Sadly, there seems to have been a decline since my last visit. The donuts were very good, not gon' lie. Can't go wrong with a classic glaze - fresh and fluffy! But, the establishment doesn't seem as well kept as before. Saw a fly flying inside the donut area as well. Isn't there usually a glass or door behind the counter to keep that from happening. That grossed me out. 3-stars because it still hit, but I wouldn't return or bring anyone here. Not sure if the family lives here or not. We heard some kids in the back and the tables supposedly for customers had toys on them as if they were occupied, so me and my family took our donuts to go. Okay, the shop is connected to some other business that were closed and we got here around 5:45 am and my partner thought it looked a little sketchy. Well, it turned out okay and the kolaches, donuts, coffee and juice that we ordered were all absolutely excellent! We are from out of town and didn't know what kolaches were. They were delicious! Our donuts were tasty, light, sweet and pillowy. If you like the non-cake donuts like I do, you will enjoy these! My orange, pineapple and beet juice was delicious as well! Went back 2 years after my previous review and can say these are the BEST kolaches in El Paso hands down. The bread is DIVINE.. the quality of the ingredients are fresh and they DO NOT skimp out on the fillings. See my pictures!!! SOOOO GOOOOD!!! Really good donuts, fresh kolaches, and a big range of options on drinks including coffee

I decided to try out the newest doughnut shop by the Upper Valley and now I regret it. I ordered half a dozen and although they lack variety in flavors, they were fresh and delicious. I also ordered two specialty teas. however, I received 4 small prepackaged cranapple juice drinks and was charged for the specialty teas!!! The dasher says the man at the. doughnut shop said they didn't have the specialty juices so he sent the store bought ones instead. I am furious because I was given the wrong order and charged unlawfully. read more

It has been months since I wanted to try this place but every time I visited they were close. With this said, their hours change often. Other than that I had a very positive experience. The parking lot at the mini strip mall they are located is ample. They accept apple pay or card. They have a couple of booths to sit at, and all their donuts and kolaches look wonderful. Let me start by saying that I've never made a U-turn so quick and hard in my life . Kolaches aren't a thing in El Paso like they are in San Antonio where I lived for 5 years. So when I saw this place as I was driving by, I had to make the biggest U-Turn in the world. I got a Sausage and Cheese Kolache and a Jelly Filled Donut. That donut never made it outside of the store in order to take a pic for this review‍‍. I'm just saying it was like a pillow of dough filled with lemon . The kolache was amazing. The dough for the roll was amazing! The egg and cheese was also tasty. Now that I know where this place is, I'll def have to come more frequently. read more

Thats pretty amazing nowadays. They have a classic bakery taste, really good flavor. I'll need to try the teas next time. The guy that was there was super friendly. Friendly service, cute place, but those kolaches aren't kolaches. If you're putting them in your store's title, you should probably stay true to what they actually are, and these aren't it. While the flaky pastry was nice, it's not the classic Czech kolache pastry, and the weenie inside was definitely not the good sausage you'd expect. All the savory pastries reminded me more of what you'd see at an 85° Bakery, which is Japanese. I love 85° and all its flaky milk bread, but it's definitely not a Czech kolache. We got one bear claw too, and the donut itself was great, but the pie filling was way too sweet. There is obviously a talented baker at that place who knows how to make donut dough & flaky dough really well, so I can see great things for this place if they focus on what they're good at. read more

In the Far East today and stopped by newly opened donut shop. They have Kolaches (hot dog, cheese, cheese and jalapeno) and freshly made donuts. Definitely clean and new, they don't have boba until tomorrow so I was disappointed since I really wanted to try it. I got a cheese/hotdog kolache and 1/2 dozen donut holes. Everything came out to be $3.80 with tax. They take cards and Google Pay etc. The kolache was super fluffy and they warm it up for you in the microwave. I can see this being a great grab and go breakfast place since they also have breakfast sandwiches. I wish there was a closer one to the Westside. This place reminds me of the Cambodian donut places in SoCal. I hope they bring the legendary blueberry donuts like at M&M's in Anaheim. They're open 7 days a week from 5am-2pm. Lost a loyal customer This place started off so well. We'd stop by every single week. Sometimes more. The kolaches were the best I've had. Soft fluffy pillowy dough - and the doughnuts too! Walked in today, the case was almost empty. I didn't leave because I came mainly for the kolaches. Ordered a dozen. The girl warmed them up. Once we got home, we opened the box and we were really disappointed. I don't know whether she heated them up too long, or if they were stale and old. They were hard and dry. The hot dog inside was also dry. The bread was so dry, that you couldn't even pull it apart. It was like leftover crust from a pizza. I want to rate it one star, but I am rating it a 2, only because my previous experiences were good and also because the man who used to work there (who I assume is the owner, because he talked about a new location he planned to open up) is really nice and gave us free donut holes once. I really hope that they get things together. I'm thinking about driving back to return these, I don't know. If they reach out to reviewers for a coupon or something, I would consider going back and giving it another try. But until then, I don't plan on returning. read more

Went to get a half dozen kolaches and half dozen donuts. These kolaches, to me, are better than the ones I get at Southern Maid. They are certainly bigger. Wow what a drop off in operation here. This place opened with a bang about 2 months ago and I thought it would do well since most people want the convenience of a donut shop within a quick drive distance. I thought the donuts were pretty good, just s bit pricey for the low overhead setup of the shop. Just came by to get donuts on a Sunday morning at 9:50 am (the second busiest day for donuts next to Saturday mornings). I walked in to a completely empty case except a tray of croissants and kolaches that are obviously the last choice of customers. I was desperate and settled for a few overpriced croissants. Looks like this place is hanging on by a thread to operate causing need for another stronger competitor to come in and take the business and thrive. read more

Apple fritters are my jam. I went here on Friday morning (11/15/24) and bought apple fritters along with a few other assorted donuts. I was convinced that I'd found my new favorite donut spot. The donuts were soft and fresh, but most importantly, the fritters were amazing - light and fluffy with the perfect amount of apple goodness on the inside, with that perfectly golden brown, crisp and slightly crackly outside. I went back the next morning (Saturday 11/16/24) and purchased the same order. Unfortunately, this time the fritters were hard, flat and greasy. The greasiness actually made me sick after a couple bites, so they went into the garbage. I was so disappointed. I will say that the other donuts and bars were just as fresh as the previous day. Whats even more disappointing, is that I went back Sunday morning, and the owner acted as if he did not care about my bad experience and only stated that the fritters are always fresh as he turned and walked away. Stopped by to see if they had the lemon kolache but was advised they only make the "pig in a blanket" version ( insert disappointed expression). Decided to grab a chocolate raised donut instead and my disappointed expression became a grin. The freshness and texture of the donut was very good that I did not care that the chocolate glaze was a little too sweet. Will definitely try this establishment again when I'm back in town.
