I made a great discovery recently, Village Mail Center Plus. I've been driving farther to USPS all these years unnecessarily. I only discovered this business because I did a search for mail centers that handled international DHL deliveries. The business is very cute, great parking, chairs so that you dont have to stand if you need to wait, they even have a great complimentary coffee bar. Paul and Sheri were both wonderful. Sheri acknowledged me right away, gave a friendly smile and made sure I was we were helped in the order we arrived. Paul was kind, hard working and very detail oriented, wanting to make sure he got my ship-to address exactly right. Even the customers were friendly! There was not a long line, my shipment just happened to require more time because it was being sent internationally. It really is a great location and had small town mail center vibes. I'm sure customers love that they are dog friendly...which i know is a big plus. Unexpectedly great experience here. I rent a medium sized mailbox. It's great that if an item doesn't fit in my mailbox I can still receive it here. 24 hour access to mail (unless it doesn't fit in your size mailbox) if wanted. I think there is a lunch break from 12-12:30, but maybe he can clarify if he usually goes at certain time. USPS usually drops here relatively early in the day. There is a key for the restroom, so if you'd like you can use it if it's during business hours. There are 2 designated parking spots right in front~ There's coffee~ and the shop has some items for sale related to the business. I'll have to add some photos next time I go. If you need to drop off a package for FedEx pickup, this location is both fast and convenient, with a friendly staff to assist you. I recommend using this local FedEx drop off spot instead of the one at the San Antonio Shopping center. read more

This was my first experience using a notary service so I called ahead to ask if I needed to make an appointment or bring anything in particular. The man who spoke to me on the phone was very nice, let me know walk in is fine and to just bring the document and my photo ID. When I went I had a bit of trouble finding the store because I only go to teaspoon and pho in that plaza. If you are facing the pho keep going left around the buildings and after the smoke shop you will see this store, there are two blue USPS mail boxes in front of it. The shop is small but neat and there was one customer ahead of me in line at 11:30 on a Saturday. I waited outside and went in once the customer left, folks were masked which I appreciated. The man behind the counter was helpful and everything was done quickly. I asked and he let me know that they accept UPS drop offs, if it's not properly packaged and labeled, they charge $1 to make it so. FYI - They accept credit cards with a minimum charge of $10. I've been using Village Mail Center Plus for about 20 years now for my mailbox service, but when Paul and Bob took it over a few years ago, the service level really increased. I think it's the best place to have packages sent to. It's secure and staffed, so you can rest easy with package deliveries. I discovered recently this business does DHL and other shipping, including overseas. The two gentlemen owners at this location are very kind and helpful. They would go out of their way to meticulously create a clear label and packaging for my DHL overseas shipping. Their rates are lower than online rates. In addition to DHL, they provide UPS, USPS and other shipping. Notary services are also offered at a very reasonable rate. All in all, this is a very honest and efficient business that provides high quality service. I highly recommend it. read more

I went to get a couple papers notarized and then since it's also a mail center, had it mailed in an envelope I provided, so it just needed to be weighed and stamped. This place is the only notary I've been to in recent memory (10 years) that doesn't do a fingerprint. Now technically it's not required by law for certain documents, but as a matter of practice nearly all notaries just do it. I would have felt more comfortable doing one. The other thing that got to me is that there is a mail box right in front of the place. I asked to buy stamps for the papers I was sending which was all ready to go in a SASE. The owner charged me $2.50, or roughly double what I estimate should have cost. Rather than dispute it, I asked for the stamps so I could drop it in the mailbox. He said no, he would not, and that he would mail it himself, probably thinking it would be obvious he was overcharging me. He wouldn't put the postage on it until I left. The men who own this mail center are so nice, so helpful and always know the best and least expensive way to mail or ship something. They have all the supplies- even boxes to ship wine- and there are no lines, and lots of smiles!! It's so much easier than going to the post office or UPS. I've been a mailbox customer for our business mail since 2003. It's especially great since we receive 50lbs+ boxes often. Doug who own/runs the business is very consistent, on time, and the pricing is always very fair. Often I call to find out if I have any mail rather than go there. I've only had positive experience being a customer for 7 years now! I tend to make the address for shipping change into: 4546 B10 El Camino Real #123, Los Altos, CA 94022 the #123 is the mailbox... this way some places that say no mailboxes won't notice and still be able to ship stuff for me here. I only wish the B10 wasn't in the address. read more

This place is so awful I don't even want to give it one star. The owner is a money hungry, greedy individual that only sees dollar signs whenever a customer walks through the door. I went to drop off 2 packages, one USPS, one UPS, with prepaid mailing labels on both. He said it was free for me to drop the USPS package but it would cost '$1 handling' to drop the UPS package. I asked if I could just leave the USPS package and he said, "No, you're not spending any money here so no, I don't want to." Really??? What kind of business is this? This was my first time they and will most certainly be my last. He needs to learn a thing or two about customer lifetime value. I have mailed many items, some antiques and very valuable things I have sold on EBAY. Village Mail Center is an authorized UPS drop-off location and I needed to drop off a prepaid UPS package. The guy behind the counter wanted a dollar for "handling". Well, I wouldn't have minded paying a dollar, except when I asked him for a receipt with the UPS shipping number from the package on it, he refused. "What do you want that for?" he asked, a bit surly. I told him that if I'm paying a dollar, I want a receipt that identifies what I dropped off and when. He still refused, so I took my package to another location that doesn't charge for drop off. read more
