    Turquesa Margarita
    Matt G.

We dropped by after multiple people told us the bison tacos here were a CAN'T MISS. Totally worth the hype! Also, the Turquesa Margarita (pictured) was FANTASTIC. What we weren't necessarily expecting was the exceptional service. Dalia and Luke really went out of their way to make our day special, and Ivan was slinging extraordinary drinks from the bar. 10/10 would recommend.

Beautiful restaurant by the pool and amazing service! Everyone is super friendly and I enjoyed the food and time here! :) The drink was fantastic but the highlight for me were the nachos - sooo freaking good. I kid you not but that cheese sauce is yums! We added steak but wished they gave us a bit more since there were only a few pieces - it was like looking for gold... "oh yay found a piece" - if I had known I probably wouldn't have paid the $7 add on because it was tasty as is :)

Service was wonderful! We sat by the pool and had drinks first and then went up to a table for lunch. EVERYTHING was incredible! My husband got the Fuego burger and said it was worth every single penny if not more! I had the southwest superfood bowl and it was full of flavor. Portions were large which was just what we were looking for. All the drinks we had were delicious as well.

Once my husband and I arrived, at 7 o'clock on a Friday a couple weeks ago, we were sat immediately. I ordered a Horchata, I found their take on it, refreshing and unique. The pistachio coconut rim was so different, but good! I ordered the chef board appetizer ,which comes out looking like a work of art. I believe there were four different cheeses/spreads, and multiple arrays of fruits and sides. I loved it! My husband liked his pork belly appetizer too. Our meals were both phenomenal, with my husband, choosing the salmon dish and I had the chicken piccata dish. Fries taste fresh and had the perfect crisp tothem., well, though I didn't expect the olives with my entree, they really helped him make the dish! Even the leftover was amazing. My only complaint from this visit was the $14 curry I ordered which was severely lacking. I love curry and order it often at different places. This one could've used more flavor, and I really wish it would've had more than just potatoes in it. I definitely took it home to work on it. This place is pretty pricey , and boosts are very small menu, but they did have some nightly specials to also order from. It's extremely small with only six tables maybe, but there is a covered and enclosed patio as well!

The sweet look and feeling of this place...instant love of this restaurant. It is important to make a reservation, so they can give you the time to enjoy everything Casa Madre offers! It was our first time...and how have we gone so long not trying this amazing restaurant?!? The food is spectacular...EVERYTHING was magical. They make a great prickly pear margarita but the muddled strawberry Caipirinha was my favorite. Wow! We enjoyed the steak empanadas and bacon wrapped chorizo stuffed dates for our appetizers. Get those dates! I admit I was skeptical but so glad I tried them! Had never had paella before but the Mar y Tierra was HUGE and just DIVINE! We got 4 portions out of it! The Crème brûlée was a beautiful conclusion to a fantastic experience Highly Recommended...you won't be disappointed. So glad we got out of our box and tried something new. Can't wait to come back!

The food was amazing and the service was top-tier. Our waiter was friendly, funny, and great. We had the best dinner here during our trip to Tucson. First off, the whole menu sounds incredible but you just can't go wrong. We picked the following tapas: LAS FAVORITAS (Dates stuffed with Spanish chorizo, wrapped in smoked pork) PULPO FERIA (Octopus, fingerlings, chili oil, parsley, chimichurri and greens) TOREADOS (Seared shishito peppers, lemon, herbs, chicharrón) ALCACHOFAS (Grilled artichokes, goat cheese, orange zest, and mint) And for the paella: MARISCOS Grilled squid, prawns, mussels, clams, and saffron For dessert, we got the tres leches. The cake was so soft and drenched in delicious cream. I'm really not kidding when I say everything we got was delightful. I can't pick a favorite, get them all! I will say though that the paella was a star of the night and was filled with so much saffron and seafood so don't miss out on it!

Reading through one of the three-point reviews, we decided to take a shot anyway since it was only marked down two points for some issues with the server. So in we go. We are in a Friday around 1:00 PM. Just after the lunch rush expect expecting there to be pretty far tables. More people receded than I expected in a large room had a private party going on as well. The place is actually quite beautiful with wonderful color schemes aren't very comfortable chairs and tables sit around. The hostess, who I believe her name was Angelina was incredibly polite, energetic and helpful. Got a seated got us water got us chips and salsa while our server Jackie was finishing up her tables in the private party to come out to us. Jackie was quick, efficient, friendly, and checked on us as often as we needed to, which wasn't much From a food perspective, we got the lunch specials for Gorditas and I tried the combo with a corn, tamale chicken enchilada, and Carne Asada taco. The presentations were simply stunning, but more than that they were functional. All of the flavors mixed in created some exceptional dishes. I have honestly never had a corn tamale as good as that one and I've lived here most of my life. The chicken enchilada was so incredibly well seasoned with just enough cheese on top to add a little extra punch along with the Crema, and all the other flavors. Tortilla bread was perfectly balanced with the meat, tasting so good you didn't eat any of the toppings. But the toppings turned it into one heck of an adventure of flavor. Yes I know. I'm waxing a little philosophically here, but the food really did impress the hell out of us. Service was great, food was great, presentation was great, environment is great we recommend coming here and we will be back. Price wise for an upscale Mexican restaurant this one's right in line around $16-$20 a plate foremost dishes. Of course you can spend more, of course you can spend less. I would have added a picture of the food, but at this point, all we have is empty plates and I didn't think that would do any of you any good.

It came with a bunch of sides: rice, refried beans, green salsa, guacamole, a grilled jalapeno and slaw, plus complimentary corn chips and red salsa. The beans and rice were perfunctory, but with the addition of salsa and bits of jalapeno they were OK. The burrito itself was large and had plenty of pork, though I didn't care for the marinade. The two salsas were good. All in all, it was just OK. The ambiance is nice and service was fine.

Flavors…read morewere all on point and as expected from the components on the menu, which doesn't happen often in Phoenix. The Papas Verde had an addicting tang from the tomatillo salsa but were brilliantly balanced out by the chorizo and asadero cheese. The shaved brussel salad could have used a little more date and chile to balance out the vinegar but I was pleased either way. The elote was probably the only thing that fell short execution-wise as I didn't get much of the chorizo flavor, but the cook on the corn itself was perfect. The Gambas al Ajillo are absolutely a must-get. Juicy, sweet shrimp with an unexpected kick from the butter sauce and unsurprisingly great bread from Noble. The Tlayuda was a little heavy on the lettuce, but the smoked pork and bean puree combo were so flavorful that it helped balance out the richness with texture and freshness. I also loved the crispy contrast from the fried tortilla. We ended with the Concha and Mango Sticky Rice ice cream which sounded pretty simple but was quite impressive in its own right. The ice cream was a touch too frozen, but it ended up working out well with the crunchy cornflake coating and lightly warmed, pillowy concha to make a really satisfying ending to our meal. Service was excellent and the patio was well-lit and had heaters ready for colder weather. Vecina is on the pricier side for sure, but you will not be disappointed.

The food was incredible! We wanted to eat light, so we ordered to share a dish they are renowned for, Lomo Soltado, & Douglas, who was behind the bar & also waiting done tables on this extremely busy night, suggested adding shrimp to the beef, and it was phenomenal! We asked for a recommendation for another shareable & he highly recommended the Causa Rellena de Camaron--delicious! Sort of a whipped potato stuffed with beef then fried. Very fun! We loved the Pisco Sours, and husband enjoyed a glass of wine with the meal. Both dishes were very flavorful and the beef was so tender. I enjoyed the light but flavorful sauces on both dishes. The prices are extremely high for the small portion sizes. The service was excellent. The whole Diners, Drive Ins and Dive advertising is a little obnoxious. It's on the front of the menu, on a huge sign on the window, and the episode the restaurant was on plays over and over on one of the TVs.
