Fred was a great server!!! !!!!!!!!Thank you!!!Food was excellent .....................................Great enevironment

This place has an obvious breakfast issue. I've been coming here for four years now. I almost always order one of their "skillets", which for the most part are quite good. And they just recently added a Mexican skillet that was excellent. EXCEPT for the fact that the cooks at this restaurant do NOT know how to make an over medium egg. The skillets are all topped by eggs, and you can get them any way you want them cooked. I don't like over hard eggs, I like a soft yoke. But I also do not like a runny yoke, which immediately drips all over rest of the meal as soon as I hit it with a fork. Every time I come here and order a skillet, I order the eggs over medium, and every single time I come here, I get over easy eggs that run all over the rest of the meal. I do NOT understand why someone who is working in a restaurant as a cook does not know how to make an over medium egg. I CAN MAKE AN OVER MEDIUM EGG AT HOME, and I've NEVER worked as a cook in my life. Just unbelievable. Other than that, all the food at Village Inn is pretty good, and reasonably priced. In the interest of full disclosure, I would say that in the 4 years I've been coming here, I did get over medium eggs cooked properly 3 or 4 times. read more

Decided to grab a bite before heading back home. I got a simple meal, sirloin steak with eggs, hashbrowns, a pancake, and lemonade. The meal was OK but my service was great! Denea was my server. She was very pleasant and was definitely who I needed to serve me after coming to town to say a final goodbye to a dear friend. She made my morning more enjoyable, and I really appreciated it. read more

I walked in for an order to go. four people walked in after they was help right away! why I ask if I can make a order to go, eyes was rolled and was told I will get you a waiter. I wasn't asked for a name for the order and that it will be 10 to 15 minutes wait! the one thing I ordered for myself was a bacon love BLT that appeared to be thrown together! read more

This is why I love being a part of Yelp. As a business owner myself, I pride myself on give the customer a premium product. When I don't feel that I have met that, I feel it's only right to do everything I can to ensure that customer is beyond happy and understands that I as the business owner recognizes this is wrong and I want to make it right. The holidays are here and Resturant's are crowded. Servers are overwhelmed with orders, short staff and worst of all pushy customers, but the goal is to get the order right which brings me to my point. I stopped in at Village inn on Joe Battle. My server, Lira is a nice young man very pleasant. I ordered strawberry Crepe with hash browns and three scrambled eggs. Large OJ and a cup of tea. I received the oj and tea but when I got the food, the egg portion was incredibly small. I asked him is this three eggs and he look at them in agreance with me said that's what they gave me. read more

I would give a half of star if possible. From Arizona, have been to plenty of these restaurants. We're here in El Paso and this was right by our hotel, walkable distance. Ordered a cold Turkey sandwich, came out warm, even though I said cold... waitress didn't listen. Took forever to get a refill. Barely anyone inside. Slow service. Then ordered 2 slices of pie to go at the check out counter. She said it would be a few minutes because there were other people checking out. Okay. We ended up waiting nearly 15 minutes for our pies which were sitting right there the whole time, but she kept checking people out, going to the back, and even sitting people. Then we got our pies. Terrible service. Food was okay. They have better breakfast. Pies are amazing though, but not worth the wait. read more

Can't ever complain about the VI. This place been around since I was born and now my kids love going here. This weekday on a work outing we choose the VI for late breakfast. I chose the blueberry pancakes with an egg on the side. There was like 15 of us so the food did take some time but worth it. The huge plate sized pancakes arrived and looked super delicious. There was no need for syrup as I like my egg over the pancakes and the yoke drizzle over. I was super hungry cause I didn't leave a bit behind. Ive never had a problem with village inn breakfast and I don't think I ever will. read more

The food was absolutely horrible. Eggs not cooked well. Hash browns were flavorless and not cooked completely. We are driving through and stopped here for a quick breakfast. We waited over 40 minutes for a table. However our server Angel was great! read more

I ordered the turkey dinner . When I received my meal it looked like dog food. The turkey looked like 2 slice the rest looked like ground up dog food. The mashed potatoes were cold and tasted like refrigerator. The biscuit was old and hard. We haven't been to a worse dinner than this. . Server was very nice . Honestly we should've returned the meal because I got home and threw it the garbage read more

Great service and good food. Definitely will return. Manager is super friendly and nice.

Not sure why this location has so many bad reviews! My two brothers and I came on a busier Friday morning. We were seated right away and our lovely server Emoney was at our table within 2 minutes. I could tell she was busy with many other tables, however, she kept checking in with us and apologizing, even though we were not waiting long! She was super attentive, informative, and patient with our different modifications. The food came out fast and tasted great! I got the Santa Fe skillet with chorizo instead of chicken. Yum!! Good service, good food, nice staff! Would definitely eat here again read more

Great breakfast with the family. Excellent & fast service. Restaurant on the loop is always clean & well lit.

New manager is amazing! I feel like the place is a well oiled machine. Servers are really nice. We love something once per weekend for family time. It gets super busy on weekends. (I'd recommend La Wheela if the wait is too long and kiddos start to get grumpy!) Keep up the good work! read more

Denaeya was fantastic server! She took 3 orders around me w/o writing anything down Wow! Praised her to Manager told her Denaeya deserves raise $ only to be told they don't get raises! What servers earn less then $3 an hour and they Still have to claim 15% of bill no Matter What customers leave as Tip!!! What a rip off....so customers Always leave At Least 15% tip or if not your server will be out of pocket $$. Super job Denaeya read more

The so-called manager Celest working today in the afternoon. Didn't accept my service dog because my dog was not wearing a vest and even though I had proof by providing digital ID card. She refused and said my dog needed a vest by "Texas law " which is bs if she actually knew according to the ADA Service Dogs are not required to be outfitted with a vest or any type of identifying gear. You rather lose clients because of your lack of knowledge. If it was me I would reconsider her position as a manager. read more

Can't leave a review in the food because the service was the worse service I've experienced in years. We waited 35 minutes and no one took our food order. Tried to get the waitress attention several times in which she ran past us and kept serving everyone around us that was sat down after us. No wonder they are closing all their restaurants. Never spending my time or money here again. read more

Service has gone down hill rapidly. My family eats out 3 to 4 times a week. This past weekend they totally messed up our orders. Poor communication and chaos from our wait staff. Yesterday evening I called two dinners in. When I arrived Brittany said she tried calling me back to let me know about probs with my order. I showed her my phone log and not one call. She insisted and was rude in the process. No apologies no attempt to make it right. We eat there or order from there 1 to 2 a week. Very disappointed and will go to Denny's moving forward. read more

So my mom and I went to this Village Inn for lunch. The inside was a clean, friendly atmosphere. Our waiter was polite. So as I sit there,I can see in the kitchen I see our waiter preparing our Toast( no gloves ) I immediately think everything he is touching. So I watch him and never see him wash his hands. Our plates come, and my sausage links are over cooked and my bacon is way crisper than I'd like. My Mom ordered the Sausage Patties, which she said were on the verge of being spoiled. I don't have any pictures because I wasn't going to rate this restaurant but then decided to. read more

The food was amazing! Nice selection! We had brunch on A Sunday! Everything was amazing! Great service! Waitress did a great job too!

Great service. The young lady that greeted me was very nice. I had a to go order and it was not a long wait. The food was delicious

Very service I will never go there again. Took over an hour to get food. When we got it order was all wrong and cold. Waitress look at us like a deer in the headlights. What's funny is she wrote down our order. We used to go here regularly but not anymore. read more

First the good since this will be fast... -tons of waitresses/waiters -manager on the floor -clean (it is brand new) -we were warmly greeted Bad -after bringing our drinks we were undecided on what to have so asked for her to come back in a minute, 15 minutes later she came back for us to place our order -it took about 45 min for out plates to come out and they were not very busy at all. 45 min for some eggs and pancakes what is going on -i ordered the vegetable and chicken omelet with egg substitute, wheat pancakes and fruit. The omelet was the smallest omelet I have ever seen, there wasn't a piece of chicken in the whole thing, and the worst part is it was covered in butter disgusting. The pancakes were ehhhh. My friends eggs were also covered in butter and pancakes were un-eatable. -the manager came over to check on us and we told her all the issues she asked if we wanted something else we said no but would like to try a piece of coconut pie....the pie was dang near tasteless. Best pie in America....right....lol -this was my first and last time I will eat at a village inn read more

Food was terribleeee. we were sat by the kitchen, where we saw MULTUPILE people preparing toast with no gloves , then seeing them touch many other things, not once did we see any of them wash their hands. we ordered the chicken tenders w a side of mac and fries & waffles w eggs, bacon, & hash browns. the chicken was undercooked , mac and cheese was dry ash. the only good part were the fries. safe never going back to that location . read more

That staff was very friendly, first time at this location but will come back. I ordered the adult grill cheese and it was great, just wish the cheese had been melted better. Village Inn - It's that time of year again. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - El Paso, Texas

So as you guys can tell, I visit this place fairly often. But I just tried their ultimate skillet; which is a first for me, because I NEVER get anything other than my usual corned beef hash and eggs. Today, I decided to try a skillet of theirs as I was walking by another patron's table and saw his. As usual, Village Inn never ceases to amaze me. The first thing I noticed about their skillet is that they don't deliver it to you excruciatingly piping hot like Denny's does. I dunno...perhaps some people like their food deep fryer hot because they're afraid the food might not be cooked enough. But if I'm sitting down to eat breakfast, chances are I'd like to bite into my food immediately....as opposed to waiting 15 to 20 minutes for the food to reach an edible temperature. That's the frustrating thing about the skillets as Denny's. They're delicious, but also served at unsafe temperatures. Anyone that's been around food for more than a day realizes that potatoes absorb a lot of heat fairly quickly and for lengthy periods of time. But I digress. Overall, the ultimate skillet is the way to go for yours truly when it comes to skillets. I just replace the sausage with bacon only (because I find sausage nauseatingly disgusting) along with some eggs over easy and I've got perfection on a skillet. All the flavor with JUST the right amount of heat. No need for a cool down period with this dish. I should mention that despite having a trainee accompany our server, service was still on point! That is why, at long last, I am giving one of my favorite breakfast places of all time 5 stars (for THIS location only though). Far as I'm concerned, they rank right up there with Jimmy's Egg in Oklahoma. read more

This place said they do not take military discounts as per the manager. Wi-Fi service was horrible. Whole place was worthless.

Went this evening for dinner and it didn't take long to sit us. Waiting for food was a different story. Took about 15 minutes to trans our drink order then about another 5-10 minutes for our food order. We ordered 2 turkey sandwiches one with fries and a HOT cup of soup. Thirty minutes later we get a not even warm soup. Waitress asked me if I ordered soup too, I ordered fries. Eight minutes later she brings me a wrong sandwich and tells me to enjoy my meal. When I asked for my husband's sandwich she looked surprised and then asked if he ordered a sandwich too. I spoke with manager and complained about horrible service. I think she sent too much time putting on those horrible fake lashes. I've been there before when it's crazy busy and never received horrible service like today. read more

My wife and I went there yesterday. We had not been there for about a year because the last time we went our food was burnt. So you went to give it another shot and we regretted it. So we both got water and my wife ordered a skillet with sunny side up eggs and a side of toast. The waitress came back with coffee. We told her we ordered water. My wife had asked for no green peppers in her skillet and asked if she could have extra mushrooms. The skiller already comes with mushrooms. So the food took forever to come out and when it did the skillet had green peppers. The waitress asked if we wanted a redo. My wife said no that's fine because she was hungry. So she ate one egg and then she dug into the skillet only to find there were no mushrooms at all. So I called over the waitress and explained what happened and she kind of gave me attitude saying that she had already offered me a redo. I had to tell her that we said no to the redo because my wife didn't mind the peppers but we didn't know that there were no mushrooms until she dug into it. So we waited for the skillet to come out again and it came out without eggs. My wife asked where's the eggs and the waitress said she had to ask the manager. My wife said forget it and she started to eat the skillet. When she started eating she quickly found out that the mushrooms were not cooked. So this time I called over the manager and explained what happened. At this point my wife didn't want to eat there anymore so the manager offered to remove the skillet from the bill. We waited for the bill and we were given the wrong bill. So we had to wait to get the waitresses attention and ask for the correct bill. When the bill finally came they had charged my wife for the two eggs, of which she had only eaten one. I was still planning to leave the waitress a tip but after being charged for the eggs I had had enough. This is probably the third time in my life that I didn't leave a tip. The service was slow, had attitude, made several mistakes. I'm sorry but I can't leave a tip for that poor service and and then your going to nickel and dime me and charge for the eggs. We used to eat at that location all the time and for some reason it just went downhill really bad. Probably never go back there again. read more

Service has went down since last time, tables are dirty areas are dirty you can tell no one wants to be there the only manager busting his ass going around checking on everyone. Then you have home girl with a knee brace half ass wiping tables and leaving dirty carts in the way to go talk and flirt instead of cleaning tables, busboys didn't bus it had to be managers, and the food was so small portions, plate looked to big to even hold half the food they put, my mom got the crepes and they just put two strawberries and called it a day no creme not whipp, with my breakfast they gave me soggy French toast, and maybe a egg. Dirty glasses, had to wait forever on our waiter who would just keep walking by and like side eyeing us instead of asking if we were ready..... maybe just stick on taking a pie to go and that's all. If you have bad eyesight then yeah go you won't see all the nasty stains on the walls and under tables :) read more

Only go to this location if you want mediocre food and horrible service. We hesitantly go every time knowing that we'll be here for 3+ hours. It's like a running joke at this point, just like the service. Rude hostesses that only check on the table when you're eating (so you can't ask for anything) and then they suddenly disappear to the back for hours. We waited an insane amount of time, like 45 minutes to ask for dessert. Found lipstick on my fork, the food was cold, and I had to call over a manager to even get some service. Which wasn't every helpful at first because she told me to just place orders with our server but she was nowhere to be seen. My first time there was also terrible, I was rushed by the hostess to order because she was "behind" on her orders when it wasn't even busy. Never received such rude and shitty service, and then you wonder why you don't get any tips. Fix the place, the young managers and staff need some training because everyone here is rude. read more
