Beware! The quality of service is hit-or-miss, and customer service is virtually nonexistent…read more My daughter needed a dress shortened because it was so long that she risked stepping on it and tripping. Before leaving the shop, she tried the dress on, and we immediately noticed that it was still too long. When I politely pointed this out to the owner, she responded in a rude and aggressive manner. I was completely taken aback because I simply wanted to address the fact that the dress had not been shortened enough. She claimed that I had approved the length when she pinned it. However, during the fitting, I specifically asked her to shorten it a little more so that the tips of my daughter's toes would show and there would be no risk of her stepping on the dress. After seeing how she reacted, I decided not to continue the discussion. I figured I'd pay the $80 alteration fee and figure out a solution on my own. Unfortunately, while I was paying, the situation escalated when she continued yelling at me. Whenever I tried to calmly explain the situation to her, she repeatedly interrupted me and would not let me finish a sentence. When I calmly asked her not to interrupt so I could explain my concerns, she walked away, went into the back room, and ignored me. The alteration itself did not meet the specifications we discussed, and the owner's behavior was completely unprofessional. I found myself being summoned internationally for a 10 day work trip on a moment's notice. Of course, many things I wanted to take with me were sitting in my dry clean pile, as I had been working from home for weeks with no call for my higher end clothing. Drat! What to do? I called my regular cleaner about possible same day service or even two day service and was told that was a "no go." So much for my 20 plus year's of business. So, to Yelp I turned and happened upon Colvin Cleaners. They told me they regularly do same day service as long as the garments are there by 10:30 am and that I could expect them back at or before 3 pm. Eureka!! I drove like a mad woman straight there from the southern tier and arrived at 10:32 am. Despite my tardiness for the 10:30 deadline, the counter staff was very friendly, bright and cheerful and greeted me with a "how can we help?" They set up an account for me, checked in my items, and told me I could expect a text when the dry cleaning could be picked up, all in under 5 minutes! I decided to run errands while in Buffalo for my trip. Sure enough at about 2:30 pm, I got a text informing me my clothes were ready.
