Stopped by here for some lunch and was it amazing...really feels like you are in Peru!! This a family owned placed with the grandfather as the chef and everything is incredible!! Great relaxing environment, amazing drinks, great friendly service and amazing food!! Started with the papa rellena which was so tasty and crunchy with excellent meat and the egg inside. Next was their kid's meal chicarron de pescado which is a very generous serving coming with amazing fries! The fish was was crispy and light and Hunter really loved it!! Then had their Peruvian hamburger "amburguesa anticuchera" which was an incredible burger with fried egg and gruyere cheese!! Then came their seafood ceviche which was so light and tender! Then came the bill and shocked which is 1/3 to 1/4 of the cost of the same food compared to LA! It's such a great place, great experience, great staff, amazing food and incredible prices!! Oh and their pina picante is the best pineapple drink I have ever had especially with the little spice to it!!! 10 stars if possible!! read more

This place gets our 3GS. Great food , Great Service and Good Ambiance. We for sure go back to this restaurant. Enjoy

Found this restaurant via Yelp while visiting Tucson, and happy we visited. Ordered the ceviche de pescado, causa camarones con palta, and lomo saltado. All items were delicious! read more

I couldn't even leave the restaurant without leaving my review. I've never had Peruvian cuisine, so I wasn't sure what to expect. This place is INCREDIBLE! This place is truly a hidden gem. The service was wonderful! They took the time to explain what was in certain dishes and what not. We were extremely satisfied and cannot wait to come back! Very clean, friendly, and personable. This place definitely hits the 5 star mark in my book! read more

My wife and I were down from Phoenix and looking for a nice restaurant for dinner. We went to Peru last year so when this restaurant showed up we decided to give it a try. All we can say is wow. We loved everything. Family owned, very nice people, violinist playing while we had dinner and the food was amazing. We started with Ceviche of course which was very authentic. I had the Lamb Shank and my wife had the quinoa salad and we finished the night with picarones that we became obsessed with on our trip. I highly recommend this place. It was full most of the evening and great ambiance. read more

I went for a friends birthday dinner and the service was top tier along with the food! There was so much flavor and it was so savory! I also had a few taste of appetizers and everything was tasteful and the service was amazing! The setting was very in the romance comfy side so definitely a date spot but also a family/friend get together for good Peruvian cuisine! I will definitely be back read more

Visited this spot with my cousins and and fiance and unfortunately it did not meet the marks... We LOVEEEE Peruvian food and was so excited to find some in Tucson, however, compared to what I've tried in CA... Villa Peru was just okay. I do feel bad because this spot is supposed to be more family owned, and the price must be higher due to the location/ rent in the Catalina Foothills. But for the portion and quality, it thought the price was quite high. PROS: -beautiful ambience/ decor, very cute restaurant perfect for date night - big shared lot with other businesses - the green sauce is bombdiggity - Pisco sour was yummy (yet small serving) CONS - they RAN OUT OF GREEN SAUCE in the middle of the meal - service was aiiight, we ran out of water for a while and took a long time waive a server down - prices were quite high... I guess I'm used to hole-in-the-wall Peruvian places that charges $10-12 for lomo saltado with a much bigger portion, my fiance got the Parihela which was $18 and the portion was very small as well Overall, it's a beautiful upscale restaurant that does offer a variety of Peruvian food with the essential dishes. But I'm not sure if I can justify dinner prices, maybe i'll revisit during lunch... read more

Husband and wife got a night together last night and got a Facebook notice the Ceviche festival was happening at Villa Peru! We had never tried Peruvian food before, but are fans of Ceviche! We had steaks on the counter ready to grill-and put them away to go out to this place! Yum! The food was great, sauces were DELICIOUS, and the staff was so pleasant and very knowledgeable! We tried 6 different ceviches, and a small appetizer, everything was really good! Drinks were affordable and very good, and the atmosphere was very comfortable and warming! Thank you Villa Peru, we will be back! read more

Good experience dining here on a Saturday night. We waited for a spot on the front patio, no reservations but the wait was worth it. We had two seafood dishes, one ceviche and one causa (?, with potatoes). Probably the best Peruvian food we've ever had, tender mixed seafood, well seasoned, perfectly textured, highly recommended. Good service, a great evening out on the road for us. read more

The food here is really good but I'm really disappointed in how much this restaurant is taking covid seriously. We were under the impression our party would be seated in an isolated area in the restaurant and come to find that we were seated in a small area in the back with about two other large groups. No joke like 30 people sitting in a small area. Extremely irresponsible and sad that they prefer profit over safety. read more

A wonderful place for a date! Family owned and operated Villa Peru creates delicious food. The service is excellent and the atmosphere relaxing and romantic. read more

So disappointed of this place. They didn't respect the reservation I had and wanted me to wait 30 minutes for a table! With a reservation? They use COVID to justify their bad service and the mistreatment of the clients. read more

Really good food and nice people too. We've been here several times and really enjoy the food.

Peruvian food is one of my favorites, and this is the first Peruvian restaurant we tried out in Tucson. It was a huge disappointment, overly priced, food was cold, small portions. Only good thing was that staff was friendly. read more

If you're craving ceviche, Villa Peru will satisfy your cravings! The ceviche comes in 3 styles which are made to order with leche de tigre, a lime-based marinade with ají peppers - so refreshing and light and you can choose your level of spiciness. We had the ceviche de pescado which features a seasonal fish and is accompanied by red onions and sweet potato. It was the best dish of the meal. We also had a side of yuca frita (also delicious and our second favorite), fried calamari (smaller portion than expected), and queso tequenos. The latter 2 probably would have been better if we had it in the restaurant rather than takeout because they were a little soggy by the time we got home, but definitely something that cannot always be controlled during takeout experience! Overall, a tasty meal and easy online ordering and pickup experience - would come back for their ceviche and yuca frita and to try more of their entrees. read more

We had an amazing dinner! Nathan, our server made wonderful recommendations, was very attentive and gave us time to relax and enjoy our meal. A musician played soft jazz in the background which was a nice touch. Make reservations as the restaurant was full. Don't miss this family owned gem! read more

I don't write reviews often, but felt it important to state that this restaurant does not honor reservations, even if they are made weeks in advance. My husband and I had a reservation for dinner at Villa Peru that was made with considerable notice. When we arrived for the reservation (10 min early), they informed us they had no tables available. We waited 35 minutes past our reservation time while we watched them seat people with our same reservation time, same size party who had arrived later than us. I understand that the restaurant can't control how long people stay at their tables, but their seating of others with the same size party, same reservation time who arrived after us was something I can't understand and something they couldn't explain. Perhaps their food is good, but try for a pop in visit, not a reservation, as the latter do not appear to be respected at this restaurant. read more

The food was fine, but nothing to write home about. Well actually the lomo saltado wonton appetizer was very memorable. But really nothing too exciting about the chicken. read more

I just can't say enough about this restaraunt. The food was on point.. staff was excellent and the ambiance was perfect. This is a family owned restaurant... and you could tell by the attention to detail. The service staff were so attentive and was really focused on bringing superior service. Amazingly, the ceviche was so fresh...in Tuscon! I would highly reccomend trying this place out. Such a fun and authentic experience! read more

generally rlly pleased with this spot! the inside of the restaurant is long and narrow but feels very homey with the lighting, seating and open kitchen. we started with the tartido ceviche - it was decent overall. it felt a bit one note, and we ordered it at the higest spice level (spicy), but it was not spicy at all lol. it did have good acidity and sharpness, it really punched through and the fish itself came at a good temperature. i wish the fish was prepared a little bit neater, it kind of felt like chicken giblets, but if you don't think about it too much, it tastes good. for entrées we got lomo saltado and frejoles con seca. if you close your eyes and eat both dishes separately, you think you'd be eating a mexican dish and a chinese dish lol. meaning, i feel like you could find the same dishes at a different restaurant for a better price. we still really enjoyed our time and meal and i had to go back to try some thing different from the menu. read more

Had the lomo saltado Sunday evening in take outs, it was absolutely perfect even after reheating it slightly in microwave. Tasty, tender, flavors which took me back to our visit to Peru a few years ago. It came with french fries and rice, perfect accompaniment for the flavors, anything else would have deterred from them. read more

Our first time, sat back near the bar. Staff was friendly and our waitress was awesome! Fully explained the menu and made suggestions! We stayed on the seafood side of the menu, everything was very tasty! Give it a try, you won't be disappointed! read more

This place is amazing! The one star review over a reservation shown prior to mine is ridiculous and only hurts the rating of a place this good. It's Saturday night, we didn't have to wait for a second, the food is to die for, the service fabulous, and the ambiance just as good. We eat Peruvian food all over the country and this spot is easily in the top 3, it's a must try! read more

The food was delicious. Beautiful soul try ambience. The service could have been better however I will give them a pass as they were preparing for a large party. I will definitely dine here again! Treat yourself! read more

This is a must restaurant choice in Tucson, excellent menu, Frida is the best in town.

Villa Peru Everything will be rated from 1-10 in each category. This way you guys get the full experience and can judge yourself. The total score is my final experience where it dictates the amount of stars in the title of the review. Atmosphere: This restaurant is a hole in the wall in comparison to the restaurants next to it. When my father and I were walked to our table we were shocked to see someone playing the harp. With the sounds of the harp playing in the background it gives this place a bit of a classy kind of atmosphere. The menu isn't in English for the most part except for the ingredient section so be prepared to point to the menu items you would like to order. This restaurant does have a bar further towards the back and the kitchen is right up front which gives this place an unique look. Score: 9/10 Food: My father and I both got two completely different foods so that we can get the full experience. I got a plate with what seems like every kind of seafood they had in the kitchen. In the photo I had to move the pile of red onions to the side because it seemed to block the sight of everything on my plate. Now with my dish I was asked what level of spiciness would I like. Now I normally like my food spicy so I asked for it to be medium. My food wasn't what I expected. The sauce was more like a vinegar sauce with a hint of heat that hit you later. The clams were extremely salty to the point where my father and I trade plates. My father ordered a dish with steak and pasta. The menu stated that the pasta sauce was an Alfredo sauce but from from the looks and taste it reminded me more of a rustic pesto with a hint of more salt. The stake was nicely done and was a favorite between the both of us. The snack they gave us is a bowl of unpopped popcorn with dried banana slices with an tasty hot sauce. We couldn't help but laugh that they gave us this unpopped popcorn and how amazing it taste. We ended up getting 2 or 3 bowls full. The deserts we got are Dulce de leche shortbread cookie and their helado de lucuma (signature ice cream). The dulce de leche was very powdery and was nearly impossible to eat with a spoon. Would recommend just picking it up with your hands. The ice cream was really good and reminded me a lot of a sherbet ice cream. Overall the food was a complete hit or miss with each plate. The food could either have too much of a bitterness or too salty. Score: 3.5 Restaurant recommendations: This section is mainly for the restaurant so they know what exactly to work on. It won't affect the score. * Have the cook taste test each plate to make sure it's not too bitter or salty. * Have a translation of the title of each food so that customers don't have to point to the menu * Have better description of drinks Overall score Atmosphere: 9/10 Food: 3.5/10 Friendliness: 9/10 Total: 21.5/30 (71%) Would I come back again? Sadly no. The price of my total bill came down to $71.49 for two people. With the price being so high and the food being a hit or a miss it didn't justify me coming back. read more

Horrible, expensive. boil food. Never again. Tallarines saltados and anticuchos dry with no taste like Peruvian food at all.

This place used to be in Tempe and the owners are from Peru and true to Peruvian cuisine. We used to dine at their Tempe location a lot. Now that they moved to Tucson they have changed a bit but for the better. Their new place is very trendy and super cute. Their menu is a bit more open in a way to cater to Americans but still pretty authentic. Either way the food is delicious and the service is still great. I'm glad I was able to visit them in Tucson. read more

I have had dinner here twice recently and loved it. Every dish we tried was delicious and exceeded expectations!

Best fried calamari. Large variety of authentic Peruvian dishes, excellent ceviche, causas, mussels (a personal fave). Lomo saltado, vegetarian choices. Atmosphere was very elegant and small. The space is small and narrow, reminded me of a small NYC place. We went on a Saturday evening and there were 2 large parties which took up most of the restaurant. The owner/manager stopped by to welcome us and introduce us to the cuisine. Our server was attentive and explained the menu. We went with suggestion, which were considered their specialty. The Maui ceviche was good and we should have stopped there. The rotisserie chicken was dry and lacking of flavor, the potatoes and salad that came with it were bland. The seafood piyaya smelled fishy and at times like ammonia. It was obvious that the seafood was not fresh. Disappointed. If there is a next time we will choose to just get the ceviche read more

After several SW dinners with a large group, we were ready for a venue change. Villa Peru was perfect. Sleek, modern interior, open kitchen, full bar, great Pisco Sours and authentic Peruvian food (some of the group had lived in Peru and several had visited). All 9 of us were pleased with appetizers, entrees and desert, not an easy task! Wait staff was engaging, dinner was leisurely and all meals served at same time, impressive for a large group. Only con, signage is hard to read....we drove by it trying to find it (yes, even with Google Maps) Located in an upscale strip mall next to Seis Kitchen. read more

So, so good! Beautiful, clean, nicely appointed restaurant with really great food and wonderful service. I love family owned and operated restaurants and this is a great one. I ordered the Aji de Gallina which was a wonderful, shredded chicken dish with a rich, creamy, flat out decadent aji amarillo sauce. I loved every lush bite of it. When the food was brought out my wife grabbed a spoonful of my dish before tasting her own and immediately started grousing about how she always orders the wrong thing and I always order the right thing and how life is unfair and I secretly laughed because it's true that I'm a great food orderer. But then she took a bite of her own dish and oohed and aahed about how great it was and offered me a bite. It was also wonderful. She ordered the Lomo Saltado, an absolutely delicious beef dish with tons of flavorful pieces of tender meat. She had subbed plantains for the potatoes and they were excellent as well. It was a quandary as to which dish was the best so we finally stopped arguing and accepted the reality that sometimes contests just end in a tie. We're okay with any restaurant that has multiple dishes that are tied for 'best'. We started our meal with the outstanding Ceviche de Pescado. We loved it. Spicy fish and crisp vegetables along with a tasty sweet potato combined to make for a great appetizer. Great flavors that differed from the Mexican ceviches I'm used to enjoying. The bowl of plantain chips and corn nuts along with the little container of tasty jalapeño green sauce that were brought to the table when we were seated was a fabulous opening act. I am quite possibly addicted to those corn nuts. I've been jonesing ever since. The server was patient and explained everything to us. He made great recommendations and entertained our questions with great courtesy. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about our first visit. It certainly won't be our last! read more
