Hey remote workers, this is probably not the place for you. There are no electrical outlets anywhere which means they don't want people lingering. Coffee and service were fine. I couldn't find signage for wifi access & when I asked for it they said it was on my receipt. 5 stars for the ambience and atmosphere! My wife and I loved the coziness of it inside with its current Halloween decor. We weren't sure what to expect driving up to it for the first time given that it is located in a shopping center. Inside isn't super big so if you're coming and it's busy be aware that there are 5-6 2-seaters (can probably be pushed together) and a couple 4 to 6-seaters. We came in at about 7:45 in the morning on a Thursday and were the only ones inside at the time. As time went on more people ended up showing up and taking tables. I ordered an "Iced Pistachio Latte"--not a big fan of the metallic straws, but thankfully they had regular straws available. The latte was good, but not great in my personal opinion. It was creamy and sweet but something was lacking. Loved the cup it came in, going with the Halloween vibe. I had waffles and a eggnog latte and my wife shared the waffles but had smores hot cocoa. The waffles were good and so was the latte but the hot cocoa didn't really have much of a smores flavor. But service there was quick and awesome, the place had great seating and if you needed something to do the had a little book for drawing and they had games. And they sold good honey as well! First review of 2024 and could not be more excited for it! I been to the Hive previously for a quick coffee fix to go since I'm almost always running errands whenever in the area. Today, although I did have errands, I decided to enjoy my coffee that much more by sitting in since I remember how cute and cozy the place is. Love it when the staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their products! I was tryna find a perfect pastry to eat with my latte and the girl was super helpful with suggestions. I made sure they can do a lavender latte with oat milk too and she happily said yes. I went to use the bathroom and even though I didn't ask, the same girl was extra helpful and explained exactly how to get there. It turns out there's also a cyber cafe in the back too! How fun and cool!! I returned to my table with the absolute CUTEST latte I have ever had ! And the croissant was perfectly toasted and seasoned with honey and cinnamon. I can honestly say that I really look forward to coming here whenever in El Paso. They were the first coffeehouse that I found that had a lavender latte. My NEW favorite is the coconut latte ( I haven't found anywhere in So. Calif, that makes it). My most recent visit last month I had stopped on my way to the airport and so glad I went with the baristas recommendation of the turkey, cheddar and green apple sandwich ( so fresh, crisp and actually refreshing ) and can't wait to have it again. The hive is one of my husband and I's favorite coffee spots in east El Paso! The baristas are extremely friendly and even offer really great (and tasty!!!) recommendations! My husband asked for a vanilla latte one day and they recommended him the tiramisu latte to try. This latte is honestly to die for it is so creamy with just the right about of sweetness. (This is now our go-to order!) I also love the ambiance of the coffee shop, as it's themed and they have cute Halloween decor up right now. I also love that the baristas add a special touch to each of the drinks by writing or drawing something cute on the cups. The last few times we have gone, we have gotten cute Halloween themed drawings on our cups which is so personable and makes you smile. Me and my boyfriend tried it for very first time, the lady with red welcomed us and was very nice and helpful with our order, she recommended rose coffee which had me hesitant at first until I received it and it's amazing and different! Even something as simple as caramel frappe has a great taste to it as well but different than other cafe shops. The pastries are fresh and soft as well! I am a big fan of this cafe to hang out and get some work done! I've had a plain Earl Grey and also one with almond milk & their homemade lavender syrup. I'm pretty sure they use loose leaf tea and they steep it for you! The first time I had the Turkey Apple croissant with chipotle Mayo (lots of turkey & the Mayo was really good-they make it here), and the next time I had a toasted plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese (they had everything or cinnamon raisin bagels available, too, plus plain cream cheese). The internet is good, and I appreciate they have decent sized tables to work at! Even the two-seaters on the wall have a good amount of table space, and the wall is lined with outlets. For a coffee obsessed place like El Paso, I'm surprised that it's so hard to find affogato! Well I kinda found a place that does it, and extremely well! You need excellent expresso with the machinery to extract and make the most crema to get the blend of sweet, creamy, bracingly strong Italian dessert coffee. I stopped by The Hive Java Lounge after someone suggested that I stop by to try their Christmas in July specials. I didn't quite make it in time, but got their Tres Leches ice coffee and that was so good, the creaminess and sweetness was on point and it ended with a sharp note of coffee, this is a good iced coffee. I started talking to Mark about all the places I've gone to get great roasted coffee, like Costa Rica, Vietnam, Hawaii, etc. Since he was a big old coffee nerd like me and we traded recommendations and the merits of different beans and coffee filtration from Jamaican blue mountain coffee to the merits of Arabica and Robusta. After a while I mentioned that I haven't seen affogato offered anywhere and he enthusiastically said that he's made it here but only for himself. I immediately said well, since he knows how to make it, I'll order some ice cream from GoPuff and have it delivered to the store along with my groceries and he can make some for me and the other workers since they've never had it. My GoPuff delivery driver found me inside and we got to making the affogato. It was so worth it and I hope they offer it in the future. The store is laid out very well and it connects to a really cool gaming center and I saw people ordering snacks and coffee while gaming. The best part is that because they're connected to the gaming center, the wifi is super fast here...a 6. So I was able to upload photos and get my work done in a flash. Super cool little coffee shop! The wife and I were running some errands and wanted to grab a coffee. I checked Yelp for something close, it led us here, and we thankful it did! This place is like a breath of fresh air, the people working here are friendly, helpful and welcoming. My iced pistachio latte was on point and delicious and best of all they have healthy snacks. I don't know where they get their macarons, but they are literally to die for. And that says a lot because I don't particularly like macarons, but my daughter ordered some and I could not stop eating them. The puddings/morning oats are delicious too, I tried the Elvis and actually took the other one to go I think the Hawaiian and had it the next day it was delicious. They have great tasting espresso and their specialty drinks on "The Queens Favorite" menu are lovely. Not student friendly. Highly recommend Summer Moon Coffee shop or Global Reach Coffee. As a family we always try and support local shops. I came here to study for a week, from 8am- 11:45am. The manager would give me "not so nice" stares but since I was so close to my daughters school, I would stay and mind my own business. Two ladies came into the shop before they even ordered the staff came up to me told me to move from a bigger table to a small table because a "big group" came in. I came before these two women and ordered from the coffee shop following their rules "no outside food or drinks". In the middle of my live class session, I left because of how uncomfortable that was. I really felt discriminated against. I'm a nursing student all my papers and books were out, I sat in my car and completed my lecture and left. read more

First of all, I just want to say that this is a true hidden gem of El Paso. I love that it is right next to an internet café, but gives off a completley different vibe. The girls who worked there were so incredibly sweet and helped me find the perfect coffee, even giving me samplrs of new food/drink items. You can find many unique flavors here, that I cannot find back home (North Carolina). I had a quad shot on ice mixed with the tres leches cream. The person who took my order answered any questions I had and made great recommendations. My order was served quickly.
