I found myself being summoned internationally for a 10 day work trip on a moment's notice. I called my regular cleaner about possible same day service or even two day service and was told that was a "no go." So much for my 20 plus year's of business. They told me they regularly do same day service as long as the garments are there by 10:30 am and that I could expect them back at or before 3 pm. Eureka!! I drove like a mad woman straight there from the southern tier and arrived at 10:32 am. Despite my tardiness for the 10:30 deadline, the counter staff was very friendly, bright and cheerful and greeted me with a "how can we help?" They set up an account for me, checked in my items, and told me I could expect a text when the dry cleaning could be picked up, all in under 5 minutes! I decided to run errands while in Buffalo for my trip. Sure enough at about 2:30 pm, I got a text informing me my clothes were ready. If you dropped off before 11am, they could have it ready the same day at 3pm. Their prices are also competitive. Some outsource some of their cleaning, but these folks obviously do it in house. I didn't need the rush service, but they had everything ready the next day without an issue. I picked it up today and it all looked great. It was about $50 for the 2 suits, a reinforcement and 3 dress shirts, which I thought was relatively reasonable. The clothes look great from first glance. I went in dropped off my thick jacket on Sunday morning, asks for dry clean, prespot for stains and sew up a small tear on left sleeve. Was asked to pickup by Wednesday evening, received a text stating it is ready for pickup today which is one day earlier, I was excited to see my jacket being clean and fixed. But after I pickup and went home, I found almost all stains are still there, the small tear on left sleeve is fixed, but I sent the jacket there mainly because I want it to be cleaned, or I could have just save $17 and sew that little tear by myself... Have to say I'm disappointed. Update on 3/3: So they reached out to me as soon as yesterday, apologized for the process mistake they made and offered me to bring the jacket in for a proper clean this time. I attended a fund raiser for Autism and won a gift certificate to Colvin Cleaners for $100! I decided to use it to have my living room drapes cleaned and pressed. These drapes were very stained because our elderly dog loved sleeping up against them. They came back perfect, and look brand new again. I got the white glove treatment as well. The drapes were taken down by a specialist, who delivered them to the cleaners. He returned a week later and rehung them, and steamed all the wrinkles out in place. They are beautiful! Green. It's the only green dry cleaner in Buffalo. We have gone to them for many many years and so far so good. You can drop off at the location on Elmwood or they will pick up and drop off laundry from your home. They do all types of clothes cleaning. I wish I had thought to post this review a year ago, but I was not really avid Yelp user then. This is about my experience having a wedding dress altered at Colvin Cleaners. Originally I had not gone to Colvin to have my dress taken in, shortened, bustled, and fixed. I went to another "highly recommended" tailor in the area. That tailor left me over $300 shorter with a dress that still didn't fit properly. So in desperation I started looking at other places. I ended up at Colvin because it was close to home and pretty reputable locally. I wish I could remember the name of the woman that does wedding dresses there, because she was fantastic. She got me in right away for a fitting. She redid the bustle, evened out the hem, took it in more around the bust, and added cups. It only cost me about $180 for all of this and it was done in under 2 weeks. During that time I was in several times to try the dress on again, with shoes and accessories, and we made sure that everything was perfect. My only regret is that I did not just come here first, and I would highly recommend them to anyone that asks in the future! read more

Great Customer Service but the prices are expensive and no initiative to go above and beyond. I brought a pair of pants in to have it shortened. My pants were ironed before I brought them in but when the I picked up my pants, they were super Wrinkled. The pants were shortened nicely but why would you not press them before you return it back to the customer?? Why would you return a pair of pants wrinkled? When I asked the counter representative, she stated that would be an extra 7 dollars to have it pressed. I explained that I brought them in perfectly ironed. She just replied "everything is extra." I took a coat here two days before Christmas to have it cleaned by Christmas, and it did get done! However, part of what needed to happen was to have fuzzies from my scarf removed. That didn't happen so much. Yes, it is now in much better condition before, but it is still somewhat littered with white bits of scarf (which stands out on a black coat). Maybe they couldn't get them off? But that seems unlikely. They weren't too expensive, though, and they are supposedly a green dry cleaners, so those are good things. My husband's grandmother passed away on a Wednesday, and he had no suit jacket to wear to the wake and funeral. We went to the men's shop and purchased one, but the sleeves were ridiculously long (my hubby's built like a chubby hobbit.) The manager at the men's shop pinned the sleeves up for him and recommended Colvin Cleaners for tailoring the sleeves and sewing the decorative buttons back on. I brought the shirt in at 8 am Thursday morning, and said I needed it ASAP. The lady at the counter said "Monday after 5 ok?" I said "No, I need it tomorrow." She said "After 5?" I said "I need it for a 2 pm wake." She rushed it for a 12 pm pickup Friday, which would have been fine. I got an email at 3 pm Thursday (only 7 hours after I dropped it off) that it was done! And the sleeves look fantastic! Not a rush job half-assed like you'd probably get other places. 10/10 you just have to be very clear on exactly when you need it done. read more

What drew me to them was the fact that they're the only green cleaning service in the area, and I do not feel like having cruddy detergent being used to clean my clothes! First, there is always someone greeting you when you walk inside, making you feel welcomed and acknowledged. I have never had a line either, so I'm usually in and out within a few minutes. Once you give your phone number, you're all set! The pricing is fair. I am pleased with their service - my dress clothing is always ready earlier than expected and they have never damaged my clothing. Also, the store itself is very clean, so they mean business! They will not hem pants unless they are 2+ inches too long. Dropped off a pair of 30" pants (brought a pair of 29" for reference). Colvin had the pants for a week, received call 2 hrs before pickup that the pants were the same size so they weren't hemmed. What the..... Should've known better, I tried once before on a diff pair to get them to hem about an inch (maybe 1.5")..... lady wouldn't do it then either. read more
