Christine our wonderful server! She said it takes awesome to know awesome
Dawn C.

Very good breakfasts. I love the warm atmosphere inside. For years I've enjoyed Village Inn, especially to order pie after an evening movie. During the pandemic rents went up and two Tucson locations closedown. This location is off 22nd west of Pantano. Today was my first visit at this location and it was just a great experience. Our service was spot on. Drinks within a moment of sitting down, and our food order came out so fast it couldn't have been 5 minutes. Our server Christine said " we don't mess around here!" When she brought out our order so quickly. We must have looked shocked. My food was hot, well prepared and tasted super. I ordered the pumpkin pancake combo and my husband ordered the bacon and egg breakfast. We noticed they have a Monday evening Bingo game; so we plan to go for dinner and bingo soon. My husband got just warm hash browns and so not 100% perfect but a good place for groups . Very clean inside. Appealing pie counter. Quick turn around from entering to getting meal/ service. I'd highly recommend

Ordered pick up for dinner with 2 slices of pie one pecan and the other what I thought was suppose to be French silk, it looks like a serving of whip cream with little chocolate mousse filing. It's been 2 years since my last slice of French Silk, feeling dissatisfied and disappointed

Linda C.

Go to place for delicious breakfast! Have had other selections and every time, the quantity and quality are well worth it! If you have had the privilege of meeting Christine, you undoubtedly will request her each time!

We made a reservation well in advance and even then there were limited time options. The atmosphere of the restaurant is slightly upscale while still being cozy. I love all the plants! Our server was very knowledgeable and was able to give several recommendations. We ordered the grilled and chilled beets and the steak skewers for appetizers. The beets and everything that came with them was very fresh! I love anything with pickled onions. The steak appetizer was excellent and my dad could not stop talking about them. Next, I ordered the swordfish special and my dad got the pork chop. Everything was cooked to perfection and flavor was everywhere! For dessert we split the dark chocolate ganache. The ganache was very rich but paired wonderfully with the whipped cream and other flavors. I don't drink, but my dad also loved the cocktails he ordered! If Tito & Pep has been on your list do not hesitate any longer. I very much regret not coming here sooner and I highly recommend giving it a try!

The food was great- loved the rice & veggies they used. She made and awesome mocktail- I think it was like a pear blossom or something? Really tasty! My finger was legit sore/bent/bruised for a good 2 months.. If you're leaving the national park, this is a great spot to grab a bite. I think they just need to calibrate their doors a bit so they open and close with ease and not high pressure. So be careful!

Bottom layer is diced onions & cucumber. Good job I requested a side of rice to make this a Main though $8 for some cilantro rice (already on menu Protein Bowl) is steep, esp when all other sides are $4-6 fries, Chorizo Beans $5, Salad $6??! Extensive grounds with corn hole and games for kids outdoors, large patio with tables, neat open air bar with TVs with baseball on, built in bar tables in railings edge the lit trees and notices lots of patio heaters for cooler weather. There was nothing wrong with the food and our drinks were delicious. We asked him about the drinks and we were left to feel like it was an inconvenience. His demeanor and attitude was just so rude. Any questions we had about the menu he seemed so angry. He hardly said anything to us all evening. I tried to make some light hearted comments and he told me he didn't appreciate it as he was so busy. All of the other servers seemed fine. Between the four of us for a cocktail and food we easily spent $50 each. My husband and I typically tip 20-25% because we know serving is hard work. Needless to say he didn't quite get 10%. The first thing I need to own is that it's a shame I hadn't visited here before. We arrived at 5:30p and both the bar and patio areas were packed - standing room only, and no wonder. They have one of the better happy hours (daily! 3:00 - 6:30p) - able to accommodate both the slacker and the over-timer Lol. Basic drinks are all discounted such as house wines, well drinks, and beers. Their bottled wines and craft cocktails are all exempt though. Many of their appetizers are also discounted and some quite substantially. We grabbed a glass of the house cabernet ($6, normally $8) and the grilled shrimp wrapped in jalapeno bacon ($13, normally $20). NOTE: happy hour pricing is Only available if you order/consume at the bar or on the patio at that's clear in advance and understandable. The dining areas were only half full at this early point (but filled up by 6:30) and the host kindly encouraged us to enjoy our starters at the bar as she would hold our table. We were then sat near the "back" of this long venue and frankly, aside from the lone windowed table at the very front, this would be my preferred seating - cozy, intimate, with only five other tables around us. For dinner drinks she got an Italian Nebbiolo Bricco Magno Red Blend ($13/glass, reliably terrific/mellow) and I got the Chupacabra ($15) Mezcal/prickly pear cocktail, strong and excellent as well. We got an additional appetizer: the roasted bone marrow ($19). I had never had before but she raved about how good this can be if done properly (bonus, it is super healthy). Folks, a picture/worth a 1000... suffice to say this was simply outstanding! We both had long work weeks and were craving meat - just a damn good steak. Our waiter, without blinking recommended the 8oz bison filet mignon ($65) as his absolute menu fav, and the day's special: 14oz ribeye ($50). We ordered each. All dinners come with two sides and we each got the day's special: roasted half artichoke and she got the loaded baked potato while I got the mashed potatoes. Food arrived in about 15 minutes later at good temperature (warm/rested with a strong char) with each being accurately grilled (medium and medium-rare). Taste was outstanding. Neither one of us had bison filet before and marveled how it (subtly) added a "wild" edge to an always outstanding, lean-but-tender, cut of beef. The loaded baked was terrific, however, the mashed was the only disappointment... a plainer mash one could not make themselves - pure white and borderline dry, no milk, butter, egg, gravy(?), nothing to make it creamy or add any flavor dimension - a surprise frankly. The only other "critique" is that the dessert menu could add some kind of dark/chocolate concoction. All in all, though, we loved our experience and have decided to add this to our periodic special dinners rotation! Staff was outstanding - just the proper balance of attentive and quiet - and waters never went below half empty. Parking is free and plentiful, especially behind the restaurant (and yes, if you continue on around the back there is another long entrance/exit driveway that comes out the other side of Jimmy John's and Noodleholics.

I understand the head chef has a French influence, but frankly it overwhelms the food and takes away from the freshness. I had the snapper since they didn't have the halibut. It seemed over cooked and then drenched in sauce with greens on top, also drenched in sauce. The saddest part was they sat us in the back room. Where they seemed to sit everyone coming into the restaurant. If the restaurant was packed I would understand but every other room was empty. Who wants to sit along the pathway to the bathroom? Service was so/so. Had to ask for drinks multiple times. But frankly the quality of the food was not worth the cost. Definitely will not be returning, until they revamp the menu to include less French style and more uniquely inspired fresh food. I mean if we wanted French we would have gone to Le Rendezvous or Wild Garlic which are top notch.

They got back to me right away and were very friendly and encouraging that they'd help me out. When we got there, it wasn't busy at all, so we didn't need a reservation. It was a bit disconcerting that the hostess didn't know anything about me having the reservation, but like I said, it wasn't busy at all. We put a couple tables together and had all the space we needed. The large garden setting was spacious and lit by strings of lights which created a nice ambiance. Every table was in the shade by the time we arrived, so if anything, we should've dressed warmer. Our server was friendly and answered our questions. The menu isn't huge, but there were a couple of things I could have with my dietary needs. I ordered the chili burger on lettuce instead of a bun. I upgraded to the Tuscan salad for my side for an extra $4. I asked for some ranch dressing on the side for dipping my burger. My hamburger was very well done, almost to the point of being burnt on the edges. It was hard to cut with the plastic knife I was given. The tiny bit of Tuscan salad was disappointing. It tasted ok, but was definitely not worth the upcharge for the amount I got. So, my meal was disappointing and unsatisfying. The people we ate with would probably rate the place higher than I did because they enjoyed their meals and I didn't hear much complaining. My husband got the Reuben with fries and enjoyed it. The sandwich had a sweet taste to it, perhaps from the apple on it or their sauce. The ones who ordered nachos got a gigantic portion of those. When we got our bill we saw that there was a charge for the little side of ranch dressing. It would've been nice if they'd told us when we asked for it.
