This was my fist time going to Liz and I needed an emergency job done a few days before my son's wedding! Here's the story: I had bought my dress at David's Bridal on the Blvd in Tonawanda, N.Y. and BEFORE purchasing it, I asked if they would be able to make it into shorter, cap like sleeves, as it was a long sleeved dress but I loved it! No way I could wear long sleeves in mid-July! So they said yes, and I bought it. I went for my first fitting and was told there was no guarantee they would be able to shorten them more than an inch, after being told BEFORE I bought it, that there would be no problem! The girl rolled up the sleeve at the seam and pinned it saying they would "try", and if they couldn't, it would still be pinned when I picked it up and I would have to decide if I wanted to keep them long or have them hem them slightly shorter by hemming the bottom and lose the pretty scalloped lace on the bottom of the sleeves. The also charged me $121 in advance, even though BEFORE the appointment I had been quoted $40 for the simple hem and "around" $25 for the sleeves!! I payed about double!!! I went for the "second fitting", joke, and the sleeves had been sewed just as they were roughly rolled up at the first fitting ...was as long as in the beginning, barely an inch shorter!! I just picked it up and left. I told them how disappointed I was, and thought there had to be a way, to which they said again that they could hem it from the bottom and ruin it. A week later, 4 days before my son's wedding, a neighbor told me about Liz when I was telling her what happened. I wish I would have had that chat earlier!! I called her, she said to bring the dress in and she'd see what could be done. She agreed with me- it WAS possible to shorten them without losing the dainty edge! I wish so bad I would have met her first!! She did such a beautiful job on my dress and did WAY more work than David's did and charged me less than their original quote for just the hem..under $40!!!! She couldn't believe they had charged me $121 for what looked like about 5 minutes of work!! David's never even cut the extra material off the sleeves where they rolled and sewed them so they were bumpy. Her's were perfect! I was SO happy with HER finished product. I got SO many compliments on my dress and no one could tell it had been altered, it looked like it was meant to have those cap sleeves!! It's July 24 and I wanted a gown hemmed. When her phone picked up her voice came on and said she'd be back on the 14th. That was 10 days ago. I know with Covid-19 everything is all messed up but if she wasn't ready to come back, I think she should have changed her message. You can do that remotely. I only hope she is healthy and is just having a good time someplace and is not sick. read more

I have been going to Liz for many years. She is one of the best. Outstanding work reasonably priced. She has done my daughters dance costumes, home coming and prom dresses. She has altered clothes for myself and my husband. If something isn't completely right she will fix it but that's rare. Highly recommend. read more
