Womp womp womp. I was a little skeptical to drop off my husband's suit here just based on the not so hot yelp rating. I ended up dropping it off anyway because we were recommended by a family friend. Originally, the woman at the counter said that they would not be able to have to suit done until Monday. I mentioned that I needed it for tomorrow and she went in the back to check with the cleaners, and then she came back out and guaranteed that it'd be done by 5pm today. To give them a little extra time, I stopped in around 5:50pm to pick up my items. The girls at the counter were very friendly. However, on the suit jacket and the dress shirt were ready and they told me the pants wouldn't be ready until Monday because all of the cleaners went home early. I'm not too sure why all the cleaners would go home early without all of the orders being done. Also, there was no manger on staff for me to speak with to resolve the issue. So, I asked for the pants back at least so that I could wash and press them at home. The girls couldn't find the pants... so I had to wait nearly a half hour before they could find them. When I asked if I could get a refund on the pants because they weren't complete, the girl mentioned that only managers are able to provide refunds. The only upside of my visit was that the staff was friendly and respectful. Unfortunately, the cleaners simply weren't efficient. read more

In an urgent need of Same Day Service in Buffalo even my own Cleaner (Urban Valet on Lexington) could not help me with a high priority special suit cleaning/pressing and shirts. I had two experiences here: One good, one bad. The good experience was a dress with a high neck that I wanted lowered. The tailor did an excellent job. The bad experience was with a jacket that had food grease on it. I brought it in the day of the stain. They didn't get ANY of the stain out yet still charged me $17.00. For nothing but wasting my time and letting the stain set. Thankfully another cleaner got the stain fully out. read more

While their prices are fair and their alterations are excellent, I do wish they could get the cat fur out of my comforter better. Oh well. I used three of there services. Wash and fold, dry cleaning, and alterations. The employees were nice. The store was clean. The clothes and dry cleaning were ready a 5pm the same day. Wednesday. The alterations were ready the next day. They did loose and then find two pairs of my pants from my wash and fold pile. They were very responsive about the pants and found them as soon as possible, I was able to pick them up on Thursday. What really stood out for me was that, when I called on Wednesday evening about the pants, the employees on Thursday morning knew about them and looked for them, and found them. I love this place and will be using them in the future. read more

I needed a dry cleaner, bad. I have this bad habit of packing poorly, which results in outfits being shoved haphazardly into the suitcase and coming out rather wrinkled... and since I basically refuse to iron, the dry cleaner becomes my savior. I tried to find some solid reviews for dry cleaners in the area, but wasn't really impressed with what I read. So, the next logical step was to ask local friends. More than one person suggested Wesslemann's and I figured that was probably my best bet. Here's the thing: there was nothing exceptionally wonderful about my experience, but there wasn't a single *bad* thing to say either, so... I guess, by default, it was a good experience. It's not like I was getting my wedding dress cleaned and boxed, just a blazer and a couple shirts. The clothes were ready when they said they would be, they came back to me looking and smelling good. I hate to leave a bad review, especially because I strongly support and respect local small businesses. But my experience here was just plain bad. I came to have a bridesmaids dress cleaned that I was borrowing from somebody. A young girl came over to help me and acted like I was a nuisance to her and was probably just having a bad day I can understand that. I explained to her I was taking the dress there to get a stain out at the bottom of it. I pointed it out but don't think she even looked at it. If you pre-pay with cash you get 20% off so I gladly did, however the total was somewhere around $32?!! Maybe that's normal for dry cleaning but that seemed crazy to me. The girl asked if it was okay for next Wednesday and I said sure that's fine I don't need it until Thursday. I asked the girl if I needed a receipt (because I wasn't offered one) and she said no they can look it up by phone number. So Wednesday comes along and I go to pick up the dress on my lunch but it wasn't ready. The women said "ohhhh if she said Wednesday that means it's being cleaned on Wednesday and can't be picked up until after 5pm." What the hell is that shit??? The girl could have specified that or gave me a receipt which I guess would have had the correct pick up time on it. The bad customer service and pick up miscommunication are one thing I can get over that. But what really pissed me off was that after I already had been wearing the bridesmaid dress, and have already had our pictures taken... there I saw a piece of red effing tape over the stain I asked them to get out. I guess my fault for never checking it but I picked up the dress, drove to NYC for the wedding, took it out of the plastic bag and after a hectic morning just put it on. The stain was still there, although now it was nicely highlighted by a piece of red tape. Thank god for Photoshop so I don't ruin my friends wedding photos. I gave 2 stars because the woman who I picked up the dress from the second time was very friendly. Brief synopsis: go here if you want to spend $30 to have your stains accentuated with red tape and then returned back to you. read more

Long story short: 3 ladies' blazers taken in for dry cleaning, two men's blazers taken in for alteration. None of the ladies' blazers came back pressed, and one came back with stains that weren't there when dropped off. It's been over 2 weeks, they are apparently holding that blazer hostage because every time we call they claim it's not ready. The alterations were not completed when promised, again, it's been nearly two weeks. Every time we call, we get weak apologies and a new promised completion date, and again and again are disappointed. NO IDEA how these folks have been in business over 100 years. read more

Ruined a friend's jacket, should have been very obvious since large metal clasps fell off. The spring jacket was brought in for cleaning last November. When my friend went to put it on recently she found the damage. Response from Wesselmann's? "Should have noticed it, sorry, we have a 48 hour policy" A business that has been around for several years should have better service. At the very least a credit for the dry cleaning. read more

Holy moly this was the worst consumer experience I've had in a long, long time. I never use dry cleaning services. My Mom needed to find somewhere who could clean her area rugs, though, and this place is right around the corner. First of all, she called to see if they could do it, and the girl on the phone was incredibly rude. At one point she laughed at my Mom and said, "what?!"...shoulda known. When we went in there were 3 or 4 women behind the counter. They took the area rugs one by one and slowly "measured" each one. I don't even know for sure if they were actually measuring or pretending to measure. We were just so confused by how slowly they were fumbling around. So...I went back to pick the rugs up about a month later. $400+ ?!? What else could we do but pay it? They would have kept the rugs! It would have been nice if they could have given us an estimate at least. And $20+ to clean a winter coat? Sheesh. I don't know what standard prices are, but I'm mostly complaining about the bizarre women working there who acted like they had snuck in to rob the place and were pretending to work there as a coverup while the owner was tied up in the back or something. They Ruined one of my favorite dresses that had a fuzzy black pattern with Matte beige background. I have yet been reimbursed because I had to come in to put in a claim in writing, first. Worst experience ever. Wesselmans is a 5 minute walk from our house, both my boyfriend and myself are big supporters of local businesses in our area. We brought a white shirt to be dry cleaned for a wedding. We picked it up and they had somehow turned it light pink. No big deal, things happen, we brought it back in the morning the next day to have the problem fixed. No one there could do anything and they said the manager wouldn't be on until 9am, we never received a call back, and when we finally got through to someone they told us that they would re-clean it but no guarantee the shirt would be fixed. After the re-cleaning they called to tell us that the shirt "to the naked eye looked white, but next to other white shirts looked pink." As if that was acceptable. They told us they don't mark down the condition or the color of the shirt at drop off so there is nothing they can do for us since they don't know what color the shirt was originally. They charged us $2.40 to ruin a $30 shirt and had absolutely the worst customer service when it came to dealing with the issue, not to mention the pink shirt came back and was still wrinkled. I would not recommend going back to this place, and really think the owners need to reconsider their choice in management. read more

Took my husband's dress shirts to be cleaned and they came back with under arm stains not taken out, not cleaned properly. When we asked why they were not completely cleaned, they said if you don't specific what you want cleaned we don't address. How do you not clean - launder - dress shirts and NOT clean the under arms? I also had an item that needed on button added and they added the button to the wrong side, never cut the hole for the button, and did not fix the issue. They stated the seamstress didn't know how to do a button on the jacket, SERIOUSLY? I would never take anything back to them, they were unprofessional and clothes coming back dirty is unacceptable. I recently took my daughter's wedding gown to be cleaned to Wesselmann's. It had been 4 years since the wedding and it really had all the grime from being dragged across the ground as well as all the drinks that were spilled during the evening reception. I was a bit hesitant as I had never used Wesselmann Cleaners and had read some of the reviews. I decided to try it based on their website and how they clean these special gowns. I am so glad that I did, First I needed it done in a quick turn around time and they were so accommodating. When I picked it up, was I surprised by how amazing it looked. The gown was so white, every spot gone, and the crystal beading just sparkled - it looked brand new. Thank you Wesselmann for preserving such a special gown. It is being made into two Christening gowns for twin baby girls so they can have something special of their mom for generations to come - a wonderful family tradition. read more
