Girl at the counter charged me 2.80 for a 'computer usage' fee for her to print my UPS shipping label (+ 0.20). Then immediately went to help a customer (without finishing my package) behind me in line and gave her free packaging tape which 'they normally charge for'. Not sure what kind of service that is, but it sure isn't friendly. read more

For reference, I'm comparing my experience here to the UPS store on Castro Street (in Mountain View). I'm not one to leave many one star reviews, but my fiancé (who is less critical of customer service than I am) and I were extremely disappointed with our visit to this store today. We went to print and scan a contract, which we thought would be a task that took less than 10 minutes (as it has taken around 5 min at the Castro St. location). At the Castro St. location, if you need to print something, you can forward your attachment on your phone to the store's email. Not only was that not possible at this store, but they required that we sign in on a public computer. At best, this is inconvenient and inefficient. You have to swipe your credit card to even use the computer (whose retro interface looks like something from Internet Explorer back in 2008 btw. This unfamiliarity for my software savvy fiancé cost us more time to go through and thus more money in the end). What made us most frustrated about this experience was that we are over 5 months into shelter-in-place (that has evolved to higher prevalence of covid than the initial prevalence back in March) and this store still could not have thought about using their store email to allow us to print something. Mind you the Castro St. location had implemented this method pre-pandemic, so it is beyond reasonable that this store manage to implement this method, too. On top of that, the store employee did not respect maintaining distance from me. Wearing a mask is not a license to forgo social distancing. I do sincerely hope that this post allows this store to reflect on how to maintain community health at this point and revise their egregious ways. We won't be returning to this location again. Save your precious time and money. TLDR; inefficient, costly, lack of covid-19 safety measures implemented 5+ months into the pandemic. read more

After a difficult few days, I came in here with a bag of items for a care package, not ready to ship at all. Dennis helped me measure my items and choose the perfect size box, and was very patient as I took my time packaging everything. He also suggested some paper to make everything look snug and appealing. The staff here are really nice. However this review is purely about UPS as a business. This place is a complete rip off. Passport photos are $16 and you get 2 copies. At Costco for $6, you can get 4 copies of passport photos. On top of that this place charges a $2.5 fee for using their computer for a hair of a second to print something. Or you can email the store with your document and pay a $2.5 "admin fee". Or you can use a USB drive to print directly without incurring the computer fee. However for COLOR prints they haven't hooked up the printers to allow USB access so you MUST use a computer to print something in color (tell me this isn't immoral). It's egregious. For the same price per print (.69 per color and .14 for B&W) at least FedEx allows you to print color copies straight from your USB without that ridiculous computer use fee or admin fee. Also there's always a line. I didn't experience that at Costco or FedEx (which for printing is self serve) My recommendation is go to Costco and FedEx for any of your needs. I'm not coming back to UPS ever again unless I'm incredibly desperate and there are no alternatives. Also they don't have Apple Pay. And apparently at FedEx you can print directly from your phone don't even need a USB. Is UPS operating from the pre-technology dark ages??? read more

You would think in a mall where this store can see both a Walmart and Target in visual range that their supply prices would be 'semi fair'? Nope! Wanted to get a cardboard box for an ebay shipment, Walmart was sold out of what I was looking for (their price 98 cents), I found what I needed on the shelf at the UPS store.....Their price? $7.60!!! Laughed, said I don't need shipping. Girl said that's the price of the box. Laughed as I walked away and went to Target got the same box for under $1.50 with tax. We also had two packages with FedEx and we called FedEx Office to ask them to put our packages on hold. We rushed from the airport to FedEx store and found out they had returned our packages to the senders. We called FedEx Customer Services and they didn't provide any help. DO NOT USE THIS STORE TO SHIP INTERNATIONALLY. The person who 'helped' me did do not know how to attach the proper documents to a letter I sent expedited to Germany and it got stuck in a holding facility in Kentucky. I personally had to fill out and send the proper forms that the sales person failed to do. I have been on the phone four times now trying to move that letter along. It has been a monumental time suck on my part. And where is my letter? The letter, that I paid over $105 to be delivered by Tuesday morning has still not been delivered and it is now Wednesday evening and I have no idea when it will be delivered. DON'T use this place. I wouldn't even trust them with a pre-labeled package. I had to give them a star in order to post this but would've given them ZERO if I could. read more

What is the point of having one notary... that takes a lunch of 1 hour and 20 min right at normal lunch hours when people run errands and might need a notary. I walked in at 12:10, and mentioned that I needed a notary. They said that person just left on their lunch and would be back at 1:20. Ridiculous. If you have something important to ship (like a gift), I wouldn't recommend this location. My husband shipped an item and asked for it to be packaged in front of him (which they declined). He then specified how it should be packaged. Based on the information we received from the recipient, it wasn't packaged to our specifications. We had a stack of documents that we had to fill out and sign, most of which had to be notarized. All of which were on different forms with different instructions - confusing to say the least. Dennis helped us step through every one of them and get the job done in as painless a way as possible (maybe with the exception of his wrists - he had to write a whole bunch). I'm renting a box here and happy that my packages are safe from thieves roaming around our streets. Employees (john, Tony, Denise and others) have been great. They offer to carry my packages to my car but I never accepted it since they're busy and I can handle the packages to my car. Some comments are upset that they have to wait in line for just scanning packages. But like everybody else, they should wait for their turn. What if hundreds of people are there for "just scanning packages" then the other people in line will never have their chance to be helped. read more

My wife and I had 2 very large and very heavy boxes to ship. I was dreading the shipping experience. We went to the UPS store on Showers Drive and to my delight it was an easy visit. The staff was superb: communicative, patient, and knowledgeable. Dulce assisted us with impeccable service. After we logged in everything for shipping our boxes we realized we had to change the destination. Ugh. Well, this was no problem for them. But the folks who work here are truly helpful and nice despite these stressful conditions. The space is clean and organized and they do a lot of things like notary services.
