My sister goes to here every Wednesday and picks up a bean burrito. These are the best bean burritos I've ever had. They are probably full of lard because once they get cold they solidify! Regardless they are delicious. For my birthday we ordered some bean burritos from here and some pastries. I typically don't like Mexican pastries because they are not sweet enough for my sweet tooth. Mostly dry and tasteless. But this pastry I had from this place was delicious! I had what I think is a Piedra. Covered with chocolate. The plus was that it had raisins and nuts in it which I love! It was sweet, and I only ate half because it was very big and heavy. I would definitely go here again for burritos and pastries. One of my favorite bakeries in El Paso for sweet bread. They have two locations on Yarbrough and Zaragoza. They also serve food, like burritos which they make with their very own tortillas. I ordered a barbacoa one today which was great. They also have menudo on the weekends. The staff was only allowing 4 people inside at a time due to COVID-19 and everyone was wearing masks. I've been a customer for years and I have never been more disgusted by the way they handled business this holiday season. They are selling 6 tamales for eleven dollars or a dozen for seventeen. Tell me why they are only packing bags 6 tamales and stopped making the dozen... Then when customers wanted the dozen they are then sold 2 bags of 6 tamales for twenty two dollars?! If you were to ever go on a carb splurge and put yourself into a food coma then you simply have to come here. The bolillos, francesitos, and pan dulce is delicious enough to sell your pinky finger for an endless supply. The bread products are made fresh daily and they literally are a taste of heaven. On the weekends you can actually take your own pot and get menudo which is a must whenever one visits El Paso. Terrible experience, I got there and order 4 burritos, they CHARGE ME FIRST, then after patiently waiting on showroom for food already paid, 2 employees start to look up on me, one of them starts to laugh at me trying to provoke an issue, I did ignore them until I see one of them go to the back and told the lady preparing my food to HOLD it, this is ridiculous I saw my 4 burritos done after they took care of 3 customers who came in after me, terrible service tried to get my money back and they denied. My dad & i stopped by this bakery for some sweet bread and bolios. The instant we walked in we were not greeted, as we asked for some bolios we were told the kitchen was closed although they close at 9:30 & it was only 6:30. We proceeded to order some sweet bread & the employee attending to us was rather unfriendly & irritated with us while we ordered. As we gathered our stuff to leave, I HAD TO TAKE THE INITIATIVE TO SAY THANK YOU FIRST, because we were about to walk out in dead silence, customer service skills are 0/10. ZERO STARS the worst customer service and tamales. We got undercooked tamales and we literally just stepped outside and checked them in our car because it was so full inside and due to covid we didn't want to expose our food in the open. The pan dulce! The tortillas! The francesitos! The menudo! What bad thing is there to say about a place where a line of sleepy (possibly hungover) people clutching their own pots snakes around three times and then out the door every Sunday morning? Seriously, WHAT? The scene I just described is a typical Sunday morning ritual for regulars, who tote their own pots there only to be filled with spicy, delicious menudo. Every time I tell my friends about such madness, they look at me as though I am making it up. No folks, only in El Paso, and in the Lower Valley, no less. When I lived back home, I couldn't wait for each Sunday to roll around, so I could enjoy some of the bakery's menudo, along with some of the best francesitos I've had in my life (I'm not sure if this is the proper name of the bread, but that's what we call it). The francesitos, or loaves of bread, sold at this bakery are to die for when it is fresh. When it is not, it is still fantastico! I have never had any bread anywhere that are good as the Valentine's ones. And then there is the pan dulce (sweet bread)!!! From the black and white cookies to the donuts to the red ball covered in coconut and with a layer of chocolate in between, their pan dulce is THE ABSOLUTE BEST! I always buy a bag full of the stuff to take home with me to Austin, where I usually gobble it up within a day. Their breakfast burritos are served in the most delicious tortillas you will find in town. I recommend all of their breakfast burritos -- truly deliciouso! The bakery itself is an unpretentious little spot that basically just has a counter with the pan dulce and a small waiting area with refrigerators of drinks along the sides. You go up to the counter and order what you want. That's it. No fluff, no over-the-top service. But that's okay, since they are all about their products. The wait time can get a little long, but it's nothing compared to their Sunday morning rush. Top-notch Mexican bakery. That's really all that needs to be said about this place. read more

But the only thing that I'm NOT COMFORTABLE is the fact (REAL FACT) I customers are paying with debit or credit- they might get charge twice! They did a couple of times! This bakery is a rare treat in El Paso. From the Pan Frances, the conchas, menudo and even the barbacoa it was soooo delicious. They're open super early till 9:30 too which is convenient. My friend's mom served me these very blandish, very soft, very squishy rolls back home when I visited last month.... they were so good, I ranted and raved about them at dinner... lol when they came up to see me a few weeks ago.... her mom packed them w 2 dozen rolls!!!! We were in El Paso recently (during their mini heat wave) and Valentines Bakery was recommended by a relative, it was the best recommendation i had. I was in search of some freshly made flour tortillas turns out these were the bomb. My parents are from El Chuco and I remember mother making the best tortillas; these came close. I didn't get a chance to sample their pan dulce, I sure would have loved to. Next time im in El Chuco, I know where i'll be. Here in California, we get plastic chewables instead of tortillas, considering there are many brands, they all suck. I have gone to this bakery since I was young. I think the menudo is delicious, but this past weekend my sister ate a brisket burrito with a mouse in it. The owner said it was an accident and decided to just give my family and I $20. I am not sure who the new owners are, but obviously the workers are not treated well for a mouse to be in a burrito. I never ever believed that a freak accident like that would happen but it did. We reported it to food inspection. No trip to El Paso is ever complete if we don't make it to Valentine's Bakery on Yarbrough by the Border Freeway. Their burritos are absolutely something out of this world. I think I have gone through the entire menu and I have not been dissapointed once, but if I would have to choose my favorites I have to say, Chicharron, Chile Relleno and Brisket are on the top of my list, but Lengua, and Verde are not bad at all. On the other hand, I'm not a Menudo kind of guy but if you go there on Saturday or Sunday mornings you actuall see a line that you could thing they're giving things away for free but no it's the line to get yhe Menudo, so I had to try the famous Valentine's Menudo and I have to say it was awsome with a little bit of lime, cebollita picada and oregano, mmm DE-LI-CIO-SO. Today we stopped at the Valentine bakery like we do every other Friday and we had a really bad experience we ordered sweet bread and 3 burritos. Gaby who took our order bagged our bread and never gave it to us and left it on her side of the counter, and another employee grabbed it and gave it to another customer we are at the register paying for it when we finished paying we asked for our bread, gaby had said she had put it there and points at the counter and told me that she had said that is your bread and that I looked at her then I told her did I answer no that means I didn't understand you or heard what you said she then ignored me and kept on taking orders so I asked am I getting my bread she said no so I told her to give me my money back for my whole order. At that time the manager paty started yelling at me that they can't give me my money back that we are responsible for not taking care of our bread I said to her the bread was never handed to us we always pay first before you give us the bread the lady was yelling really rude I told her I needed to talk to the manager or owner she said I am the manager so at the end we talked to one of the bakers and he gave us our bread. Its sad that we were treated this way because we love this place we are their every other Friday. We are never going back we were really embarrassed in front all the other customers. read more
