Best Vietnamese restaurant in town! I love the pho and the noodle bowls. The restaurant is always super clean and the prices are competitive. My favorite dish is the combo noodle bowl (Shrimp, steak and pork) with chopped egg rolls in it. The spring rolls are and crab cheese won tons are also very good. There's nothing bad on the menu. The pho-ga, sesame chicken, egg roll noodle bowl are my favorites not to mention their spring rolls. The peanut sauce is one of a kind. I have been to this restaurant twice this week AND am amazed at how quick we are seated and how fast our food is out without the feeling of being rushed. I can't vouch for ALL their dishes but I can vouch for their mouth watering Pho and egg rolls! I live in Fort Collins and I will gladly made the trek down to enjoy authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Ok, Van and Xiang and all the staff are AMAZING. The spring rolls are definitely "The sheezy" (as the last reviewer said). Try them with the peanut sauce!! I have eaten there twice, and both times the food was perfection in your mouth. The calamari appetizer is a MUST TRY. I got the Crispy Garlic Scallops and I have to say, they were the BEST scallops I have ever eaten. Cooked perfectly, very delicious. And I grew up working in a seafood restaurant. I don't know how people can say waiters are not friendly, there can be issues with staff not being the best at understanding English, but if you are patient, you will get what you want. You should DEFINITELY give this place a shot if you haven't already. read more

After a long day of skiing, we had plans to hit this place for dinner. We made reservations for seven people at 7pm. When we arrived they were ready for us and we sat straight away. The restaurant was pretty busy with only a couple of empty tables. For a strip mall joint the decor was nicely done and the chairs were comfortable. Our drinks came pretty quick and four of us ordered the Hot n' Sour soup to start. The waiter said 'let me check' and when he came back he told us they were out of it then took off again. If he had to check then he must of known and it would of been nice if he asked us if we wanted maybe the Wonton or Eggdrop instead! He did come back eventually and ask that and one guy ordered wonton. The soup had three huge wontons in it and he said it was tasty. I ordered the Chicken curry for dinner. They brought out two bowls of sticky white rice for the table and then our meals. My curry was full with huge chunks of chicken. The menu stated that is was medium spicy and I think may have been a tad underrated as my lips were tingling and my nose was sniffling BUT I wasn't complaining. The waiter kept topping off our water and asking if we needed more drinks. We only had to once ask for more rice for the table and he brought it out quickly. Everyone cleaned their plate so it was all good. My buddy next to me got the spicy bean combo and I may have to try that the next visit as it was very good. So while the location is not close for me, maybe I can make it up there for lunch one day. read more

The menu was about 4 or 5 pages. There was a lot to choose from but I didn't know what was what since I was more used to seeing it in Vietnamese along with English. I've ordered the rice platter combo and I'm amazed of the large amount. Although they've made their fried rice a little different, didn't expected it to come out the way it is. It was worth the money and the long drive but I was expecting to see more rare dishes that you usually see in Cali. I go here a couple of times a month and am a combination noodle bowl fan. Seasoned grilled beef, chicken, and shrimp plus low carb rice noodles and fresh carrot, cucumber, sprouts, and cilantro. Everything in one bowl. Nice! Tuong usually is my waiter and remembers my favorite dish, the combo. If you like it spicy, try their fresh chili paste on top. If you live in the north area of Denver you know that you can't get good authentic Vietnamese food unless you go to Federal and Alameda, the Asian concentration of restaurants. For me that is at least a 45 minute drive into Denver. You can instead drop by in Thornton and almost always be able to get a table. They have a small little bar area and ample seating for most nights of the week. It is common to have to wait Friday and Saturday for a table due to its popularity. The food is always fresh and delicious. They have a fast carryout option also. I highly recommend. read more

When my Vietnamese friends are in town we always to go the Vietnamese Cafe because they have a great selection and great food. I highly recommend the curry chicken or the lemongrass chicken if you don't mind spicy food. The portion sizes are such that you always have enough for left overs, or if you prefer you can easily split one dinner and have plenty for two. The previous reviewer mentioned the pho not being all that great and although I haven't had the pho at Vietnamese Cafe I have heard the same. If you want pho go to one of the multitude of pho restauraunts in Broomfield near Pacific Ocean or my personal favorite Pho 79 down on about 72nd and Federal. read more

Recently moved to the Thornton area from the south side of town. I'm a big fan of Vietnamese food so I've visited this place a few times now, I wanted to like it but reality prevents me from drawing positive conclusions. My very first experience with this place was walking in, and being told to wait to be seated in their lack of a waiting room. Its seriously just two chairs shoved awkwardly in a corner right in front of the door. After being obviously ignored by two employees finally the older gentlemen who was counting something, firmly gestured my way. I couldn't help but feeling it had some rude and discourteous intent behind it, giving me the feeling that my patronage isn't really something they valued. When I am finally seated after an inexcusable wait (plenty of empty tables) I noticed right away how generic their product quality is. Instead of made in house Hoisin sauce they had Kikkoman soy sauce placed on the table, which is something you would buy from Wal-Mart or other corporate conglomerates. Some may consider that a minor detail but for me it really confirmed the message that this is a restaurant that doesn't care about authenticity or quality, it is intentionally marketed towards people who don't know any better. I should also mention the waitstaff seemed equally as neglectful as their hosts. The food arrived and it was ok. Not spectacular and not particularly well priced either, at least compared to the competitive Vietnamese restaurant market which is fairly prominent in Denver. The whole experience left a lot to be desired but I gave them the benefit of the doubt on having a bad night. My second experience went a little smoother. I was seated a little more promptly, ate my average quality food while being mostly neglected by the waitstaff then left. Not much noteworthy about it, which in the restaurant business should speak for itself. There is no reason to choose this place over the countless other Vietnamese restaurants. Once again left the bad feeling that these people don't understand hospitality and treat their customers with extreme indifference. My third experience was today, I took my nephew for lunch. I figured children have a very honest way of critiquing experiences so I could count on gauging his reaction. We couldn't even get seated, and the two chairs shoved in a crowded corner by the door that they attempt to call a waiting room were already occupied. After standing their awkwardly with an increasingly anxious child I had no choice but to turn around and leave without receiving any recognition from the employees at all. This is the last time I will attempt to waste my money on a mediocre product at this establishment. I can't think of a restaurant that has worse service anywhere else in the city. In summary, I'm giving this place a 2 star rating. Pros- They have a nice looking place. The food wasn't terrible, though its not particularly good either. Cons- you are guaranteed to get terrible service and generic product quality. If this is the first Vietnamese restaurant you ever ate at you'll probably like it. If you are familiar with the food at all I highly advise you to skip it. read more

My most fav Vietnamese food. So incredibly good. The egg drop soup is thick and full of flavor. The egg rolls are to die for!!!! I always get the grilled beef plate and at lunch it comes with a ton of extras at a great price!!! My guy loves the combo noodle bowl, it's huge!!! Lastly they have Thai Tea!!!
