Delicious food is being served at this unassuming spot. We arrived for dinner on a Sunday night and the place was busy, so the secret is out. We both ordered rice vermicelli noodles with chicken and egg rolls. This chicken is amazing, with a fabulous marinade and wonderful texture. Everything on the plate was excellent; I especially like their deeply flavored, good quality fish sauce, and the option to spice it up with condiments tableside. The tea I ordered was loose leaf, which I don't often find, so bravo on that too. My only complaints are that the frequent orders of bubble tea keep the very loud blender going (put it in the back) and they're still automatically putting plastic straws in the water glasses. Plastic straws should only be offered when people ask for them; only the very elderly and/or infirm really need straws in their water, right? It's time to do away with them. read more

Stopped by here on my way down to Virginia Tech from NOVA, and I couldn't have been happier! We were seated immediately, and the service was attentive throughout. The menu offered a lot of great options (I only wish that they served bun bo hue everyday!). My mom ordered pho dac biet, and I ordered Bún Gà Tôm Nuong (chicken and shrimp vermicelli noodles) and summer rolls. The servings were ample for the price. All of the food tasted fresh and flavorful. My only recommendations are that the summer rolls should be made a bit smaller (they were huge; I had trouble fitting them in my mouth! There was just a bit too much lettuce.), and I only got three pieces of shrimp in my dish (the shrimp were perfect; I wanted more!). I also ordered a honeydew bubble tea to go. I was a bit wary because I've gotten mediocre bubble tea (too powdery or bland) at Vietnamese restaurants before. But this bubble tea was PERFECT! It had a slushy consistency with chewy bubbles and was just the right amount of sweet. What a great way to end a delicious meal. Cha gio is why I came.. Brought wife and kids in and stared at the menu salivating. I asked customers who were regulars, bang mi or pho? They said either one will make me happy. A beef filled pho was awesome! Cha gio was crisp perfect, just wish it had more lettuce. Wife enjoyed chicken and vermicelli and kids shared a pork and rice lunch. Beautiful presentation on everything. What won me over was the waiter being so kind to my messy but sweet children. He split their soup for them and kept on checking on them with kind words. My friends and I ordered pork ban mi to go on a Saturday . I don't know if there if they're usually crowded but the restaurant was packed and the wait time was 30 minutes. The Bain mi was soo good. Very good experience here! The restaurant was very clean and welcoming. We were seated immediately, then given a glass of water and order was taken. The bowls of pho were on the table within 2 minutes, no joke. We probably would've waited longer at McD's. The pho was very flavorful and fresh, and all of the proper fixings we're readily available. I was very impressed with Vietopia. Many places in the DC/MD/VA area struggle to bring the flavor Vietopia has. Food: I ordered the Tai&Sach&Meatball pho. A pho combination that is rare to find, unless you build it yourself. The broth was wonderful. It packs a punch with the depth of flavor. I find a lot of Viet places try to cater toward American palette/ dietary preferences by making a clean broth. Personally, I love the oil I see on top. It speaks a lot about the love put into the pho. The flavor I experienced here is second to Eden Center. I loved the Tai. So many places have think, Steakumm consistency. But this was thick and hearty and MEAT. The meatballs were moist and heaven. It reminds me so much of homemade Viet meatballs. My only complaint is the strange freezer taste I got from some basil. And also that my Sach wasn't cut up more Service: was great! The man was very patient and pleasant. I loved that he kept an eye on our water and came for refills. Ambiance: The restaurant does not have a Viet feel. More like an American diner. Overall it was very clean and pleasant. Found this on Yelp as we were traveling through the area and decided to try it. GPS got us close but it is not directly on the road. It is located behind some other businesses on the far right of a strip mall. We ordered our usual Chicken Pho and Fresh Rolls but this time I also ordered a Banh Mi sandwich, my first one but definitely not my last. Everything was outstanding. I disagree with a comment about it not having a Viet restaurant feel. The place is in a small college town but isn't located in Vietnam so what do you expect .... Coming from an area where we have lots of Vietnamese cities (SoCal - westminster) I've been to tons of great places... Pho and Banh Mi both very good! Ambience is okay, normal Asian restaurant feel. Right next to Food Lion. I ate here twice and both times I liked it a lot. This place deserves more customers. I went both times when they weren't so busy but the food was comforting and warm. This is the second time we've stopped by Vietopia on our way upstate. I'm not a fan of broth that uses sugar to get its sweetness. Preferred natural sweetness that permeate from hours of simmering bones, onions or carrots. The pho beef broth is passable, but not the beef stew, which is sweet (eldest don't mind). That said, it's overall a good place to eat considering when we're far from home and when we feel like Vietnamese food We ordered: 1)Beef pho with everything, my usual go to pho. Broth is savory, not sweet! That's vital for me! I'm a soupy person. 2)Combo 3, pork chop rice with shrimp. Good portion. The pork is thinner slice than some other Vietnamese restaurant we've been to. Taste wise, flavorful enough, just missing that nice fragrant of a char meat. 3)Beef Stew with egg noodle, which is the thin wonton style noodle, not the lo mein type egg noodle.
