We visited on a Saturday at 11am. Menus, silverware and napkins were at the table. Service was quick and friendly. We ordered the Guacamole con Chicharrón, Bacon Wrapped Burrito, and Vaca Frita a la Ripiao. The guacamole had big chunks of avocado but the chunks of pork were too dry and too big. The chips were good. The burrito was huge and they were accommodating and cut it in thirds for us. I would have liked the bacon to be crispier around the burrito but it was good. The restaurant was clean and bright. I liked the TV with a video of Cuba.

Stopped into Cuban Corner just after noon for a quiet lunch. The menu looked impressive and extensive, so I decided to try a couple of items to see what they had to offer. I ordered the Tapas Special, a sampler that included empanadas, croquettes, papa rellenas, and tostones con ropa vieja. I also got a ropa vieja sandwich to try more of their dishes, though the Cuban sandwich is definitely on my list for next time. For my drink, I went with a Cuban coffee, strong, rich, and perfectly prepared. Everything was delicious and clearly made with care. Keep in mind this is a mix of Mexican and Cuban cuisine, which gives the menu a nice variety. Service was fast and friendly and when I say fast, remember that good food isn't always quick, so that's a pleasant surprise. The place isn't super fancy, but it's clean and functional. Overall, this spot is worth checking out. The food is amazing, portions are generous, and prices are very reasonable.

I read about this newer place recently and finally made it here. A friend and I met for lunch midweek and the place was only 1/4 occupied. Service was attentive and gracious. We ordered the Cubano ($16) which comes with plantain chips) and the Pan con Bistec Cubano ($17) which comes with french fries. Both were exceptional. The Cubano is definitely one of the better ones I have had (possibly better than Mojo's) with decent quantities of meats and not overpowering with mustard. But... that Pan con Bistec was even better. The french fries are nicely seasoned and med-thick (think Wendy's not McD's). The plantain chips were... as expected (i.e., super thin, dried, banana slices but not especially memorable by their nature). The venue is retro cool with ample free parking in front. It is located beneath that giant turquoise motel sign (pic) just south of Speedway Blvd on Stone Ave.

After living in Miami for over five years, we are always on quest for good Cuban. And for Tucson, this is good. The husband has been here before and had the ropa vieja and loved it, but wanted to try something new. So this time he got the Cuban sandwich. He loved it, but I found it a little ham heavy. But I am also not a ham fan, so take my opinion with that in mind. I got the permit asado, which is a mojo style pork. The pork was very tender, perfect serving size, but I found the seasoning and mojo to be a little too subtle for my taste. The Cuban rice was great though. We also ordered a beef empanada appetizer. The pastry was perfect - flaky, and perfectly browned. The filling was also pretty generous, but again, not as flavorful as I would have liked. But they gave a squeeze bottle of a house made cilantro based sauce that kicked it up a notch, as well a ramekin of a red onion, crema sauce that packed a strong red onion kick. They don't have a liquor license and it's canned soft drinks but they do offer a couple of mocktails and some decent shakes. We tried the guava one which was good - perfect consistency, delicious whip cream on top. I would come back, and try the papa rellenas and the ropa vieja.

I'm so excited to have another Cuban restaurant in town and was thrilled to see the Cuban Corner set up shop at the Sahara Apartments. The menu includes a nice mix of Cuban dishes and some Mexican favorites, but with limited options for Cuban fare in Tucson, I had to check that side of the menu out first. I opted for some to-go appetizers on my first visit and went with the croquetas de jamon and ground beef empanadas. Both were delicious. The croquetas were perfectly fried, with a savory ham and cheese filling. Oerfrctions. The empanadas were also great, with their rich, flavorful filling and perfectly crispy crust. Service was fast and friendly and the restaurant space is super cute. I'll definitely be back!

Decent empanadas but the ropa vieja sandwich was dry. Staff were friendly, though. I love Cuban food but I think this fell short of what I was anticipating or hoping for.

I've been there twice. Great food. The service was great! Clean and a nice place to go. They have music on the weekends which enhances the experience. Hidden gem.

Caldo Gallego

This restaurant easily has the most delicious and authentic Cuban food in the region. While the Cuban menu is not super extensive, there are many good selections to get that Cuban food fix. There are also some Mexican items on the menu, for those that want it. My group got the caldo gallego, Cuban sandwich, tortilla soup, a side of congrís, and appetizer sampler. The appetizer sampler was a good way to try a little bit lot of things. The empanadas, papas rellenas, and ham croquetas were especially delicious. All whole group loved their food. Congris is my absolute favorite food in the whole world, and the Cuban Corner makes it top notch. The location is quiet and relaxed. Staff is very nice, and music is playing, but not so loud you cannot talk with your friends. It may not be as "trendy" as some other restaurants, but the experience and food is excellent.

It's a cute place attached to the Sahara. There's 2 doors and you can enter either one. I walked in to place a to-go order and was met with colorful walls that felt like home. The person was super sweet and patient while I looked at what to order. I ended up getting a Ropa Vieja sandwich which was SO GOOD. It was juicy, the bread was perfectly toasted and the fries were the perfect amount of crispy.

The best Cubano sandwich I have found in Tucson. I switched the plantain chips to fries The restaurant is nicely decorated and they play Latin music. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Friends and I had the steak, pork, Congri, and the coffee. All food was great. Best Cuban in town

Tri Tip Torta

Everything we ordered was delicious. The cubano, the tri tip torta, the yucca, tostones and the strawberry milkshake. Can't wait to return to try other menu items. The picture of the cubano tacos and the tostones with ropa vieja looked really good, but I was full. The sandwiches were big, I split mine with my daughter. Our server was attentive and kind.

Camaron Culichi. Delish combination.

We were lucky to try multiple dishes during a festival from their food truck and everything was all so tasty, especially the tender meats, seasoned perfectly! The plantains were sweet, hot and hit the spot! Our group of friends shared the chicken jerk tacos and stew which was sensational! The service was also great considering they were very busy! While I was waiting in line I was able to watch the amazing process of putting everything together, rice, etc. This is a wonderful family owned business that creates the best Jamaican food around! The food was amazing and the service was top-tier. Our waiter was friendly, funny, and great. We had the best dinner here during our trip to Tucson. First off, the whole menu sounds incredible but you just can't go wrong. We picked the following tapas: LAS FAVORITAS (Dates stuffed with Spanish chorizo, wrapped in smoked pork) PULPO FERIA (Octopus, fingerlings, chili oil, parsley, chimichurri and greens) TOREADOS (Seared shishito peppers, lemon, herbs, chicharrón) ALCACHOFAS (Grilled artichokes, goat cheese, orange zest, and mint) And for the paella: MARISCOS Grilled squid, prawns, mussels, clams, and saffron For dessert, we got the tres leches. The cake was so soft and drenched in delicious cream. I'm really not kidding when I say everything we got was delightful. I can't pick a favorite, get them all! I will say though that the paella was a star of the night and was filled with so much saffron and seafood so don't miss out on it!

The seafood paella is a true highlight--rich, aromatic, and packed with perfectly cooked seafood that brings depth and authenticity to every bite. It's the kind of dish that feels both comforting and elevated at the same time. The cauliflower croquetas are just as impressive--crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and full of flavor. Even if you're not usually drawn to cauliflower, this dish easily wins you over. Dessert was unforgettable. The churro y plato was absolutely amazing, with warm, crispy churros paired with indulgent dips that made it hard to stop at just one bite. Service was stellar throughout the entire meal--attentive, friendly, and perfectly paced, which really elevated the overall experience. One small drawback was the seating. With a reservation, it would have been great to have the option to select outdoor seating ahead of time. The patio atmosphere looked inviting, and having that choice during booking would really enhance the overall experience. Overall, Contigo Latin Kitchen stands out for its flavorful dishes, excellent service, and thoughtful preparation--definitely a spot worth returning to.
