Applied and accepted a job at Hurts Donut in El Paso based on a posted pay range of about $10-$14/hour. I asked for 12 because why not? They said, we can't do 12 (I figured as much) and our new hires generally start "low". During the hiring process, I was NOT told the actual starting pay was $8/hour during a probation period. (I assumed "low" meant the $10 on the 10 to 14 range I saw on the posted job listing. Shame on me for not realizing the use of logic was optional ). That only came up after I had already accepted the job and started onboarding. It was actually my coworkers that said the new hires started $8 an hour. That's when I asked about pay clarification. "$8" never came up during the interview. When I brought it up, it was THEN confirmed that all new hires start at $8/hour for a few weeks and can get a raise after that. I was also told tips factor into "effective hourly pay," but tips aren't guaranteed and fluctuate too much to realistically count on when you're trying to budget your life. Telling me that I "technically" make $10 an hour with tips is BS. I "technically" have bills to pay and I can't budget my finances based on a technicality. **And if any of you reading this are teenagers looking to get a job here, she specifically told me she doesn't like hiring teenagers because they're unreliable. Yet when I approached her with a very professional message regarding my pay concerns she ghosted me for 3 days, and counting. Who's acting like a teenager now? (No offense to any of you, just running with what she said). I'm not mad about there being a probation period or a starting rate. I'm frustrated that the actual starting pay wasn't clearly communicated upfront compared to the advertised range. I took the job based on that posted range, and the reality didn't match what was presented when I applied. If the 10 to $14 an hour range doesn't match the pay in El Paso then that needs to be the very first thing you bring up during the interview. She said that that posting was from corporate and doesn't reflect the local pay. Maybe lead with that next time. If you just need a few extra bucks on the side, or you're just starting out with your first job, then as Krusty the Clown says, "It's not just good, it's good enough." read more

Super cute, hipster donut shop! A great place to take someone visiting out of town, as there aren't many locations on the west or Midwest. Primarily on the east coat according to their map. My family enjoyed this treat very much! The swing seating was a huge hit. Even the bathrooms are cute and also clean haha. The apple fritter is massive and for sharing for sure! It's a little over $5 and I think it's worth it. My family of 7 ended up ordering a 1/2 dozen for $16.95 and adding an additional. The Oreo cheesecake looked delish. I wish they had strawberry cheesecake and I would have been all over that. I'm a toffee fan so I ordered the English gentleman and it presented well but just tasted like pure sugar. Steer clear of that one. They tried to kill me hahaha. 2 of my daughters ordered a variation of the pink lemonade. The one with the powder is a lot more sour. My youngest son loved the dirt donut. Great outing! They never close and advertise that they're open 25/8, so pop in anytime! read more

I was in the area and checked out Hurts Donuts. It was impressive to see the store. Not only is it locally owned by a former El Paso educator, but the place was busy even though it opened weeks ago. There were about 9 people working but maybe more. We ordered several Donuts and my wife bought a Hurts Donut shirt. There was also a swing set in front for kids to ride. In addition to Donuts the store also sells ice cream. Donuts and ice cream is a great combo. I recommend checking this place out. read more

If you love a variety of donuts, and I do mean a variety, then this is the place to come to. The inside of the shop to have a super fun vibe to it The number of different donuts is mind-blowing. I tried the apple pie donut and the apple fritter and both were amazing. I also tried the Twix donut, which was covered in pieces of Twix candy bar, but somehow it didn't taste much like Twix. So many more donuts to try and I will definitely be back to try more. read more

Hurts Donut feels like the sort of place that shouldn't exist, and yet thank God it does. The cherry fritter was enormous, golden and crisp at the edges, soft in the middle, and surprisingly refined for something that looked like it came from a cartoon. The bacon donut was the real revelation. Smoky, salty, not too sweet, and absolutely covered in bacon. The staff were quick and pleasant, no fuss, no show. The walls are colorful murals and such a fun atmosphere with swings to sit on while enjoying your donuts. This is a new place, franchise of a national chain from MO, I believe. It's friendly, well lit and cold. Especially this time of the year, it is cold. And loud. There is a large choice of donuts and other related pastries. I've tried the strawberry filled, the Boston cream, the banana cream, blueberry streusel and cherry streusel. The strawberry jam one was delicious. The Boston cream was good until I got to the frosting. Waaaaayyyy too much of it and wayyy to sweet. The banana cream had more than 1/8th of an inch frosting on it, that was as flavorless as it was white. I had to take it off the donut, and enjoy the filling, or else it was going to end up in the trash. The "cherry" streusel tasted like bubble gum, and the only thing cherry in it was the color. The blueberry streusel was ok, but again, the sugar on top was too much. I know donuts are sweet, but when the flavor of the actual donut and filling is overwhelmed by the frosting, it's no longer a donut. Might as well eat an entire jar of raw sugar. It's nice if you want a treat, but I wouldn't indulge every day. Also, the donuts are almost $4 a piece. read more

Good tasting donuts but the price for these donuts is outrageous. The shop is open 24 hours a day. They also have designer beverages but those to are expensive. If the prices were a little more reasonable I think there would be more traffic. read more
