Plantains
Travis H.

I got two beef empanadas and an order of plantains. 10/10 on the empanadas. Packed solid with meat and flavor deep fried to perfection. Salted after which enhances the taste even more. The salsa side is good 7.2/10 comparable to burrito shops salsa. The mayo based sauce is 10/10. The plantains were good. Salted after as well. I wish they were more ripe and brought out the sweetness more. 7.1/10. They also make fresh smoothies. Give it a try they are local and delicious! The owner is very nice and his service was great. Nice shaded area to eat is available.

Great empanadas and friendly service. I had the ham & cheese and the cheese/green chile empanadas. They were perfectly fried. Definitely check this truck out.

I had the opportunity to try their empanadas at my daughter's Girl Scout trunk or treat event and it did not disappoint. Service was quick and the lady taking my order was very nice. I didn't order any juices or smoothies but definitely will next time because they sound delish! I went with a ground beef empanada and a green chili and cheese empanada both of which were amazing. They are flaky and crispy on the outside but so juicy and full on the inside. I especially loved the green chili and cheese! The prices are super fair, too and overall I really enjoyed it. Keep an eye out for this truck and give it a try!

Joined my besties to try this Dominican food truck on a lunch whim and enjoyed the beautiful sunny day and excellent customer service complete with tasty empanadas and tostones and unique drinks you can't find anywhere else in Tucson. Also a bonus that the handsome owner joined our fun conversation all without missing a beat quick service and perfect Spanish. Thank you for the good vibes!

Excellent authentic food…read more The jerk chicken was really tasty and superb. It comes with steamed veggies: cabbage, carrots, onions. It also came with rice which was good. I also got a Jamaican pop--Cola Champagne. Really good stuff. You just have to ignore food truck prices and bite the bullet to bite the food. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

I've seen this trucked posted up at The Pit for a while, and I've heard good things, so I went full send and tried the oxtails. They came with plantains, rice and peas, and steamed veggies. The oxtails were perfectly cooked and fall-off-the-bone tender. Great flavor! Delicious plantains, rice, and veggies. What a stacked meal. I grabbed the bag and was surprised by how heavy it was. Definitely enough for 2. This was next level from what I've had in the past, and I look forward to visiting again and trying more.

We were lucky to try multiple dishes during a festival from their food truck and everything was all so tasty, especially the tender meats, seasoned perfectly! The plantains were sweet, hot and hit the spot! Our group of friends shared the chicken jerk tacos and stew which was sensational! The service was also great considering they were very busy! While I was waiting in line I was able to watch the amazing process of putting everything together, rice, etc. This is a wonderful family owned business that creates the best Jamaican food around! The seafood paella is a true highlight--rich, aromatic, and packed with perfectly cooked seafood that brings depth and authenticity to every bite. It's the kind of dish that feels both comforting and elevated at the same time. The cauliflower croquetas are just as impressive--crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and full of flavor. Even if you're not usually drawn to cauliflower, this dish easily wins you over. Dessert was unforgettable. The churro y plato was absolutely amazing, with warm, crispy churros paired with indulgent dips that made it hard to stop at just one bite. Service was stellar throughout the entire meal--attentive, friendly, and perfectly paced, which really elevated the overall experience. One small drawback was the seating. With a reservation, it would have been great to have the option to select outdoor seating ahead of time. The patio atmosphere looked inviting, and having that choice during booking would really enhance the overall experience. Overall, Contigo Latin Kitchen stands out for its flavorful dishes, excellent service, and thoughtful preparation--definitely a spot worth returning to.
