    Chicken Parisien and potato soup
    Christa M.

There was a long line when we arrived on Sunday for breakfast and it moved quickly once the second register opened up. We were a party of 5 and we all ordered different meals. I had a Chicken Parisien sandwich with a bowl of potato soup. Both the sandwich and soup were delicious. The soup came out piping hot and it had a lot of flavor. Also ordered a fruit tart and MMMMM it was yummy. Service was great and the worker that dropped off our food was friendly. The inside was clean and spacious.

They give you large portions and the pricing is affordable!! Would recommend. Though, one thing to know is that you order at the front and then take your seat.

Great food, very clean, and I love their delicious warm beverages. Service was great, staff was attentive.

Went out for lunch with gal pals. La Madeline is just perfect for lunch because it is quick. Easy. Delicious. The half sandwich and cup of soup is just enough to fill you up so you are not waddling around the rest of the afternoon looking to take a nap! Great lunch spot if you want to sit and talk to catch up.

Hadn't been and decided to try. I ordered the chicken Parisien sandwich with a cesar salad as a side. It was yummy. My friend ordered the chicken Friand. That was pretty good too. I liked their coffee too. My other friend ordered something else but she didn't share so can't comment on it. No dessert on this day but will return and enjoy some coffee and a pastry. The reason for the missed star is because I felt their menu lacked variety. Other than that the sevice was quick and the restaurant clean.

Now, I've reviewed this restaurant before, the one in the Fountains. I still remember the first time I tasted this extravagant French cuisine and was blown away by the atmosphere, the recipes and the unwavering cordial service. You can imagine my ecstatic-ness at the thought of the east side getting their very one La Madeleine. And I SO couldn't wait to be the first patron to put them on the map. I'm afraid they'll be getting a lot more of my business being so close to my house. R.I.P. wallet. Located a mere walking distance from the Holiday Inn, not to mention various other popular restaurants, La Madeleine couldn't have chosen a better hotspot. Unsurprisingly, they're packed to the gills on weekends with a line longer than the Nile river. That's not to say they can't handle the popular demand, however. And if you've never been to one before, you really need to check this place out. The thing that separates this location from the one in the Fountains is the fact that they have their own building, for the most part. A stand alone unit is exactly what this place needed to facilitate more dedicated parking and more adequately accommodating outdoor seating (if you don't mind sweating your culo off in the middle of summer). Plus, you can't beat those $5 mimosas! Though I've never ordered any yet, I definitely intend to in the near future. And I don't even need to beat a dead horse by telling you how amazing their food is. Let's just say the recipes remain pretty consistent no matter which location you go to. Once again, La Madeleine gets 5 sparkling mimosas for 5 bucks out of 5.

This is what my salad looks lime once I added dressing. Still pitiful. And yes those scraps of chicken are all we got.

I ordered 5 salads to go. Chicken Caesar Salade (3) Cranberry & Pecan Wild Field w/ Chicken (2). The caesars salad were full and looked great. The cranberry salad looked like they were leftover salad that were thrown together. They both had chicken scraps and a few sprinkles of cranberry n walnut. It was a kids portion it was pitiful. I'm very upset that we got this. I have pictures to prove it.

Chocolate tart, Lemon Tart, Gingerbread creme brûlée!

We were on a mission for a delicious pastry and by the time we arrived I was a HANGRY Mommy. We decided to have dinner before indulging in our tarts and ginger bread creme brûlée. The kids got the pizza and ham & cheese on a croissant, and I got the glazed salmon with baguette, mashed potatoes, broccoli & side Caesar salad. Everything was brought out quick, hot and absolutely DELICIOUS!! We were very satisfied with the ambiance, and the portion sizes were perfect. It was a lovely dinner. We got a chocolate tart, lemon tart and gingerbread creme brûlée to go. They were incredibly indulgent, very flavorful and visually a delight.

The food was a nice change of pace from traditional El Paso foods. Soul food eggrolls: it was like a big spoonful of granny's Sunday meal without overeating. I'd never put greens, Mac n cheese, and chicken together but somehow it worked. Understandably, it wasn't seasoned like granny's to appease the masses, but the sauce on the side elevated the taste. Shrimp and grits: such a New Orleans feel to it, a much try and f you like the taste of grits. Savory and flavorful. The steak skillet was a heaping serving of deliciousness. We definitely got our money's worth and took food home. Eating here was such a pleasant experience, we can't wait to go back and try other menu items.

TVs are located throughout, from various table angles. Our server Alex will receive 5/5 stars for his kindness, attentiveness and attention to not only our table but his very full and frequently sat section. However, when reaching out to other staff members for assistance in his absence, there were some things that fell through the cracks. Missing silverware, condiments not being present, and at times things going forgotten or unnoticed when requested. The appetizer (pictured) Philly Egg-rolls, were the best food option we received for brunch that afternoon. It was shareable between 3 adults and filling before the entrees arrived. I wouldn't order the Monte Cristo Sandwhich again, very large, dry and just didn't pair well with the potatoes and the jam offered (pictured). We did have to switch out drinks due to her taste and upkeep up the beverages. The sweet tea originally ordered did not taste well but received new drinks upon request: Mango and Strawberry lemonade. This is a family friendly place, busy, but I would give it another chance.

I had the pot roast with salad, and had bread pudding for dessert. My dining partners had a chili bowl with corn muffin, a Denver omelette with hash browns and corned beef hash with potatoes, scrambled eggs and added a waffle, because WAFFLES!! Oh and they split a chocolate cream pie. So my salad was amazing, forgot to take a pic. The ranch dressing here is really good. Ripe to and crisp romaine. And nice cucumbers. My pot roast was so tender it was simply falling apart, the veggies under were nice. The gravy was yummy, I had to ask for some extra. The green beans were simply amazing here. And they had corn on the cob!!! Bi-colored, sweet, tender-crisp when you took a bite! SO GOOD. My dining partners liked their food, the Denver omelette was a picture to look at and huge. The only real complaint there was the has was just too dry. It was just shredded corned beef and small cubed potatoes. It needed something to bring it all together, she said. She didn't finish it. The 3 of them split a chocolate cream pie. It looked very nice but when cutting into it, to share slices, that was impossible, it was not set inside, it was very runny. Perhaps the waiter grabbed one that had just been made and not one that had chilled long enough, but they ate it with spoons and loved the flavor. My bread pudding was spectacular. I love Bread Pudding anyway, but this was very very good but the third bite in, it was cold, not just refrigerator cold but super cold. So I called the waiter back over and asked him to please reheat it because it was like near frozen in the middle. Which he happily did and also added some fresh whipped cream for me. So a couple of miscues with the desserts but all in all a nice birthday celebration. MAGGIE, I know you wanted me to email you, on my previous review, HOWEVER, your email address you gave bounced back as undeliverable or not an email address on several email options I have. Just to let you know, I tried. I was going to just come talk to you in person, but today was not the day to do that sort of thing. Could you check and see if your email address is correct? Thank you! Love the BBD! Will be back again.

I saw some pictures of a new brunch place in the Far East off Zaragoza, and it looked good. It's hidden in the back next to Sky Zone and across the street from Oasis Lanes, so finding it was a little hard. When I walked in I didn't realize it was so small because I had convinced some of the girls to come to try it out with me from the Peachlab workouts. They wanted to come out to celebrate Nurse B's birthday as well as mine because that's the type of supportive community they are, but most are vegan, so I try to find places that have vegan food alongside others so that we can dine together as a group. When I saw that Boca Brava had vegan tacos on the menu, I was really excited. What I didn't know was that on Sundays they only have a Sunday Brunch menu and it doesn't have the regular items. The vegan tacos $3 each consisted of mushrooms, bell peppers, and onions (grilled and pickled), my friends enjoyed it with a variety of salsas. Luckily for us, our waitress was amazing and she got the staff to make us some vegan tacos. They were beyond accommodating and I appreciate that. Because they obviously were in a rush to make items that weren't on the menu that day, the tacos didn't come out perfectly and they're willing to redo it and also not charge us for it. My breakfast plate of 2 eggs, hashbrowns, one bacon slice, and 3 corn pancakes (with slightly spicy maple syrup) was $15. Mimosas were $3. My hashbrowns were really greasy, but the over-easy eggs and crispy bacon were cooked perfectly. The best part was the corn pancakes, I don't think I've had a lighter pancake but with substance. It wasn't doughy which is usually why I avoid pancakes, but crispy and light, probably because of the cornmeal. It was delicious. My other friend ordered chilaquiles and said that it was delicious and not mushy. We also ended up getting 2 free chocolate cakes because they overheard us saying that it was our birthday. Our waitress even took our picture, but I got cropped out, lol, my bad I didn't check the pictures until I got home. For a new place willing to admit they can be better and put the customers first, I really think they'll do well. It's refreshing and it'll bring back repeat customers. If I lived in the far East this would be one of my regular places. Boca brava (915) 219-8700 1691 N Zaragoza Rd STE 5, El Paso, TX 79936 https://maps.app.goo.gl/exW9sS3pcPrAvNzZ6
