Tried Famous Dave's EP location for the first time yesterday with my family and had a great experience! We happened to go on the day they were having their "All star BBQ" contest and just happened to miss the main event. Surprisingly it wasn't too jam packed for them having such a big event going on but I wasn't complaining. We were a party of 3 and got seated right away. Our waitress was very good and attentive. She made sure to explain their 3 different BBQ flavors offered although we ended up trying them all anyways with the free Dave's seasoned chips she brought to our table. Definitely recommend the sweet one! For our entrees I ordered their BBQ pulled chicken sandwich with a side of Dave's Mac and cheese as well as a cornbread muffin, my husband got the Sliced pork sandwich with a side of potato salad and my son got their mini corn dogs. Everything tasted great! I do highly recommend the pulled chicken sandwich, they had just the right ratio of chicken to the sandwich buns. And their mac and cheese was DELICIOUS! Had a bit of a kick to it since it does have jalapeños in the recipe but I didn't mind at all. I also tried the potato salad my husband had with his entree and it was definitely five star. My husband said he enjoyed his meal and my son liked his corn dogs as well so I consider that a win! The only thing I will mention is that the atmosphere was a tad bit too loud for my liking. It may have been because they had the All Star event going on so there was music blaring outside but inside the restaurant was also very loud. Just my personal preference though, it may not bother others. Other than that I definitely would return again! I loved everything that I tried on my first visit, not to mention it was only around $40 for 3 people which is awesome! With the price of inflation these days I feel like going out to eat has mostly been averaging around double the price so I love that it was very affordable for us. If you have high blood pressure DO NOT EAT HERE!!! I love barbecue. But this is definitely not it!! I could not finish my food because it was like someone dumped a box of salt into my ribs. Soooo, to start off-the place was pretty busy buuuut, there seemed to be plenty of servers hanging out back in the kitchen(to which the doors were closed shortly after we were seated). No manager on sight seemingly. There were tables that needed to be bussed and people in Famous Dave's T-shirts just standing around...a far cry from when I was in the food service industry many moons ago. Dirty glasses stacked on the bar and stuff all over the floor. Clearly no one is cleaning or paying attention to the seating areas...having said that -THE FOOD was totally worth the other stuff! ! The chicken & ribs were FALL OFF THE bONe!!What was supposed to be hot was steaming & crispy; while what was supposed to be cold was perfection! Chef's kiss to the cooks today! We had a to-go order that was messed up but the server was quick in correcting it. We chose this location over the George Dieter location because of service and food history...the food was on point! The service was not, but, everyone is entitled to an off day! Come out to the Montana location of Famous Dave's, maybe it'll be cleaned up by the time you get here for dinner! Today I went to eat with my family and everything was good. The food was amazing and everything was going great. UNTIL, when it was time to pay. My mom gave the waiter $100 for a $76.21 meal, and he asked me if she needed change. And she said yes, and instead of giving her $23.79 of change. He came back with 7$, my sister asked the waiter that we were missing change. And he asked US if WE were sure if we didn't make a mistake or if we took it. He also said that he "left" 24$ but he only left 7$. My mom asked if she could talk to the manager and he said yes. They took awhile and when we finally talked to the manager, His last name was Salazar. He said that if we were ALSO sure if WE didn't take the money. He said he would check and he left. He came back with the RIGHT change and he said that accidents happen, and that his waiters are always busy and that he would talk to the waiter. Which is valid. He also said that, if the waiter did took the money, the waiter would pay from his own money so he would learn from his lesson. But that's not the problem. They accuse us of stealing MONEY. MONEY!! We always like going to Famous Dave's but recently we have had awful service. The food is good ( but they are out of chicken wings at noon on a Sunday...). Ordered a salad instead -- it took 35 minutes to arrive, everyone else had finished eating. Every once in a while there will be a poor experience, sometimes it is not within any one's control. Absolutely horrible. This is our first time here and I absolutely hated it. The floor was somehow both slippery and sticky at the same time and the menus were filthy. Prices were different in the fold out drink menu than on the actual big menu. We were there for an hour and a half, we were only eating for about 25 minutes. We waited well over 30 minutes for our food, which came mostly cold, and the rest of the time was waiting for our check. Our server Lea was nowhere to be seen and she only checked on us once. All of the other servers were standing around chatting and on their phones. The brisket was inedible. Most of it was fat and it was disgusting. Mashed potatoes were cold, and my cocktail was mostly juice. When she came to bring my drink, she tried to move my phone instead of just placing the drink on any other open spot on the table. Would absolutely not recommend, go spend your money somewhere else. I really payed over 20 dollars for a mediocre serving of fat on toast and horrible service. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would! Worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. We were sat down but waited 25 min and NO ONE came to get our drink orders. All of the employees passed us and even stared. When we were walking out they all watched and I saw the manager and made eye contact with me. Being from another city outside of El Paso. I was accustomed to eating bill millers or Rudy's- and to me these barbecue joints were delicious! Well after trying out Famous Dave's, these other barbecue joints were nothing compared to them! Famous Dave's is delicious! By far the best barbecue I've had so far. Their meat is scrumptious, whether it's their ribs or brisket- the meat just falls off and melts in your mouth. You can tell that the meat is cooked for a long time prior to it being served. I also have to talk about their other items! Their corn muffins are to die for! They're delicious! Seriously baked perfectly. My favorite thus far! Their Mac & Cheese was different but it was a good different! The corn incorporated into the Mac & Cheese definitely made a great twist! And their bread.. oh my goodness!!!! You can taste how bad it is for you when your eating it, but I don't care because it' was fantastic piece of bread! That Was smothered in oil but was also sweet- sweet and salty! Finally, their infamous bread pudding- heaven in your mouth! Highly recommend it! I didn't even know it was bread pudding, my husband had ordered it without telling me. Definitely does not have the consistency of pudding but regardless it was DELICIOUS! Overall, there is so much to rave about- highly recommend this barbecue restaurant. When you go to famous Dave's and dine in, your table is usually covered with food. But when you order to go, it looks like a kids lunch box. I love their bbq and usually the food quantity is decent, but ordering to go I was very dissatisfied. I ordered the 2 meat deal for 16.99. The side orders barely had two spoons fulls each, there was 3 mini pieces of chicken tenders and 1 small size sausage. I could see more wax paper than food in this box. If you're ordering out, I recommend that you check the food before leaving. The best idea is to come here and eat, cause then they aren't as stingy. My husband ordered the salmon which was very dry and over cooked. The flavor was there, but he had to take a drink of water after each bite. I'm a huge fan of bbq, but it's hard to find good authentic bbq here in El Paso. Next time we plan on sticking to the ribs, brisket and pork here. Came into town and decided to grab dinner after an 8+ hour drive from Dallas. I'm a huge fan of Rudy's BBQ but decided to come here since we don't have a Famous Dave's in DFW. The last time I was @ a Famous Dave's was about 2 years ago and I remember the food being delicious! Niki was our server, super friendly and accommodating and had great recommendations. Good service even when the food took a little longer and she came by with some complimentary BBQ chips to apologize. The food itself @ this location was just OK. My dinner date loved his sandwich (The Manhandle?) and the BBQ beans as his side. No complaints at all. I ordered a combo platter to try a few things: roasted chicken, brisket, ribs, and corn/cornbread muffin/green beans/broccoli with an additional side of the jalapeño cheddar sausage. I'll be honest and say that my favorite part of my meal was probably only the green beans, cornbread muffin, and the BBQ sauces they put out (particularly the Georgia Mustard). The brisket portion on my platter was super salty (tasted like it was the burnt fatty end?) and the roasted chicken was pretty dry. Our food did take a little longer than normal to come out which resulted in the fire cracker green beans being under seasoned and my side order of sausage link coming out 10min after all the entrees. For dessert- Bread pudding was delicious but I would suggest ordering a second scoop of the ice cream to go with it. If you do their survey on the bottom of your receipt, you'll get a free desert next time you go in. When comparing their meat cuts in terms of flavor, juiciness, and quality to their competitor down the road, I'd have to say that Dave's loses on this end. I like Dave's for their other entree's (salmon, sandwiches) but if I was going to order straightforward BBQ meats, I'll have to pass. Also, the timeframe of receiving our food and quality didn't match how "busy" they were. We ordered around 5:45 and the restaurant was maybe 50% occupied. It took about 25 min to receive our meals. I did not notice any managers touching tables. There was a separate person apart from our server who delivered our dessert and she asked how everything was but she did not identify herself as management. Also, where we were seated gave us a good view of the to-go area and I noticed servers looking "bored" several times. 3 stars for good service, clean restaurant, and good dessert/sides. Just moved to EP and decided to try Famous Dave's... Let me start off by saying that I am picky as hell when it comes to bbq and I love this place. Started with the queso fundido and it was delicious!!! We got the Texas Beef Brisket and added mild BBQ sauce, so worth it. I got the Georgia Chopped Pork and I loved it. The meat was so tender and the Rich & Sassy sauce was a perfect addition. The sandwich was overflowing with pork so the portion was spot on. The Dave's Cheesy Mac & Cheese is delicious as well, the right amount of kick with the jalapeno in it and the cheese was so creamy. My husband got a plate with the brisket and jalapeno cheddar sausage with mac and cheese and wilbur beans. He loved the beans and the mac and cheese as well. We had great service. Our waitress stayed on top of our drinks and made sure we had everything we needed. We will be taking our families here when they come to visit! read more

Tried their online ordering yesterday, it was a horrible experience. Food was supposed to be ready in 47 minutes from time order was submitted. Showed up to a huge line outside and they asked for name of order several times and several people arrived much later getting called before some of us standing there for a while. They told me they were "looking for my order" about 3 times. Just as I was about to cancel, they said they were bagging it which still took another 15 minutes. About 40 minutes after my original pickup time they finally had the food, which was almost 90 minutes after order was submitted. read more

This restaurant has recently opened on the far east side. My wife and I stopped by this afternoon to see how it was going to compare to the one on George Dieter. Well it's great. Service is excellent, friendly and helpful without being pushy. It has the same excellent food we expect from Famous Dave's. We will be regulars from now on.
