Simon was very attentive to the details of my dress, how I felt in it, and really made the dress fit me perfectly. I wore the dress for almost 12hours and was incredibly comfortable. Great place to go if you want to be treated like dirt. I was very polite to this man. However he is a man with little emotional regulation. The quality of the work was fine, but not amazing. Simon was very rude and unprofessional. It got to the point where I felt really uncomfortable. Examples of this including Simon raising his voice, mocking and belittling me, and extreme gaslighting. I am in a wedding at the end of the month. I got the suit back and it was pretty good. I stopped in to get some alterations done to the suit and Simon was terrific. He is an incredibly competent individual. He can easily gauge what is feasible just by looking at a garment. Works fast and is very communicative. Honestly he is a bit on the pricey side but for the quality of work you can't beat that at all. Unrelated to his services but it is worth mentioning that he can come off a bit forward and or short. I didn't take too much offense to as I just counted it as a New York ( no shade but the hospitality isn't the same as the Midwest/ south). I've been here 5-6 times and can attest Simon is very good at what he does. Tailoring here is not cheap, but his prices are commensurate to the quality of his work. Both the cost and quality are high. That said, I can also attest that he is a massive jerk. As others have commented, he's borderline rude, to the point where every time I've gone in, I am always made to feel like my visit is an inconvenience to him. God forbid you ask him a question (!), or try to explain what you're looking to have done with your garment. He's exceptionally impatient, easily irritable, and engages in nothing that remotely resembles customer service. Another reviewer commented that typically, all that matters in a tailor is the quality of their work, and while that's usually true, I agree with that reviewer that there is a threshold of civility below which you should just avoid a business. My maid of honor called to ask about my alterations. When I went in, it was a completely different story from what she was told and I was talked down to and made to feel incredibly stupid. The owner told my MOH that it would be "No problem" to alter my dress, yet I was informed that it was going to be "incredibly difficult"- even before he saw my dress! I did get it altered there, because really I had no choice. It was 3 months out and everyone else was booked. The price was good, but the customer service was not. I wish I had chosen anywhere else.... Including David's Bridal. Everyone who says he's amazing... I'm glad you all had wonderful experiences. He had me bawling at our first meeting. Simon tailored my wedding dress that was almost two sizes too big with a lot of beading around the bust that was going to be incredibly tedious for him to alter, and he did an amazing job! He was so efficient as he only had about 6 weeks to work with and I was able to go in for 3 separate fittings over that timeframe. I ordered a kimono-style jacket online. It fit everywhere but the armholes needed to be lowered. I made one very small cut in the arm hole and then realized this was a job beyond my skills. Was recommended to go to Prestige. I explained the situation to the man at the counter and he acted like I was trying to hide the fact that I had cut the garment, even though I told him outright. He proceeded to lecture me in an extremely rude and condescending manner. I took my garment and left. I would never spend money at a service business after being spoken to like that. read more

A while ago, I posted a review of a tailor shop on NFB. It was a good review, but I was a little irked when he called me after reading my review and challenged me to find someone cheaper than him. Soooo, when the hem fell out of one of the pants he did for me, a month later, I opted not to take them back to him. Eventually I forgot the pants were in my closet until I was packing to move to N. Bflo. That's how I ended up at Prestige. I found Simon to be very friendly. I took the pants in on a Friday, told him I was in no rush to have the pants back and he had them done on Wednesday. I knew they were done because he sent me a text, which I appreciated. It only cost me $5 to have the pants repaired. There aren't very many tailors left in Buffalo, so its my advice you bookmark this one, when you need one, you're going to want a good one. Bring cash or a check book though, he doesn't take card. read more

There is not a better tailor out there. I used to live in the area and I was spoiled by how close this was to my house. Now I schlep from Clarence because they are still the best. This place was a godsend. We had been to three tailors before coming to Prestige. Basically we were told that they could not or would not do the alterations to my wedding dress, which was extremely frustrating knowing that these were professionals. However after all of the frustration we ended up at Prestige, which was truly a blessing. I showed the owner my dress and explained what I was looking for, to which he replied, "yes, no problem...go put on the dress." Not only did he show me exactly what he would do, but he was EXTREMELY knowledgable about tailoring wedding dresses. I was a little skeptical since my blazer wasn't made here but I went in here anyways. Small store on Colvin. The owner is the tailor. He is italian and has a pretty good idea what he is doing. The turn around time to get my suit blazer altered was less than 5 business days which is really good! Pretty nomial on charges as well. To get my alterations cost me $25. The only downside is that the guy is a little condescending in his tone while you explain what you want to get done. He tried to give in his "expert" input but since you're paying you might as well get your way. I had to be a little stern with what I wanted done but I'm overall happy with the blazer fit. I asked him to take in the waist on some jeans, repair a pretty massive rip in my favorite pair of jeans, and take in the waist on a dress I had. My items were done on time and they look exceptional! I bought a coat with a faulty zipper (one of those "have to have it" moments). I searched for local tailors and found this shop. Simon is professional and honest. He gave me two options on how he could fix the zipper. Although slightly overpriced, his work is flawless and worth every penny. My coat was ready within two days and two years later the zipper is as strong as it'll ever be. I have sent friends and family, they too have been equally satisfied with his work. I didn't get a good feeling from the curt, dismissive person I talked to on the phone, but based on the generally positive reviews I still took my suit jacket down to the shop. I should have trusted my first impression because the guy behind the counter was so smug, condescending, and rude that I walked out. Instead of answering simple questions he talked down to me and spewed nonsense. 2 examples: My jacket was a bit too large so he asked if I had tried a smaller size. I said I had but it bunched up too much. His response was that I could buy a giant jacket and it wouldn't bunch at all. So wise. Then I asked if the sleeves and arm holes could be made more narrow. His absurd response was to find another jacket, open it, and let me know that the "arm holes are made out of holes" and so can't be moved. Another gem. Naturally, I won't be back and would advise against this shop. read more

My mom has been going to Simon for years; so anytime my sister and I ever needed anything done, we were heading to Prestige. When my sister got her wedding dress she made the mistake of getting alterations at the bridal boutique. When she saw how awful the alterations were, the dress was immediately brought to Simon. He took out all of the stitching and redid everything so perfectly, you couldn't tell how much damage the bridal boutique did to the dress. Prior to my wedding (I currently live in TX), I came back to Buffalo specially for my fittings with Simon. He worked around my schedule with when I came home and then the week of my wedding, he did my final fitting. He worked around the clock to ensure my gown was flawless days before my wedding. In addition, my train was so long he found a way to bustle it so that it wasn't destroyed and looked beautiful. I wouldn't go to anyone else besides Simon with alterations (especially bridal gowns and important dresses). His work is top notch and he takes pride in his detail. Simon is the only actually competent tailor I've found in a 20 mile radius, and I don't trust my clothes with anyone else. Before Prestige, I dumped hundreds of dollars on others with high Yelp ratings or name recognition (Chayban, Maurice, etc.) and been amazed at their dismal failures. I brought in suits I'd had altered by other tailors and Simon immediately spotted problems--the same problems I'd noticed and brought up with those other tailors only to get a lot of hand-waving and "it's fine, it's fine". Well, people, it wasn't fine, and I lost a fairly expensive suit to shoddy work (and had to have Simon salvage others). If you're looking for a tailor, don't even bother checking the reviews for others. Consider: - Each trip I make to Prestige means almost half an hour of driving without traffic. - Prices aren't the cheapest around. - No credit cards--only cash or check accepted. - Simon is very matter-of-fact and not super charismatic, which can be intimidating for some. You're going to get the truth, not a pat on the back to make you feel better about a garment that would be best thrown away or donated to charity. - Wait times for consultations in the shop can be fairly lengthy (during my first visit I had to wait almost an hour to have Simon take a look at a jacket). Simon totally saved my wedding dress that was purchased and tailored by a dress shop in Williamsville! I Picked up my dress on a Tuesday the 21st (4 days before my wedding) and asked to try it on after only 1 fitting and was told by owner "oh no - you can't try it on - its all ready been pressed" I did push back a bit however had such a horrible experience already - I just wanted to get the damn dress and leave. Which is what I did - I picked up my $2500 wedding dress - and took it straight to a tailor, who was recommended to me by a co-worker who takes pretty much everything she owns here. Simon has a communication style of a Tailor who knows how to do his job and is honest about it! - My altered dress was too small around my thighs, too loose in my waist, wrong size cups were put in without even placing them on me first - the shoulders needed to be taking up, the Hem line was obviously uneven......It was a nightmare. Simon accommodated me right away and knowing my wedding was in just a few days - made my dress a priority. I ended up putting the dress on 5-6 times in a 3 day period to get the dress to a "wearable" point...... This is absolutely the best place you can take your clothing for tailoring, alterations, and repairs. I took my favorite pair of GAP jeans in to have a tear repaired at the knee. My daughter needed several alterations to her prom dress. She needed cups in her bust, and the owner was so professional. She didn't feel uncomfortable at all. He contacted us to move the fitting because he had a family emergency and assured me her dress would be done before her prom. I picked it up yesterday and it's beautiful. The cups are perfect, the stitching on the bottom is impeccable. He made sure everyone was taken care of even while dealing with personal issues.
