I just built a movie room in my home and wanted my curtain panels sewn together! I didn't know the man at the counter but he was very incoherent to what I was in need of! I had to explain what I needed a few times and after he finally understood he wanted to charge me 60 dollars to sew them! I told him I would pay 20 and he dropped it to 40! I needed a bridesmaids dress altered barely 2 inches. They wanted to charge $125 - more than what the dress cost! They claimed it would take 3 hours ($35 an hour plus a base charge). I took the dress to a friend and she got it done in less than an hour. I would suggest doing research before coming here! read more

First the owner was extremely nice and personable, after going to about three different tailors who all were rude and didn't even take a look at my dress before saying no- he took the time to look at my dress and evaluate what he could to fix it. There's a noticeable difference between someone who tailors clothes and a true tailor. A true tailor pays close attention to detail, has pride in their work, and provides excellent customer service. If you have awareness regarding the difference between an "off the rack" fit and a well-tailored garment, you will appreciate a place like Tailor Made. If you don't then maybe you should stay with your local dry cleaners that has some part-time worker take your measurements. Even for the simplest of jobs to merely hem slacks or shorten sleeves... it's just not worth going to just anybody because in the past I've "given in" out of convenience and have had to have the work re-done. Never again. I needed to have a suit tailored in 3 days time, in order to prepare for an interview that I wanted to look my absolute best. So quickly looked to Yelp to point me in the direction of local tailors with good reviews. This is where I found Tailor Made. which had many positive reviews, all of which outlined detailed experiences of customer satisfaction. Yusef, welcomed me to stop in for a fitting, staying 30 min+ after closing time to make sure everything was accounted for. He promised the service to be complete in time for my interview, assuring me that it would not be a poor, rushed job. When I picked up the suit, I was amazed at the quality of the stitching and "after-effect" of the service. The suit looks perfect when I wear it and it is difficult see it was altered -even the new threading used for relocating my pant zipper matched the original color. Overall, I am extremely pleased and will be sure to return with more garments in need of alterations. To be noted: I picked up the suit on Sunday, a day they are usually closed. I had two suits tailored here last year. The tailoring came back ok, but it took forever. The biggest gripe? It was FOUR HUNDRED dollars to have my two Calvin Klein suits fitted. This is not including pants. I almost feel like the price came out of thin air, and base it on the kind of suit you have. I came in with a living social coupon, and they seemed to inflate the price to account for this. I could have purchased a new suit and had it fitted for the same cost that Tailor Made charged me. I was taken because they had my items and took the money upfront. I was desperate and this place was near my house. I would stay away from here as there are a TON of places that need the business, and wont take your entire mortgage payment in order to pay. read more

Rating: 4.5/5! Went here to get my suit tailored before an interview. I went here two days before I needed it and he was very accommodating. I didn't realize how badly my suit fit until I got it back from them. Turns out the suit needed extensive work. The suit overall needed to be taken in two sizes, the pants needed to be taken in at the waist and the thighs, the sleeves also needed to be lengthened (which was a chore because there were buttons at the wrists). As soon as I tried the suit on, I was like wow, it looks like a custom made suit. Pros: The tailor ( I didn't catch his name) is super professional, listens to what you want, offers suggestions but if you decline a service he is not pushy, does excellent work. I agree with other reviewers that you can tell he takes pride in his work! Cons: I had the pants of the suit pressed as well and one leg had two creases. Which happens when the original one wasn't steamed enough to be "released". This only happened the one time so really minor. Overall: I would recommend this place time and time again for tailoring. Always get an estimate. I brought in a safety vest (worth about $12) and had 2 plastic pockets sewn on to it. I was expecting to pay around 15 dollars for material and time. This business is open M-F until 6:30 pm. I called and made a 4 pm appt. I put money in the parking meter and when I went to open the door it was locked up tight. I stood outside the business and called to see if anyone was there. No one answered. What was the point on making an appt with me just to stiff me? He didn't even give me the courtesy of a call to reschedule with me if he had to leave the shop early or whatever. What an ignorant man! To say the least Tailor Made lost a customer before I even walked in the door. I'm petite and if he would've made me a happy & satisfied customer I would have gone to him for years. This was the worst service I have experienced. I am new to buffalo so I was not sure of a reliable tailor to go to for my bridesmaid dress alterations. I tried this one because it was close to home and seemed to have pretty good reviews online. The worker was extremely rude to me on more than one occasion across the 3 times I was in the store for my dress. The price that he charged me for my alterations seemed to be very high, and he had me pay $80 of the alterations on the first day when I dropped the dress off. Finally, when I went to pick up my dress after the alterations had been completed 2 weeks later, he told me not to try the dress on because it had been dry cleaned. So I didn't, and I went home. My friend's wedding was in 2 days so I thought I should try it on just incase. THANK GOD I DID, because a strap (that was supposed to be attached to the back of the dress) had been removed and simply pinned on the side of the dress. When I gave him the dress, this strap was attached. If I hadn't tried the dress on before the wedding, I would not have had the strap on. I ended up having to sew it on my own because I had to go out of town and didn't have time for him to do it. So, I called and told him the situation. He tried to give me a hard time but we agreed that I would come back to the store and he would give me a small refund. So I went directly back to the store and he asked me AGAIN to explain the entire situation and tried to fight it. Luckily, I brought someone with me this time and when they walked in, he cut it out and proceeded with the refund. This was ridiculous and unprofessional. NOT ONCE did he apologize for handing me an unfinished product as well as detaching part of my dress..... I paid close to $160 for a hem and my straps slightly shortened to get the dress back with a missing strap that should have remained attached. The way he dealt with this was highly unprofessional and rude. I would not recommend going here. My experience was not a positive one to say the least. A good tailor that you can call your own is something every adult male should have...a right of passage, if you will. That said, this is mine. I wear suits a lot, but have a thin build that most companies don't design for. Habib at Tailor Made knows how to correct that. I prefer to adhere to the British cut of suit, and Habib knows how to implement that. I never really have to explain much of anything to him, he just goes right to work, and the end result is exactly what I want...it's not like getting directed to the department store in-house 50-something tailor who's wearing an oversized, out-of-style brass button blue blazer and no matter how much you tell the guy you want your suit to reflect "a tailored hourglass shape," it comes back looking like an oversized sack. I have several bespoken suits, one done by hand by Sam of the famous Sam's Tailor in Hong Kong. Since I've started coming here, I've switched back to buying medium-to-good quality suits off the rack and having Habib tailor them...I get more compliments on the look and fit of these than the bespoken ones. The reason I like Habib so much is his ability to do just about anything. He can alter just about any part of any piece of clothing...including slimming suit sleeves, which is huge for me. The service I actually use him the most for is to take a regular dress shirt, and for about $20 or so, slim the sides and arms so it fits like a proper slim fit. The main reason I wrote this review though, and the reason I keep coming back to Habib, other than the quality, is the fact that just by observing him working, it's incredibly obvious that he takes a lot of pride in his work. the man had some new denim that needed proper hemming (a skill i have yet to master), and decided to give Tailor Made a call based upon reviews here. after a quick phone call to be sure an appointment was not necessary, we were warmly told we could stop by that afternoon to have them fitted and pinned. upon arrival, we found the proprietor to be very friendly and knowledgeable, having discovered he trained in his homeland of Italy. he pinned both pairs of denim for my daddy-o in no time at all, and even inquired as to whether we desired a proper denim hem on the cuff, which of course we did (hence, we were seeking the skills of a tailor). both pairs of denim were ready in less than a week, and were hemmed properly. we are both extremely satisfied with the quality and appearance of the work, and will most certainly return with other items needing tailoring. the price point here is competitive with most tailors, perhaps on the higher end, but please know you are paying for the work of an extremely well-trained and skilled master tailor. read more

I took my (very casual) chiffon wedding dress her in August 2014 for some alterations. The alterations were not done correctly at all, and there was a VERY large snag in the front of the dress. Instead of apologizing he got upset that I was not going to pay him for his "work". He said he had still done the work and should be paid for it. Ummm, excuse me? You ruined my wedding dress! In my opinion, you should be paying ME for the cost of the dress since I had to go and buy a new one, as well as refund the $20 deposit I gave you for you to do the alterations. Had a few pair of my uniform pants done here. They were to be hemmed and pressed and opened up a bit. The hems were incorrect length and uneven on every pair. They were not pressed correctly, i was told they were just ironed because it was all he had. Also the creases were terrible. Railroad track creases very noticeable. And for all this crap i was charged almost 140.00 Never again will i return. Found a new tailor and i extremely happy with their work. read more

First time he measured me to have my clothes altered, I come to find out, they ran out of slips, so he made an amount up that I owed (verbally advised what each item costs) and made me pay the amount before trying on the finished/altered outfit. When I questioned things, he made me feel like I was overreacting or kept saying "don't worry". I came by the store on a Saturday at 1pm to then pick up my altered clothes and the store was closed. No one was in the store, it was locked and lights turned off. I looked at store hours and I couldn't understand why they were closed?! All I had was the messaging service provided by their phone number. Even at that point, I didn't make a big deal out of it and let it go. The following Thursday I called the store to ask when they would be open because the last time I stopped by the store to pick up my clothes, their doors were locked with no information. His response was "oh we must have been on lunch" and didn't even bother to apologize for NOT BEING OPEN DURING NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS. So fine, I asked "are you going to be open during normal business hours tomorrow because that is my day off and I want to pick up my clothes". He said "oh yes, come during the business hours and we'll be open". So, Friday rolls around and I make it to Tailormade by 10:38am. I checked my phone and thought ok that should be enough time to for them to settle in and be open. Oh, what a surprise they're not open! Their hours of operation are from Monday to Friday 10:30am-6:00pm and Saturday 10:30am-4:30pm. Mind you by this time, I'm ticked off because I had just called the day before to CONFIRM they would be open. So, I called the store again, and it goes to the answering service and I'm just stuck waiting in front of the store. Around 11am, the guy I have been encountering with casually strolls in like nothing could even bother him. When he greets me, he says "oh yes I talked to you yesterday on the phone". He then had every excuse about why he was late and why no one was watching the store. Then, when I confront him about the fact that I called yesterday to confirm they would be open and he was still late opening the store, he lies again and says "no I never spoke to you on the phone, I told you to come by 12pm! Wow lie and double lie. I told him I've been wasting time and gas money to travel all the way here and wanted a refund for my time. He proceeded to tell me they don't make a million dollars to refund me my money. I asked for his supervisors or the owner's phone number and he refused to give it to me. He even told me it was illegal to write a bad review! I left the store because clearly he had every excuse why it was acceptable to be open whenever he felt like it and made it seem like I was overreacting, there was no point in talking to him. After I left the store and was in my car, he locks up the store AGAIN and nonchalantly walks down the street to a salon. Within 10 minutes, he comes out with a coffee in hand. This just goes to show you, nothing is urgent to him and running a business is a joke. There is a certain level of laziness and apathy, which is disappointing. About a month ago, I made a list of local tailors to call about prices and Tailor Made was the first and last call I had to make. I only dealt with one guy on the phone and at the store and I believe his name was Yusef (I apologize if I'm wrong!) He was very enthusiastic, especially on the phone! Friendly, patient (I had about 10 pairs of jeans I had to try on in store to get hemmed) and professional. I was a bit nervous going from never having had anything tailored before to dropping off 10-12 pairs of women's premium denim (Hudson, 7FAM, Joe's, J Brand, etc.) but I am more than glad I did! Yusef was very good. I couldn't tell which ones I should keep longer to wear with heels and which ones shorter for flats but he was able to tell right away what would work once I tried them on. He kept the original hem on all of them so it's hard (read: impossible) to tell that they were hemmed. He even used thread that matched the rinses of each jean to keep the hem in place (very small stitches). His work is incredible, my jeans are not only wearable now, but fit me perfectly! I'm excited to buy more jeans so this magic pant man can fix them again. (Also it took him less than a week to do all of them!) read more
