February 2021 Visited "El Paso's Bakery" after passing by Fort Street and finding the original bakery I was planning to purchase my sweets from was closed due to COVID19. El Paso's Bakery saved the day. They had everything available from pan dulce to tortillas, chicharrones, totopos, etc still serving their clients with proper health measures. All the pan dulce and bolillos were recently out of the oven. Everything tasted authentic and fresh. I purchased 7 huge pieces of pan dulce and for that it was just $7 plus change. They accept apple pay, and card. Friendly parking.

I have passed El Paso's Bakery a few times and have been curious each time telling myself I will stop the next time. I finally stopped in last week and I wish I did much sooner! The selection and friendliness here beats any other bakery I have been to in town. I love the self serve for bakery items and the precautions they have in place currently for covid. All of their bakery items are very affordable and the tortillas...oh my goodness. Hands down the best tortillas I have bought since moving to El Paso! If you have not been to El Paso's Bakery it is well worth the trip!

I will say that this is my first time ordering a cake from this bakery so I really didn't know what to expect. The people there were nice and accommodating which I really appreciate. They were able to come up with design as close to what I originally liked which is awesome. The only and the biggest problem I had was the day of my son's birthday when we cut through the cake it was extremely dry. The kids didn't even want to eat it as well as some of the adults. Very disappointing!!

Stopped by looks like a nice family place. Everything is home made here. Doughnuts are great not at all like you get at a chain. Service and s really non existent, not helpful at all, the girl just stayed behind the register even we kept asking questions.

A lot of their food were broken or fell apart when you try to picked them up. They don't have a price list for anything and when you are paying there's not a customer screen to show what's been rung up. The workers are not helpful at all. And they over charge me a chocolate milk so I had to go back to the store! What the second picture shows is what they charge in the receipt ‍

On Piedras, what else do you do? Follow the road to this bakery! First off---nice view! Opened the door and smelled the freshly baked bread! Unfortunately, there wasn't a lot of options left when we got there around 3pm. Took a tray and started my rounds- lemon biscochio looked amazing so picked a few of them. The bread were rock hard!! What?!!! I took the one that was still a bit soft that was almost as big as my head. Ventured to the right and got a mango empanada and a brownie. All that for $2.63! Yay! As soon as I paid, I popped one biscochio in my mouth-- wow! It melted! That was good! I wanted more-- I should've gotten more. The brownie was gooey and tasted like it came from an expensive bakery. The frosting was a little too sweet so I scrapped it off and all was good in the neighborhood! The chocolate flavor was intense! Just what I wanted. The mango empanada was also great! Not too sweet and the dough was flaky but held its own. The bread? Hard and meh. Maybe toast it?! Not bad for the amount I paid but would love to get some softer bread next time?!Maybe I'll come in early.

Biscochos

Just stopped by some biscochos as I'm having friends and family over for Mexican food tomorrow evening. This small box which has about 30-35 small cookies was almost $7! What a ripoff - sold by the pound and it's only half a pound. Biscochos are over $10 a pound? Won't be coming here again.

I had my son's cake done by El Paso's Bakery and it was such a great cake! They delivered, set up and even added some extras to make the cake look even better. My son was so happy about his cake. Ordering was fast, easy and everything was done exactly as we wanted it too. Was so delicious as well! We will definitely get the rest of our son's cakes done here (or for any special occasion for that matter). The service was professional and loved the convenience of paying over the phone. The price for the cake matches the work and detail they put into it (but it's also not overpriced). Overall, loved the service we (and the delicious cake) we received for our son's birthday.

Having recently moved to El Paso from Montréal, a city teeming with quality pastry shops…read more(especially french pâtisseries), I was on the lookout for a competent pastry shop here in town as soon as I landed. My first discovery was Belle Sucre, which, while struggling ever so slightly with actual french pastries (and french grammar, "sucre," a masculine noun, being "beau," not "belle"), excels at putting a french twist on american desserts. My second discovery was Orange Peel, a pastry shop that could stand toe-to-toe with Montreal's more eclectic (and less traditional) pastry shops (e.g., Pâtisserie Rhubarbe), were it to spontaneously relocate there. Inside this diminutive (but oh so quaint) pastry shop stands a refrigerated glass display filled with triple-threat confections that a) are simultaneously playful and homey in appearance, b) demonstrate exquisite texture (a feat made all the more surprising by the fact that many of the confections are gluten-free), and c) feature creatively combined and expertly balanced flavours that bring into play natural aromas and just enough sweetness. (Indeed, in a rare show of restraint for an american dessert establishment, sweetness is here kept on a leash, letting instead aromas come to the forefront of the flavour experience.) Although pastries on offer change regularly, they always come across as completely thought-through and carefully put-together, as if the recipes had been worked on and perfected over years. Indeed, there is an effortless quality to how the one single chef behind Orange Peel comes up with and executes new recipes, one that testifies to the extent of her pastry passion, knowledge, and skills. To top it all off, she is extremely friendly and always a joy to talk to and discuss her work with. Fortement recommandé!

I kept meaning to write a review for Luscious Cupcakes/Custom Cakes! I've bought cakes and cupcakes…read morefrom them over the last couple of years. A couple of friends recommended Luscious and I was impressed! I eventually had to try them out for myself and I'm so glad I did! Everything always comes out looking amazing and tastes great! The cakes/cupcakes always taste fresh. April the owner has always been really organized and nice to work with. I've never had any issues with her or my orders. She's located in Horizon City so I usually have her deliver to me. She charges between $5-20 extra for delivery. The cost depends on what side of town it's going to. The last time I ordered a cake was just this week. I ordered a birthday cake for my mom. I've baked her cakes in the past but I wanted something super nice and creative. My cakes taste alright but the presentation is sometimes questionable. Lol. April can create pretty much anything, especially if you give her a photo. I'm always impressed with her creativity! Most of my family members are diehard Dallas Cowboys fans (myself included!). My mom is probably one of the biggest Dallas Cowboys fans I know so I went with this theme. She collects Dallas Cowboys mementos and pretty much anything she can get her hands on. I found a photo of a similar Dallas Cowboys cake. April added more detail to my mom's cake than I expected! I ordered a vanilla with strawberry filling cake. It was delicious! I especially liked the jelly filling inside of the cake. The frosting was sweet but not too much. The chocolate covered strawberries on top of the cake also tasted great. The strawberries tasted really fresh. The chocolate was a tad bit sweet but it meshed well with the strawberry. The flavors balanced themselves out. My mom loved the cake. She almost didn't want to cut it. I'll be ordering from Luscious Cupcakes/Custom Cakes again. April also makes cake pops, pies, pretzel rods and lots more. You can find her on Facebook or Instagram.
