Very cute little Vietnamese restaurant. The food is good and tasty. The service is excellent with the waitstaff helpful and quick. It has all your classic pho, noodle dishes and banh mi. We tried the salad rolls, fresh and tasty. I had the vermicelli noodle salad with pork, shrimp and spring roll #55? Comes with a light dressing. The dish was good, pork a little dry. The prices are really good. They only accept cash. This is a welcome addition to the Norridge dining scene.
It's great to have a reliable Vietnamese food location, as I frequent the Palatine location fairly often. This restaurant is a little hard to turn into from the busy roads nearby Harlem-Irving plaza, but worth it for the delicious food within and great prices. Note that this spot is cash only, but the servers will warn you before you order and there's an ATM within the restaurant. On my visit here, I tried the appetizer combo which was served quickly, hot, and in the usual enormous portion. The chicken skewers have a ton of meat though it was a little overcooked this time for me. The shrimp rangoons are flavorful and crispy. Spring rolls have a tasty filling and nice crisp skin. The fresh spring rolls are the standout item here, with a great texture, bouncy noodle texture, and a good amount of shrimp that pairs well with their peanut sauce. Overall, worth a visit for anyone who enjoys Vietnamese food and a lot of food at a great price.
Someone I know works near here and loves this Vietnamese restaurant, so she suggested a group of us go and get their pho. It was solid but I found it nothing to write home about (and the Vietnamese people in our group agreed). We got the pho and the fresh spring rolls and it was an enjoyable meal, but I wouldn't recommend coming back here or going out of your way.
After two years of coming here, Viet Taste is still our favorite pho restaurant! Every time we come here, the pho hits!! Hot and flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles, a generous amount of steak/beef balls, and a side of bean sprouts and sliced onions upon request. They are very generous with their portions and once you're finished your meal, end off with one of their yummy fruit slushie bobas -- we like their strawberry and their kiwi slushies, made with fresh fruit. Shout out to Z for being the best server ever! She knows our orders and always takes good care of us. We are customers for life :) heads up, they are CASH ONLY! So bring cash, otherwise they have an ATM inside their restaurant as well.
Crab Rangoon was some of the best I've had in a while. The Pho was a solid 7/10. However, as I was enjoying my meal, something strange appeared on my spoon. A bug that I cannot name was in my pho. They said it had to come from the basil, but there is no way to know for sure. I never write reviews but I'm sitting here gagging every 2 minutes so if I can prevent this happening to someone else then so be it.
This place stands out from the average pho place because: -soup temperature is hot, not just warm. You can see the steam coming off of it -you can taste the warm spices in the pho broth. Actually has character -good amount of veggies to add in, even for a single order -fish sauce at the table. It's nice to not have to ask for it -chili oil with actual heat -vietnamese people come here so it must be good The portions are good, decent amount of meat and noodles, prices are reasonable ($12). Viet Taste is a no-frills CASH ONLY casual Vietnamese restaurant. They are apparently very successful in that they have multiple locations throughout the Chicagoland area. I can certainly vouch for this location to be fairly busy with both a loyal clientele and newbies like me. The place is not very big and is clean with a friendly and helpful staff. I ordered the Lemongrass Chicken with Egg Roll Bún. They served a fairly good size bowl and portion of grilled chicken with 1 egg roll cut into 3 pieces. The vegetables were fresh and crispy and the vermicelli noodles were nice and soft. It was very balanced as no one item overpowered the bowl. The bún was delicious and everything I expected. Prices are also very reasonable. Overall, Viet Taste serves up a fairly good and authentic bún and I suspect their pho is as good. I hope to try their pho some time on my next visit to the area.
Shockingly good. Clean, comfy chairs with tables high enough that you don't have to stoop to eat your pho, a weirdly cozy detail. I didn't realize they were cash only until I got there, but there's an ATM right there so it was no sweat. Staff were friendly and accommodating and the food came out SHOCKINGLY fast. I think I ordered my pho and spring rolls and the spring rolls were at my table in less than five minutes. Crunchy, white hot out of the fryer, and nicely spiced. The pho was killer. Great, strong, lemongrass-forward flavor. My only tiny complaint was the brisket included in my pho was barely there, but honestly I didn't care at all. An extremely filling bowl of goodness while I was under the weather - and did I mention it's $11.25????? Most places around here won't serve an appetizer for that price. Can't recommend Viet Taste strongly enough, I've been talking them up to everyone.
We found this by chance, on the way to the airport. We are about 15 min away. Since on a time crunch, service was great. We ordered right away and got our food quickly. We were able to actually enjoy the food, rather than just rushing to eat. The food was delicious!! We had pho and the broth was light with lots of flavor. The amount of meat was fair for the price. A hefty bowl was under $12. You can't beat that! This is a Cash only spot, so don't forget!

The food here is still really great! The prices are also not bad. A bit steep for boba but they were willing to split one boba into two cups for my kids so that is a plus. It's also still cash only which is fine because the service is quick and efficient. The place is a bit small but we had a good experience and the food is worth it alone to come here. The pho is the best pho ever. You don't have to add anything to the broth other than spice if you prefer it. That's the definition of a perfect bowl of pho!
1st time been there with daughter. So far foods were good, service good. Recommend this restaurant. Will come back try different dishes.
As someone who moved to Chicago from the Bay Area CA, this place is by far the BEST I've had in Chicago/Chicagoland yet. We arrived on a Saturday around 7:30 and they started getting packed and had a wait by 8. They are cash only but if you forget they have an atm inside as well! Prices are so shocking! Each bowl was about $14 which is the cheapest I've seen a bowl of pho in a looooong time. Food comes out pretty quickly. We order the appetizer fried shrimp Rangoon, bun Bo hue, pho dac biet, and avocado smoothie w/boba. The base of soup for both dishes was AMAZING! Good depth of flavor and not lacking anything. The bun Bo hue had a ton of meat and they even have the pork blood cubes! Pho dac biet was lacking a quantity of meat but good variety. The only complaint I have is the Avocado smoothie was very bland and didn't have much avocado taste. The boba tasted old because it didn't have its chewy texture anymore. Will DEFINITELY be coming back for the food!!! read more

I am from California traveling to Chicago. I really enjoyed the food at this restaurant. The bun bo hue was flavorful, and the rice with pork chop exceeded my expectations. Best of all, the prices are very affordable compared to other places I've tried. The goi cuon is only $5.50 for two rolls, while other restaurants charge around $7.50. I highly recommend this spot. Just keep in mind that they only accept cash, although there's an ATM inside. read more

This is my go to place for a comfort meal! Been here a lot and the food has been consistently great. You seat yourself. The menu is simple and to the point. It's a small cute store with enough seats to rotate. For dinner, it's almost consistently filled. My usual is the bun bo hue, which has actual blood cubes and I load mine with basil and veggies. I have enough left over for another meal. I really like their spring rolls too. Great peanut sauce for dipping. The drinks are also nice. The milk teas are fragrant and the fruit ones are refreshing. My favs are jasmine milk tea and lychee+mango smoothie. The smoothies do cause the tapioca pearls to harden from the ice so be warned. CASH ONLY. If that wasn't clear enough. There is an ATM machine in store if you need more cash. read more

We used Yelp and found this place, and I have to say, the high reviews are well deserved! We weren't sure what to expect, but the food was fast, super fresh, and just plain delicious! The restaurant itself is clean, well designed, and cash only. They have an ATM inside, so that makes it convenient for customers. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. It felt like we were visiting a family member's house. The food, oh my god the food! We ordered the appetizer sample just to get a taste of everything, and crab Rangoon. Everything was perfect! It came out quickly, and it was all so fresh and delicious! The shrimp Rangoon was my favorite, but all of it was amazing. We ordered two different banh mi and a bowl of spicy beef lemongrass soup. Everything again, was beautiful, fresh, and delicious. I've been on a search for a great banh mi, I've been disappointed with the classics on Argyle lately. I'm happy to repost, I've found my newest banh mi supplier! They're the best I've found in a while, and at a really unbelievable price. Everything was very reasonable. All of the food with tax was $50. For the quality of food, I would have been happy to pay twice that. Really excellent food and service! I can't wait to go back! read more
This place is small but very good. CASH ONLY btw. Came here on a Saturday afternoon. Almost all the tables were taken. We got seated right away and ordered some crab Rangoon and an avocado smoothie. Really good. I got the brisket pho and it was delicious on a cold rainy day. The noodles were good and the broth was my fav part. My husband got one of their Korean bbq sandwiches, he said it was ok. The staff are attentive. We will definitely come back. read more

Great place! Small and intimate but with a very big menu! We had a hard time deciding what to get, but we both enjoyed the dishes. The soup was hot and fresh, the wings were very flavorful and done just right. We enjoyed our evening and will be coming back soon! read more
Wow, I did not realize good value dining like this still existed. In short, nothing fancy here but a lot of very good Vietnamese dishes at great prices. Our party of 4 met up here at 6:30pm on a Tuesday and it was busy and we got the last open table. After looking at the menu and ordering I could understand the popularity and high ratings here. We ordered: #01 - Viet Taste starter plate for 3 #62 - marinated pork chop with fried egg and honey sausage (mine) #50 - vermicelli noodle salad with shrimp #40 - pho with brisket, tendon, and tripe #32 - pho with combo meats The pho bowls are very large and were served scary (I hope no one ever spills these) piping hot. I really enjoyed the delicious appetizers as well as my delicious pork chop and sausage with white rice dinner. They were tip-top did I say delicious and astonishing great deals and the pre-tax total was just $70.13. Our server was attentive enough, though a bit harried in the busy place. The food arrived pretty quickly. They also serve a good variety of some nice looking smoothies and bubble teas. It's also cash only fyi. We came slightly out of the way here just based on Yelp reviews for Vietnamese, so thanks to all the good Yelpers. My GPS sent me to the back entrance of the restaurant though off of Irving Park Road which was a little sloppy and eye-brow raising. So go to the front entrance on Forest Preserve Drive for a proper introduction. Great little good-eats place and thank you! read more
It's looks like a hole in the wall Pho restaurant next to the mall, but it serves the best pho around Chicago. I have been here several times before, and every time, the taste has been consistently fresh and perfectly savory. Not to mention, the wait times are short, and staff are friendly. They only accept cash but have an ATM inside to accommodate. I ordered the Pho GA, or chicken pho, and it was delicious. The bowl comes filled with chicken breast, rice noodles, onions, and green onions. The broth is a beef broth and is by far the best tasting broth around. The color of the brought speaks for itself. I also ordered the spring rolls. They come with fresh lettuce, shrimp, bean sprouts,rice noodles, and mint. Their dipping sauce is a peanut one and has more of a strong peanut taste than others I have had. This is great for me since I love peanuts and peanut butter. I will be coming here for all my pho needs, and I recommend it to everyone to try. read more

This place is tasty pho real. We ordered: - spring rolls, (2 to one order), which had traditional shrimp, lettuce, bean sprouts, mint, rice noodles, and wrapped with soft rice paper. - Korean beef banh mi sandwich -- decent, although a little too much bread-to-meat ration for me, but I'm not a big bread guy - Two Pho Dac Biet pho, which is a great combo to taste all the meats there is! Beef slices, brisket, tendon, and tripe although the tripe was probably the least amount of the pho. The beef noodle soup with meat, onion, and cilantro in rich beef stock with fresh rice noodles.. the bean sprouts, mint, and lime toppings made this pho go to another level. Really good! - Fried chicken appetizer -- several pieces of chicken, not to batter-y (I made my own word, although battery is a real word) Overall experience was good, service was somewhat slow, although I understand that it seemed like there were only two people staffed. They did a great job regardless and the food was good. read more

Perfect lunch for two -- grilled pork banh mi and phở tái nam. We said we were sharing and they brought extra plates and bowls which was super nice. The banh mi was perfectly crunchy and the phở broth was SO good. The staff were great and our food came out quickly. Cash only with a no-fee ATM onsite. Loved everything here! read more

Pro's: Standard, but fresh spring rolls and pho for very, very reasonable price near Schiller Park Preserve. I haven't seen a steaming hot bowl of pho for less than $11 (before tax and tip) in a LONG time or an order of spring rolls for less than $5 (before tax and tip). Service seemed a little pushy in the sense they wanted us to quickly order and we as patrons were too busy chatting instead of looking at the menu. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but it's a decent and convenient spot in the area. Con: Cash only, which is understandable given they need to do that to keep costs down and thus, prices down. read more
