It's a FAIL. Management needs to step up or all staff needs to be replaced. - the dishes are good and well priced - it's the shortness in baked goods and latte flavors - I ordered a Mocha Chocolatte. Sad, no flavor, no mocha....it tasted like a hot chocolate. - Regular Coffee at around 10a was stale no flavor. - the complementary bread at least 2 day old. I've been here twice, about 2 years ago and this time. Same both, I was told they had just opened and they were adjusting. They just need a new staff. Skip this place and go to the one on Gateway. There was a long line when we arrived on Sunday for breakfast and it moved quickly once the second register opened up. We were a party of 5 and we all ordered different meals. First time I've visited but I've been wanting to for so long! I thought it was a French restaurant and the food would be good and reasonably priced. Went the Joe Battle location and it is a cafeteria - you have to order your own food. I expected good onion soup in a big bowl for $7, but after two returns, the soup was thin, no onions, and without a piece of bread sufficient to cover the top, and with some grated Swiss stick to the bottom of the tiny bowl. There are no plant based creamers, no stevia, and no ambiance. Very sad. I am a business owner and would love to help them improve their abysmal overall ratings across their restaurants. read more

We never got our food, got there at 10:40 and sat down at 10:50 decided to leave at 11:40 after watching multiple bigger groups after us finish their plates and leave . Hadn't been and decided to try. I ordered the chicken Parisien sandwich with a cesar salad as a side. It was yummy. My friend ordered the chicken Friand. That was pretty good too. I liked their coffee too. My other friend ordered something else but she didn't share so can't comment on it. No dessert on this day but will return and enjoy some coffee and a pastry. Now, I've reviewed this restaurant before, the one in the Fountains. I still remember the first time I tasted this extravagant French cuisine and was blown away by the atmosphere, the recipes and the unwavering cordial service. You can imagine my ecstatic-ness at the thought of the east side getting their very one La Madeleine. And I SO couldn't wait to be the first patron to put them on the map. I'm afraid they'll be getting a lot more of my business being so close to my house. R.I.P. wallet. Located a mere walking distance from the Holiday Inn, not to mention various other popular restaurants, La Madeleine couldn't have chosen a better hotspot. Unsurprisingly, they're packed to the gills on weekends with a line longer than the Nile river. That's not to say they can't handle the popular demand, however. And if you've never been to one before, you really need to check this place out. The thing that separates this location from the one in the Fountains is the fact that they have their own building, for the most part. A stand alone unit is exactly what this place needed to facilitate more dedicated parking and more adequately accommodating outdoor seating (if you don't mind sweating your culo off in the middle of summer). Plus, you can't beat those $5 mimosas! Though I've never ordered any yet, I definitely intend to in the near future. And I don't even need to beat a dead horse by telling you how amazing their food is. Let's just say the recipes remain pretty consistent no matter which location you go to. Came here with my coworkers for a quick lunch. It was not very busy around 12pm. I was expecting there to be a line, but there hardly was. We placed our order and water and went to our table. One thing I have to say..geez, those are small water cups. Probably no more than 2 gulps when you're really thirsty and you'd have to go get more. I get they don't want to waste real glasses on the handful of people who do not have tea, or soda, but it's kind of meh having to navigate tables to get more water. Also, the plastic....such a waste. The food was good, as expected, based on previous experiences at other locations. This location os much larger than the one on Mesa or Gateway, you can tell it is new. The pastry looked delicious. The cranberry salad looked like they were leftover salad that were thrown together. They both had chicken scraps and a few sprinkles of cranberry n walnut. It was a kids portion it was pitiful. We were on a mission for a delicious pastry and by the time we arrived I was a HANGRY Mommy. We decided to have dinner before indulging in our tarts and ginger bread creme brûlée. I've never been to Madeleine and went to this location which is the newest location. Only a few months old. I had a crepe and a lemon tart desert. It's all really tasty. I was really quite pleased at the crepe recipe and I've had multiple crepes in France. The lemon tart really hit the spot after the crepe. We had brunch and was really impressed with the Quiche Lorraine. I ordered mine with a side of the Potato Gillette. The eggs were perfectly whisked as would be appropriate for French cooking. What a wonderful cafe. I enjoy going there for a hot drink and a pastry for breakfast and I especially like the soup and salad I enjoy for brunch. I have tried all the sandwiches and cannot pick out a favorite. I do enjoy the hot drinks I have tried. One thing I consider a real treat is the small morsels of bread offered freely at the condiment counter. I love that little treat! I look forward to the more temperate weather so I can dine outdoors.
