Pho 777 has a very extensive menu, and they decorated the inside with paper flowers for spring which was so cute! They have a vegetarian section which at first glance does seem a bit small, however it seems you can order dishes and substitute the meat for tofu. I ordered the banh hoi and just asked for tofu instead of shrimp. Our server was very helpful, and not only did they easily accommodate but their tofu is also really good! Super light and crispy on the outside and inside was very silky and rich. As you can see, this was a huge plate of food! I had leftovers but it would've also been good as a sharing dish. This usually isn't our pho spot but my husband and I dined in tonight. We ordered the spicy bun bo hue and pho triple 7 special. The garnishes came out first and we noticed it wasn't fresh because the toppings were already discolored. The food hit the spot but more improvements could be made especially with having fresh, crisp, new toppings for the soup and not discolored sprouts and wet leaves. But then we looked at the notice said they just moved down the street and our frowns turned upside down. I wanted the number 9 and right away our server said no get the number 10 or 15, it's better. The spring roll was the best spring roll I've ever had, and it's because they added beef to it, which I haven't experienced before. I felt like my grandma was serving me which made this even more cozy. When she came to collect our dishes and we still had half of spring roll on our plate she said, I don't want to throw it away someone's eating it. I've been eating at Pho 777 for years and used to love it, but lately, the quality just isn't what it used to be. We went there today and ordered the bún bò Huế, and it was surprisingly bland. We mentioned it to the owner, and she gave us some fish sauce and chili oil, but that didn't really help. The broth just didn't have the rich, flavorful depth it used to have. Even the special pho I ordered tasted watered down and lacked that comforting bone broth flavor I always looked forward to. I was so hungry I ended up finishing it, but it just felt off. As for the ambiance, it's still the same it hasn't changed much over the years. It feels like a typical Vietnamese restaurant, nothing special or unique about it. It's a little disappointing, especially since this place was once recognized by the Michelin guide years ago something that's no longer the case, and now I kind of understand why. 3.5 stars! I need to preface this by saying I hold extremely high standards for Vietnamese food. I thought everything was good and would definitely eat here again, but I have had better viet food. Staff is really friendly and attentive! Pho - got the special pho which has all the meats in it (eye of round steak, well done flanks, hind shank, soft tendon, bible tripe, & meatballs). The broth was delicious and had a lot of depth to it! The meats however were a bit chewy and I would've liked better quality meat. There were some pieces I had a really hard time chewing through, and some pieces were just fat. I would recommend just getting the eye of round steak & meatballs because these are the best quality and tastiest. Also recommend asking for the eye of round on the side instead of in the pho so that way you can cook it yourself in the pho broth to your liking, otherwise it will be well done when it comes out because it's sliced so thin. Banh xeo - this is my favorite Vietnamese dish, and this one is HUGE! No complaints there, it's filled with pork, shrimp and bean sprouts. I thought this one was super crispy and flavorful, however it was just a tad bit oily. Banh cuon tay ho - steamed rice rolls with pork sausage, grilled pork, and shrimp cake. The grilled pork in this dish was phenomenal! The flavor and smokiness of it was so good. The rice rolls were a bit on the thicker and chewier side. read more

Two of us are Vietnamese and from Orange County area, so we've eaten plenty of amazing Vietnamese food throughout our lives. For a place named Pho 777 I can't comment on the pho. A friend of mine asked if I had ever been here after she saw a post on Instagram that featured the Bun Cha. That was basically more than enough for me to head out there. Obviously, I was going to have the Bun Cha, but I saw the Bun Xeo on the menu. I had miss the opportunity to get it and another Vietnamese restaurant that had it on the menu but was denied because they no longer had it on the menu and didn't have time to take it off. So, the Bun Xeo is described as an appetizer but that thing is huge! I wish the photo could do it justice but the description saying it's a crepe is a bit of an understatement. I'm pretty sure there's 4 eggs in there and of course after you load it down with veggies it gets pretty hefty. I think the lady was kind of trying to warn against overordering because with Bun Cha, she mentioned that it comes with rice paper and it needs to be wrapped separately. I think she was trying to say that between the the Bun Cha and the Banh Xeo my stomach would feel like it was going to explode and those two dishes would take up the entire table. I did feel like I ate too much, but it was all so good that I basically couldn't help myself. The combination of tofu, pork, fresh veggies and noodles for the Bun Cha was great and this was probably the best Banh Xeo I've had outside of Hanoi. read more
