Came here tonight before we visit JMU tomorrow. Loved this place the minute we stepped in the door. The music is good, the service is super friendly, there is so much to take in with the decor and the bar, the food is delicious and the prices are great! I had the Hardywood Great Return draft IPA - yum! The sticky nuggs are amazing breast meat and piping hot and the perfect amount of sauce - the OG sweet chili sauce was awesome. There is easy street parking nearby and there are fun shops around, highly recommend this spot!
Came back a year later and still doesn't disappoint. This place is our go to burger place. Prices are super reasonable and the food is delicious! The waiter was very attentive and the place was even kid friendly with the high chairs. We were so happy until a few hours later we all ended up with food poisoning. This was the only thing we all ate that day so we definitely know for a fact that it came from here. Very disappointed especially because we loved it so much.
Screamin Mimi sandwich was good. Chicken was fried perfectly and honey siracha sauce was great. Buffalo wings (half size is 5 wings) were standard. Came at 4 on a Saturday, plenty of tables were opening but it filled up fast by 5. Service was quick. Love the vibe and overall aesthetic.
Fun little place. It's a dive, but in a fun way. Dollar bills stapled up everywhere. Seating circles a bar. Stopped in for lunch on a Thursday. At 11:45 the place was already filling up. We shared two sliders (fried chicken, and burger with Mac and cheese), served with fries. We also had the stick shrimp. Plenty of food. Yummy. Service warm and friendly
Billy Jacks is a JMu staple. I graduated in 2014 and loved the many times I enjoyed the famous "sticky nuggs" from here! Ambiance is very laid back, bar scene. Drinks are good! I got the peachy keen and a mimosa! I've only ever had the sticky nuggs with the sweet chili sauce so it's all I can speak to on food, but those in themselves earn 5 stars! Served in a Chinese takeout box, you can't beat it! Service is quick and kind!
There is always such a good energy in Billy Jack's. I went during Christmas time and decorations were so cute. Also their food is so good. I mixed and matched my sliders - one leghorn and one Wagyu beef with fries on the side. Delicious!
Perfect college town place. Atmosphere was great. Nothing fancy but very nice server and great service. Not busy but steady. Some locals some not. Great beer board (I know distributors force someone to take Elysian so I will not fault them for that). The food was fantastic. Great place to hang out. Will be back
Knowing this place is part of a chain, I was skeptical when a JMU grad said come here for burgers. Parking can be a chore since that part of Harrisonburg downtown has monopolized paid parking, but it's right next door and just $/hr! The parking app sucks! Walk-in side BJ's and I felt like I was home. Truly your neighborhood hole in the wall bar with $3 PBR draft and full bar with happy hour specials. I was floored by how good the bar food was and our waitress was delightful. Parents, this should be your hang out when visiting your DD and it's technically walkable from Villages. I love BJ's and you can buy the shirt when you're there!well deserved 5 star.
Started with a couple of nice ice cold pints of a brew called purple haze. (Name only ). It was very good. I like to start a draft of my reviews while on site but got yelled at by my granddaughter for being on phone lol. But I know I had the wings which were great, my granddaughter had a B-Real burger which she devoured and my wife had a grilled chicken Sammy. We were all satisfied and left happy Service was great and the atmosphere too Thank you
The food comes out fast and is always the perfect temp! It can be very crowded on the weekends after 6 pm, so be prepared to wait most times. Seating is either high-top tables or bar seats. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but sticky nugs and sliders are a must!
If you are in Harrisonburg, this place is a MUST. It is a staple of this area and so good. They are a small, cozy vibe bar / casual eating spot with both good drinks and good food. If you go, you have to get their iconic Sticky nuggs or some sliders (burgers are so good here) They also have a good selection of beers on draft, a cocktail menu, and a shooters/shots menu. Definitely the spot to go on weekends.
Stopped by Billy Jacks on the way through on a road trip and it did not disappoint. Their fries are my favorite type as they are thin and super crispy with seasoning. I ordered the sliders (the mac and cheese one and the chicken one) and they were very good also. It was the perfect amount of food for us at the time. Our waitress was helpful and kind and quick to refill drinks. It was also awesome that the place was decked out for Christmas making it a super fun atmosphere.
I have to say, this was the coolest place I've been to in a while, and yes I am a boring person. My daughter went to school in this town and had frequented this place often. It was my first time here. The place isn't very big. The service was awesome. Semi loud in the joint. Lots of locals, which you know its good then. The server took the time to explain everything to us newbies. The wife and daughter got the sliders. I got the chicken sandwich. I think the best part was the loaded fries and chicken nuggets for appetizers. The beer and G&T are both good. I am so going back to this place when I'm in the area.

My husband Just had horrible service after finding MOLD on his bun. We Used to like this place. He only got his meal for free. They had to leave & go eat elsewhere. Ridiculous & disgusting. read more
The quintessential college dive bar. Phenomenal burger. Fries were to die for. The servers were attentive and the food came out quickly. The music was loud and it was hard to hear the person next to me but we were mostly there for burgers, beer, and football game. $3 PBR and $4 Miller Lite on draft along with a great selection of local beers. read more

Traveling through Virginia on our way to Tennessee and upon reading Yelp reviews for Billy Jack's we decided to give it a try. It was a Friday night over the summer, the bar/restaurant was alive, as was the town. My husband, (13yo) daughter & I were able to get a table and decided to share the sticky nuggs (garlic parm), regular wings (stinky sweet chili) and an order of tots. All three were delicious (and we are picky wing people!!) - let's just say... I would venture to guess that they could fry just about anything & it would be delicious!! Fry flavors and crispiness were perfection! I enjoyed a local IPA with our food and we finished with the specialty donut (Nutella, banana & nuts) as well as the Psycho Girl Scout Donut... highly recommend finishing dinner with one of these sweet treats! Our server, Drew C. was friendly, casual and incredibly attentive! Top notch service! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. read more

If you go here and don't order sticky nuggs...what was the point of going?? I LOVE their Thai sweet chili sauce. Cheap food, cheap drinks (even cheaper during happy hour!!) and a nice vibe. I would say it's a little bit of a dive bar, but I love dive bars. Their service is always great, everyone's so nice. They can get pretty busy, but will bring drinks and food out as quickly as they can. Brunch: Their Bloody Mary's are pretty good! They even infuse their vodka with jalapeños. The breakfast burrito is nice and you can never go wrong with ordering it. Food/Drinks: Their vodka lemonades are good and SO cheap during happy hour. You can't beat the prices. Highly recommend ordering appetizers. Their fried Mac and cheese bites are YUMMY as well as their sticky nuggs that I previously mentioned. Even their chips with blackened ranch is really good! The first time we were in Harrisonburg we couldn't get in. The line was too long and we didn't feel like waiting. We got in this time and we love the casual atmosphere. Kinda like **leveled up** bar food. Food is reasonably priced. I had the slider and my husband had the Mac-and-Cheesesteak sandwich. He also ordered the tater tots and they came out hot and crispy. Tip: get the Psycho Girl Scout donut. It's one donut and it's only $2. I forgot to take a pic of it. LOL read more
Loved it! We dropped off our niece at JMU and asked someone where to go for dinner. Without hesitation they said Billy Jacks and you have to have the Nuggs! When a local has that much enthusiasm on their recommendation, you listen. Well it is definitely not for the calorie counters or cholesterol watchers. Just go ahead and use your cheat day! We each had the Nuggs and split the redneck nachos. Everything on the menu looked good. Our waitress, Cela was super friendly and attentive even though the place was packed. Please do yourself a favor and put yourself on the waitlist for Billy Jacks! And don't get confused by its next door neighbor with a similar name (which is also great but just different!) I really thought that they were overrating this place in the reviews but boy was I wrong. We put our name down and was wary because the hostess said it'd be a 75 min wait. But we walked over to a brewery, grabbed a few drinks and low and behold, in about 40-45 minutes, the table was ready. The Sticky Nugs are just AMAZING. No wonder every college kid walking down has a Sticky Nuggs Box in their hand! They're a 5/5 for sure. Now the Greg Brady Sliders was slightly underwhelming but can you blame a simple slider when the deal is so good? The onion rings were great as well. Plus, now they have Three Floyds Barbarian Haze on tap! This place is just a solid college (or older) eatery with amazing service and I think the sticky nuggs alone are worth it. Lastly, please do yourself a favor and order a Psycho Girl Scout! So. Perfect. read more

The menu is simple - greasy, cheesy, fatty foods. One of my absolute favorite places to get a great burger and fries. Try the Greg Brady and get the cheese fries. Cheap food and cheap drinks, what can be better? read more

Sticky nuggs were 10/10! I recommend the sweet chili sauce and it comes with ranch/ blue cheese! Love the fun atmosphere and bartenders were very accommodating. read more
I'm a fan of this place!! First off, I love the decor and atmosphere. It's a small, casual place and that is absolutely over decorated in just right jumbled way. Since it's officially the Christmas season, there are strands of colorful lights, walls covered with wrapping paper and stuffed just crammed in every nook and cranny. Love it! Second, there's free parking around the back. Woot! Third, and most importantly, the food is great! My daughter loved her macaroni and cheese. My mom and Mr. M loved their burgers. And my redneck nachos were bomb! For the nachos, you get your choice of having it built in house made chips, fries or tots. Our waitress recommended the tots and I was very pleased with the final product! These things had PLENTY of cheese, some delicious sauce drizzled on top and the most perfect BBQ pork I've ever had! It had the best flavor! It wasn't overly sweet and it wasn't overly tangy with vinegar. Instead, it had this beautiful balance and some spices I couldn't quite place. There was a generous serving of pork and I gobbled up most of the whole plate. The service was friendly and we would totally come back! We definitely found a gem today!! read more

I loved Billy Jack's went here twice!! The atmosphere is cool, the vibe and ppl are very chill. I came here once during the happy hour time frame and again during the 10:30 pm hour. The customer service was good. I loved the layout because at the end of the last table/bar when you turn they have a Take Out area and the kitchen. It's like a cool peek-a-boo wwwwwwindow type thing. It's decorated pretty cool never seen any bar like it. The Food we got were the Shrimp boxes , burgers the first go they put the shrimp in such cool packaging and you get a lot packed in the sauces are soo good. I got garlic herb Parmesan (not like Buffalo Wild Wings sauce color) it's literally like garlic butter the burgers had great flavors and great patty to bread ratio. The 2nd go during a late night stroll we got the wings fried in pork fat!! (Omg) and sticky Nuggs (bbq bacon cheddar sauce pictured) and plain . They give you great flavors to choose from no matter what you get on the menu!! So I'd return here. read more
Great little place near James Madison University. We had the steak sandwich, house made chips, and sticky nuggs. The beef on the sandwich was very tender and the chips had a bbq type flavor that was so good. But the star is this meal were the donuts! Omgoodness.....just get them. We tried the peanut butter, chocolate and marshmallow one and Barbs desk drawer. The peanut butter was my favorite but both were delicious. Service was very friendly! read more
