I have been craving authentic Jamaican food for so long! This hit the spot! The flavors were on point, the chicken was moist and falling off the bone, and the heat was just right! Definitely recommend if you find yourself craving jerk in Tuscon! Please forgive the less than stellar pic - I was salivating upon arrival and just wanted to eat it.

Run don't walk!! Pictures barely do the food justice and you can't capture the flavor and seasoning incorporated into each dish. I'm truly blown away and can't wait to go back. I called ahead an order for takeout and originally intended to order the jerk chicken tacos, I think he heard jerk chicken combo on the phone but it's what I was supposed to have that night. Combo came with beans and rice, vinegar cole slaw, a generous portion of jerk chicken, and one of the coconut breads that I've never had before. I also ordered a beef patty and fried plantains. The chicken was perfect and slid off the bone (I wasn't expecting a whole chicken at first so there are small bones). The beef in the patty I can only describe as creamy and the pastry part was so flakey. The plantains were also perfectly caramelized and left little slightly chewy edges. I came here on a whim and it might have entered the top 25 things I've eaten. The owner was helpful and organized; the place itself is smaller with half the restaurant set aside for grocery. They do take card but there's a 5% fee, and it's a small local place I'd want to bring cash for next time so he doesn't have to deal with the transaction fees. Can't wait to go back, food was incredible and it's a business I'd be happy to support again!

I can't say enough good about this place. The service is always quick and friendly. The dining room is always clean and usually busy. There are lots of carry out orders when we're there. I can't wait to get home to eat this stuff so I always dine in. Our favorite is curry goat. Next is jerk chicken tacos, D's Fries with Oxtail gravy. Always a cream soda and grapefruit ting for the wife. Definitely worth a visit.

I was very disappointed not to receive a receipt for business purposes. Other than that, the food was decent, but the customer service could use improvement.

This is a reoccurring option on our menu at work. I forgot how much it sucked the first time I ordered, so order it again; this time, a jerk, chicken salad. There was not an ounce of chicken on my salad, and there was barely an ounce of salad dressing to go with my salad. I had to eat it mostly dry. And, more of an inconvenience than anything, they serve the salad in a to-go container, made for multiple foods, not a salad. I was constantly stabbing the Styrofoam, trying to get a forkful of salad. Note to self, never ever ever ever ever order from this place again.

Had to start eating before taking a pic! So yummy

So excited to find a good Jamaican restaurant in Tucson. Ordered grub hub delivery I got jerk chicken with rice and beans, cabbage slaw , fry bread and a side of plantain and let me just say! It did not disappoint! Everything was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor! I can't wait to try the other dishes and update you guys but I know it will be amazing! This is dangerous i will have to resist ordering from here every day

I woke with a strong craving for Jamaican food, which happens about every other month. We decided to try D's island grill, a place we have never been to before. The atmosphere was lovely in the restaurant, there was great reggae music playing, beautiful murals on the wall, and friendly people working. The food was phenomenal. My husband and I shared the jerk chicken plate, which came with two scoops of rice and peas, steamed vegetables, and festival. We also ordered a side of plantains. The food was so well cooked and seasoned, the drinks were so refreshing, I can't wait to return!

What else is there to say? Come in and get some!!! Listen to some reggae music while getting tropical vibes of ambiance on the walls. Family owned and operated all local. Incredible service and you feel welcomed! The food is outstanding. Once again I went to the jerk pork plate. 10/10. The best part of this establishment is the kind hearts behind the counter and the food is consistently delicious and packed with flavor. I have NEVER EVEN HAD a mediocre meal always delicious. Please come try them and see for yourself!

Jerk chicken wings and chicken curry were amazing. Ordered for pickup and it was ready within 15 minutes. Flavors were on point and staff was friendly.

So glad to come across D's Island Grill on UberEats -- the menu offers an excellent change of pace, with a wide range of proteins to please all (chicken, tilapia, snapper, shrimp, goat, oxtail, pork, and more). Thoroughly enjoyed our three entrees (jerk chicken, tilapia tacos, and curry shrimp), and there are several veg items available too (callaloo, ackee, plantains, rice and beans, etc.). The portions are well-cooked and -packaged, and they're also extremely generous -- made two dinners and a lunch out of our order and felt as though we'd even added in dessert, with those yummy sweet fry breads. Delicious food done with care -- really shows that it's a family-owned restaurant that puts plenty of heart into its cooking!

Jerk chicken, missing the sweet fried dessert bc I ate it first. :)

I absolutely loved my chicken salad and carrot juice. My husband wasn't too keen on the chicken and rice, as it was blander than expected.

I had the fish tacos which are crazy good. The Jamaican spin is genius. These are among the best fish tacos in Tucson.

Honestly, I wish I could give Yaquesita a little more, maybe half a star more, because this place definitely has potential. Their flavors are good, but compared to similar restaurants the menu feels a bit overpriced. For a party of three we ended up paying around $100, which felt like a bit much for what we got. The restaurant itself is pretty small with only about 3-4 tables inside, but the patio is a decent size and has a cute vibe. It's actually a nice option on cooler days if you don't mind sitting outside. Some items were better than others. The wet-style burrito was delicious and definitely a highlight. The quesabirrias were good, however the birria felt more like fancier shredded beef. It was missing that rich, spicy, slightly acidic, earthy flavor that usually sets birria apart from barbacoa or traditional shredded beef dishes. The bowl was just okay and had lots of lettuce. It felt more like a salad with a bit of meat, rice, and beans. Honestly, Chipotle does bowls better, and that says a lot considering the price. The nachos were good, but I've had better. Seis Kitchen has amazing nachos to share. That said, it's definitely a place I'd come back to mainly out of convenience, not because one particular item on the menu won my heart. I really do hope they continue refining the menu because the flavors are there and this place could easily become a standout spot. Personally I just think at the total price of my ticket other restaurants should not even have room in my mind during my meal. If you're in the area and looking for a safe bet where everyone will probably find something they like, it's worth giving them a try.

Tender Juanito's had some flavor, but it was VERY dry and tough and had far too much grisle. I just didn't like it at all. I had to force my way through it it was so dry, I dislike dry meat.
