    Combination Pho (3.5/5)
    Angel S.

A pretty good casual pho spot. There's plenty to like here. The portions are generous , reasonably priced. The meat is perfectly tender and noodles are great. The broth, however, could use more flavor. The peanut sauce was unique. Their is less think, more light beige and soupy. Not sure it's for me. Don't skip out on dessert. The mango pudding was great. The strong fluorescent lights make it more feel more stressful to eat there.

When it's cold, I always crave pho, and this is my go-to place since it's close to home and clean with a nice dining area. The three of us ordered two bowls of pho, a grilled pork vermicelli, and one Vietnamese iced coffee. The young waitress doesn't speak Chinese, so if you talk to her in Chinese, she won't understand you--but it's not that she's rude. Our food came out very quickly, which I appreciated because I was hungry. There's plenty of parking, so that's never an issue. They now have a kiosk where you can place your own order if you prefer. I'll definitely come back when I'm craving a bowl of pho.

    #8 - Combo #1 with vermicelli(Pork Chop, Chicken Wing and Egg Roll)($15)

Came in on a Saturday evening as the original restaurant that my friend and I wanted to go to was closed. The restaurant was brightly lit and had a lot of available seating. Your typical Asian/Vietnamese style restaurant. Ambiance was quite quiet since they wasn't a lot of people other than some takeouts. They had a kiosk near the front where you can order or you can order in front with the owner as well. Restaurant was pretty clean and also had videos playing food from Vietnam on the TV. Service was decent; owner brought over waters and the food came out in a timely manner. I tried: 1) #8 - Combo #1 with vermicelli(Pork Chop, Chicken Wing and Egg Roll)(6.2/10) - A decent bowl of vermicelli noodles. The portion size for the price was very reasonable; a lot of vermicelli noodles, veggies(lettuce, pickled carrots and daikons, bean sprouts and cucumbers), 2 grilled pork chops, 3 chicken wings(drums and wings) and 1 egg roll. Overall the dish was just okay - didn't wow me other than the portion size. The pork chops were marinated well and grilled well, not dry at all. The highlight of the bowl was the chicken wings, those were cooked really well - light, crispy, hot and juicy! The one let down was the eggroll.....I didn't finish this since it had a funky taste...not sure if it was the seasoning or something else. Also, the fish sauce mix was just okay; it lacked the usual umami you get from fish sauce...maybe a bit too diluted; wasn't to my liking. Overall, its a okay Vietnamese restaurant and very affordable. But wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

The Thai Tea was a miss for me. Very powdery, and the milk didn't fully mix in, leaving it clumpy. On the other hand, the Garlic Noodles were tasty, not too oily, and a solid value at $8. I personally wouldn't pay double the price to add protein, but the noodles themselves satisfied my craving. I ordered at the counter for takeout, and my order was ready in under 15 minutes, which was super convenient. The menu has so many options I'd love to try, and I'm definitely planning to come back to explore more dishes.

I stopped in for a bowl of Pho on New Year's Day. The staff here are incredibly kind and welcoming, which I really appreciated. However, the Pho itself wasn't quite to my taste. The broth had a very intense beef flavor that felt a bit overwhelming, and I found myself wishing for more spice and complexity. While I'm sure those who prefer a heavy, beef-forward broth would love it, it wasn't the right fit for me and I couldn't quite finish the bowl.

    Grilled Beef Banh Mi

Super affordable place for banh mi and rice or noodle plates! Their banh mi was under $10 and came with lots of meat. I got the grilled pork banh mi combo with iced Vietnamese coffee. The grilled pork was very tasty but I wished it was slightly charred more. The Vietnamese coffee was strong. Seems like a very popular place because a lot of people were ordering takeout and I saw lots of DoorDash orders too.

I came here during Labor Day weekend because we decided to eat some Vietnamese food for lunch. We were welcomed and seated right away upon entering. It wasn't too busy or loud, so we were accommodated easily when ordering our lunch. Prior to arriving, we already saw the food on Yelp and they all looked so good! My friend and I split the Garlic Noodles with Grilled Chicken and a Grilled Pork Banh Mi to share since we wanted to try both. The bread was a little hard, but the rest of the sandwich was very flavorful! The garlic noodles with chicken were very flavorful as well. I would come back again for the same dishes, as well as try their drinks!

Came back here for a quick lunch. The combo pho my partner got was okay but the bun rieu was delicious! I'd definitely get it again. The service was a little slower this time but the food was consistently the same. The portions and pricing are better than some places in the Bay Area and the service is normally nice. I prefer to get their non-pho soup noodle dishes since they're better than their pho imo. Will be back to try their other soups!

Loved our experience. Quick service. Clean place. Not too crowded during dinner time. Big portions. We got the combo #1 plate and combo pho. Enjoyed both.

My mom and I swung by here in between apartment tour sessions, and we got the chicken rice dish and #1 pho. The broth was exceptional and the rice dish was so savory! Absolutely stacked with meat and veggies to the brim. Really homey vibes with authentic dishes, definitely a great place to go for a simple atmosphere and comfortable portions.

We came here for dinner a few days ago because we always see this spot pop up whenever we're looking for dinner ideas. I'm happy to say we were pleasantly surprised by this spot & will gladly return! I was feeling a little under the weather so wanted something soupy and nothing cures you more than a nice hot bowl of pho! My fiancé and I both ordered the combo pho #1 which was flavorful and surprisingly the beef brisket & rare beef weren't rough in texture or too chewy. Sometimes I feel like the restaurants make the cuts too thick and the meat is super tough to chew. The person at the table next to us ordered a vermicelli bowl and honestly it smelled so good! If I weren't under the weather I definitely would've ordered that. Overall, a great little spot near where we live & will return to try the other dishes. Also just genuinely like supporting small local businesses.

I got the potato salad and the zhajiangmian, and my boyfriend got the Lanzhou beef noodles and pork burger. I just picked through all of them and ate the remaining dish afterwards- the potato salad was yummy and the zhajiangmian was savory and came with lots of minced pork! My boyfriend enjoyed his Lanzhou beef noodles a lot, the beef was tender and the broth was incredibly flavorful and delicious. He liked the pork burger a lot as well, they did not skimp on the meat and the bun was fluffy! I would highly recommend this dish to anyone, it's a classic that is done well! I don't eat porridge often, usually when really under the weather so I'm fortunate to not gone to get some in a while. I called my pickup order since I didn't see an online option. The store front is Ichi Ramen so it's confusing in case you get lost in the busy plaza. I ordered shrimp, fish and plain porridge (congee) along with beef chow fun. 4 dishes total. Total came out to under $60 and it was a heavy bag! The porridge has a nice thick consistency without being runny. It had flavor to not need seasoning and surprisingly large portions of seafood. The chow fun was decent but I've definitely tasted better. Kinda pricy at $18 though the beef slices were big. I appreciated it wasn't as oily as other chow fun I've had so easy to eat without feeling kinda gross after. Solid value, good food, and worth a rec for porridge. All in all, I'd definitely return. 4.5 stars.

The friend Chinese donut was crispy and airy, slightly oily so fryer oil may have needed to be hotter and fry cook need to slow down and let oil temp recover. They do have outdoor seating, not that it would help much when the lunch crowd is huge. Since the store name emphasizes on Hainan chicken, i havent quite explored their other menu items. First time I had the Hainan chicken rice plate, another time I had the noodle version. Funnily I find their rice plate version smaller portioned than the noodle soup, however it's not a true Hainan chicken experience without having oil rice. Both dishes serve Hainan chicken with scallion oil marinade and roasted peanuts. While noodles have oyster mushroom and spinach, rice plate has pickled veggies. Overall it gets the craving settled, its not the greatest though. The noodle soup was an interesting option. It feels a bit like when youre making noodle soup at home and just tossed in random toppings. I had corn, spinach, oyster mushroom. Definitely not a combo I see commonly. The soup was not bad, its drinkable, not salt at all. However its a bit odd to pair it with Hainan chicken, perhaps better with fishcake or meat balls, I did see a meatballs version. They do have other noodle style and broths to choose from, such as hot and sour, laksa. They do offer fish paste noodle if you want a teeny tiny bit more protein. Overall food is okay. It's nothing to rave about, even though I love Hainan chicken.

Customary at most Vietnamese restaurants, you get your food with minimal check ins and not even a plate clearing until the bill comes. This was NOT the case here. There service was definitely in the A/A+ range! I ordered on my phone via QR code, but there was an option to order in person from a server. I ordered many items to try out. I ordered spring rolls, crispy salt and pepper wings, grilled pork banh mi, beef dac beit pho, and a Thai iced tea. Thai Iced Tea was pretty good. Grade: A I thought the Spring Rolls were decent, but what made them even better was the peanut sauce! I always hate when the peanut sauce is watery and this was far from that! An excellent gooey peanut sauce and maybe one of the best I've had fpr consistency. Grade: A- Crispy salt and pepper wings definitely had an incredible crunch. They were up there in crunchiness. The drumettes were meaty which I appreciated. They were well seasoned also. I think I need to try their other wings before crowning these, but some of the cruncheist wings I've had for sure. Grade: A- Beef Dac Biet Pho had some real high quality meat in it. I had options in noodle and my go-to for any pho spot is the egg noodles. I wish it had more bo vien in it, but I appreciated the combo of meats. The broth seemed authentic, but I wanted a tad more flavor out of it without adding sauces. Overall, the pho grade was a B+ bordering an A-. The star of the show was the grilled pork banh mi. The meat was tender and saucy. In fairness I asked for extra pickles and mayo, but I was very impressed. The bread had the crispy crunch we all look for but minus the stale bread. The breads soft yet crispness made it seem as if it just came out of the oven! I'm going to dub this as the best I've had in the Bay Area! There I said it! Grade: A+ Everyone who ordered the sampler seemed very pleased at other tables, I would definitely try that. Also, want to try the other banh mis and noodle options for the pho. There was a nice vibe at this place. I didn't feel rushed although they do close fairly early at 8pm. The server's mom is the one cooking in the kitchen and I appreciated the family feeling at this place. They do have a newer location in San Francisco that has a DJ Friday nights that I may check out. I believe the server said that they are open til 2am on most nights, but I may have misheard her. Feel free to Yelp that location. This place met everything I was looking for: plenty of parking (inside Burlingame Plaza), near SFO, efficient service, and high ratings. When my daughter and I arrived a little before 5:30pm, they were already pretty full. By the time we left, a little after 6pm, there're people waiting at the door. We got seated right away. Service was minimal. We helped ourselves to the pitcher of water on the table. After looking at the menu on the table, we placed our order by scanning a QR code. Since we're not too hungry. We ordered one appetizer and one noodle dish to share. The special mix salad came pretty quickly. We ordered "less spicy", and it had the perfect amount of heat. All the ingredients tasted fresh and the dish had a bit of everything we wanted to try. I liked the tofu skin the best, and my daughter loved the crunchy cucumber. It would be even better if they included lotus roots as well. It took a little while for the house special beef noodle soup (less spicy) to arrive, but it was totally worth the wait. It came piping hot. The broth was very flavorful, with the right amount of red pepper. It wasn't oily at all. The beef was super tender. I loved the texture of the noodles, and the beef to noodle ratio was not bad. A really solid dish. Would love to come back again to try their other dishes, especially their xiao long bao.

Service was prompt and there was no wait. Theres parallel parking in front but its usually filled. Theres a lot behind the store and parking in the next street. But I'm not upset at all about this impromptu decision as we had a great meal here. Our table of 6 ordered a variety of dishes and everything was delicious. the most notable items for me were the spicy wontons and fish in chili oil. The dishes were spicy but not so much so that you couldn't enjoy the actual flavors of the dish. For those that like the Szechuan tingling feeling, the chicken in explosive chilis was also quite good. We had also given the string beans, green onion pancake, and pork and shrimp dumplings a shot and all of them hit the spot. I'm usually a huge fan of braised beef noodle soup so decided to get that here too. It wasn't the same as if I had gotten this dish at a Taiwanese restaurant; compared to the strong flavors of the other dishes, this one was pretty mild. So it's something I would skip next time I come, but every other dish was on point. Our waitress was also great at taking care of us, bring out our food quickly and helping us to clear the other plates. Even after we finished our meal and overstayed our welcome by continuing to chat, the staff didn't make us feel rushed to leave.
