morewedding ceremony and reception dresses arrived only 4 weeks before the wedding and both dresses required a lot of work. I had heard good things about Chayban and decided to see if they could pull off a miracle. Truly, they went above and beyond! The attention to detail and the level of execution were superb, which given the time constraints is all the more impressive. The reception dress required a complete redesign of the top. They took my idea and made it look like the dress was designed that way. Which again, is all the more impressive given that they only had four weeks to pull it off. I will be using them for all of my alternations and tailoring needs and I can't recommend them enough!

It fit well through my ribs and chest, but needed to be taken in around the hips and lower part of the dress, as well as shortened. I called ahead, and they told me to come in with no problem. They had me try the dress on, carefully pinned and marked everything, and explained that it would be ready in about a week. When I picked it up, the alterations were beautifully done. After getting home, I realized there was one small thing I wanted to adjust about the way the bottom of the dress was laying. I called, and they immediately told me to bring it back whenever was convenient. They fixed it for me while I waited, and I was so impressed by how thorough they were. They had me try it on multiple times, making little tweaks until it fit absolutely perfectly. They never made me feel like I was inconveniencing them, and they didn't even charge me for the additional adjustment. Everyone was incredibly kind, patient, detail-oriented, and genuinely wanted to make sure I left happy with the final result. The dress fits like it was made for me! I couldn't be happier with their work and will absolutely be coming back the next time I need something tailored. Highly recommend!

Some people come into your life for a season, and somehow leave a permanent mark on your heart…read more Rema is one of those people. I started my wedding dress alterations with Rema an entire year before my wedding. At the time, I thought I was simply finding someone to alter my dress. I had no idea I was also gaining someone who would become such a special part of this entire journey. From the very first appointment, Rema made me feel comfortable, beautiful, and completely at ease. She never just saw a dress that needed altering. She saw me. She listened when I was being hard on myself and reminded me not to pick apart my body in my dress. She was always my cheerleader, always encouraging me, and always making me feel like I was exactly where I was supposed to be. She altered my girls' dresses, too, and somehow every appointment became more than just a fitting. There were conversations, laughs, reassurance, and so many little moments that I know I'll remember long after my wedding day is over. And then came wedding week. I had lost 8 pounds and suddenly my dress was WAY too big. I called Rema completely panicked, convinced my dream dress wasn't going to fit me anymore. Without hesitation, she took on my last-minute crisis and, in LESS THAN 24 HOURS, worked her magic. She made that dress fit like it was made specifically for me. But what she really did was give me back my confidence at a moment when I was panicking. She made me feel beautiful. She made me feel safe. And she helped make one of the most emotional days of my life even more special. I am so incredibly thankful that I got the chance to know her. And if I'm being completely honest, one of the things that makes me a little sad about my wedding being over is knowing I won't have a reason to see her all the time anymore. Rema, thank you for being so much more than my seamstress. Thank you for being my cheerleader. Thank you for listening. Thank you for believing in me when I was struggling to believe in myself. Thank you for putting your heart into every stitch and making my dress everything I dreamed it would be. You have an absolutely beautiful soul, and your passion for what you do is something truly special. I feel so lucky that our paths crossed during such an important chapter of my life. I will always remember that when I was getting ready to marry the love of my life, there was a woman behind the scenes who helped me feel beautiful enough to walk down that aisle with confidence. And that woman was you. If you need ANY alterations, please go see Rema at Maurice Tailors. I cannot recommend her enough. She has been an absolute dream, and I am forever grateful that I found her. Thank you, Rema, for making my dress perfect. But more importantly, thank you for making me feel perfect in it.

I was warned about Davids…read moreBridal, where I purchased this gown, that they would charge exorbitant rates, so i tried to find another tailor. I was told by this tailor and his wife that yes they could absolutely do what I wanted done to the gown (high/low look), and a couple minor adjustments, to the tune of 334.00$. I agreed thinking Davids would have been more, and was considering myself lucky to have found the right shop. I couldn't have been more wrong. I was called back to the shop three weeks later, (32 days before my wedding), to be told that aaaaa no, they couldn't actually do what they said they could. It's too labor intensive. I panicked at this point with my wedding so close, and called Davids bridal to beg their forgiveness and fix my dress in time. They agreed to my immense relief and are altering my dress as I write this. Turns out Collana's tailor cut far to much of the tulle off the underskirt of my dress, and really messed it up. I was shown the problems they created by the seamstresses at Davids and was told to demand my money back. Thank god they can fix it enough to be wearable. Beware of using this tailor, and if you do...best of luck to you, which was his parting words to me

I was able to find something in my size but the gown still needed to be taken in and up to fit me properly. I called Ilana at 5pm on the Tuesday before my wedding on Saturday looking for a miracle. Despite her being in the middle of busy wedding season, she graciously offered to help me and told me to come on in. Ilana was so kind and warm in person and her attention to detail was noticeable. She fitted my gown to me perfectly, had me try the dress with and without a bustle and even had me come in for a second fitting before finalizing the cuts - who gets a second fitting when they come the week of their wedding?! Last, I chose to wear my gown with a wrist strap. The wrist strap on the original dress was made of plain ribbon and Ilana asked me if she wanted her to cover it with fabric, given the time I said not to worry about it. When I put my dress on on my big day, the wrist strap was made of the lovely fabric of the rest of my gown - I was overwhelmed by Ilana's generosity and attention to detail to ensure my gown was perfect even though we were working on a very short timeline. If you're looking for a low stress, tailor who can meet a deadline, find someone else. I started…read morewith a bridesmaid dress in March and it was finally done 6 days before the wedding I needed it for in September. That feels like far more time than needed. I had my dress taken in, hemmed and without discussion she put in these clasps to hold up bra straps. At the time I thought the idea was nice, but the reality of wearing the dress for 9+ hours, the fabric used rubbed my shoulders so bad I have scrapes where it rested. The original price quoted was $50, we talked about hemming in my first appointment, get to the end to pay and she charged me another $20 because it needed to be hemmed more. I feel like that's on you, for not hemming it right in the first place, and we didn't discuss an additional charge. The first appointment she wasn't writing anything down, I asked her too, she said she would remember. Well each appointment after that either nothing was done or all the changes weren't done and I had to keep coming back. And with each appointment, it was rescheduled due to changes not being done on her end. One appointment she texted the bride to say we needed to reschedule, not me, even though we had a group chat and she had my number. So I showed up for my appointment, and she made it my fault asking why I was even there. Well when you don't communicate, people tend to show up for appointments they have. The work was a 7/10, not bad, but it certainly wasn't amazing out of this world. And for all the time and rescheduling I would have expected a near perfect product, without scratchy fabric. For the bride I was with, she wanted a heart sewn into her dress from her mom's dress on the slit of her dress, this was discussed at 2 appointments. Again nothing was written down she insisted she would remember. We came to her last appointment, 6 days before the wedding. And the heart was sewn into the bust. While I understand the idea and it's nice, it's not what the bride, who's paying for this service wanted. When she asked her to put in another heart she came into the room (bride was upset and stressed) she grabbed the dress, turned around, slammed the dressing room door and yelled Jesus Christ and went back into her sewing room. She later apologized but I'm confused how you're upset at us, the customer, for your mistake. Over all it could have been a great experience, and it just wasn't. Then getting an up charged not discussed, and attitude at the end I could never recommend or go back.
