Good foods. It was my first time here. I and my girlfriend tried Phở đặc biệt and Bún bò huế. They were both great! The portion is large as well. Satisfied! When I paid for the check, I skipped the tip option and the guy was a "little" surprised and unhappy. Don't worry, I tipped cash. It's just my habit. Will come again. read more

The pho here is very good, and I really like that they use the wider noodles compared to a lot of the other pho spots in Uptown. The portions are also huge, so you def get your bang for the buck. We came during a busy Sunday lunch rush, and the restaurant was pretty packed. There were a couple of service issues, though. I asked for a plastic cup for a child since the water cups were glass, but the server didn't seem to understand the request at first. I was a little confused because I figured they must have to-go cups for takeout orders. Another server eventually came and correct the issue, especially since my dad dines here frequently he had told him the issue. I also asked if I could get some extra pho broth, but unfortunately that wasn't an option. Overall, the pho itself was really good and the portions were generous, but the service experience could have been a little smoother. read more

We started off with the Saigon sampler, and it was a very tasty start to the meal. It was mainly fried food, so I loved dipping all of them in the fish sauce and sweet and sour! I got the bbq pork banh mi with fries; I loved how juicy the bbq pork was and the crispy fries paired so well with it. The service was perfect since they always came by to refill our waters or if we needed anything. Additionally, he made a few recommendations to us since it was our first time here. The ambiance was very clean and modern for a spot in Argyle. I enjoyed the vibe it gave, and I liked how there was a ton of sauces to use on the table. read more

What a yummy place. This restaurant has so much seating and many options on the menu to choose from. I got the beef banh mi and it was so filling and yummy. It also came with a side of shrimp chips or fries. The service is so fast and kind. Definitely would come back here to try more off the menu read more

i ordered a Spicy Ramen Bowl, every ingredient was so fresh. Very delicious. They serve a very big portion of Ramen. The server was very professional, kind and courteous. My order came up very quick. My Vietnamese friends recommended this place for their Bun Bo Hue and they weren't wrong. I've had my fair share of Bun Bo Hue while traveling around Hue, Vietnam and I must say that this is definitely one of the best out there. The best part of the dish was undoubtedly the broth. The broth is very rich and deep in flavor. Although it has an intense color, it wasn't too spicy. Highly recommend! read more

I just picked up my order and didn't like the vibe at all. There were a lot of people eating and I didn't want to make them feel uncomfortable so I stood faced away from the other customers towards the register, waiting for my order and one of the guys looked embarrassed I was standing so he said to sit down in a controlling way. That rubbed me off wrong. Never ordering here again if the people aren't even inviting. I wasted $60 trying to support a business that looks at me like I'm a homeless bum marching into their restaurant. read more

Delicious bun bo hue! Portion is huge and packed with great flavors and protein. The food came out so fast and service was attentive and fast. Overall loved this new pho restaurant we tried and would love to return for more! read more

Cute restaurant with great service. I had the chicken wing appetizer and the beef short rib rice plate, both were delicious. They have chili oil and paste on all tables but the pickled garlic stole the show for me. I'll be back :) read more

I came here on a Saturday night. My friend and I travelled all the way to Argyle for some pho. We wanted to try a place we haven't tried before. Miss Saigon caught our attention with their interior and the amount of people eating inside. It wasn't packed but we secured a nice little table by the front of the restaurant. The waiter came to us after maybe 3-5 minutes. I ordered the pho with everything and my friend ordered the pho with meatball. We also ordered the banh mi with fries. I would say that the fries were so good. It was crispy and flavorful. The banh mi was nothing special, just what you expect. The phos however were really oily. It was oily because they added short ribs to the soup. The pho noodles were also not as thin as we expected. It was more of a flat noodle. read more

Only taking off one star for the short ribs that tasted a little old. But overall it was very good service. I had a Big party that came right around when is stepped in which made the service. A little slower. They were filling my water constantly and refilling napkins . read more

I visited Miss Saigon for lunch on Tuesday. I wanted to check it out after seeing the restaurant featured on "Check, Please." I was not disappointed. I went with a friend and we shared an appetizer sampler and also some Baos Viet Tacos. Everything was fresh and delicious! I can't wait to come back to try some other menu items. I highly recommend this restaurant! read more

The Uptown neighborhood in Chicago is full of delicious pho options and this was one I only recently discovered on recommendation of a friend. Miss Saigon has all the makings of the traditional pho joint you get in the neighborhood with all the modernness of a new restaurant. Cool vibes and great food make for a great experience! Super open concept so you don't feel crammed in at all. Service is great and you get your food quick . read more

We stopped by here to try, thinking all the pho places should be pretty good at Argyle. It's definitely have a nice atmosphere and pretty modern and spacious. They use really nice water cups. The food wasn't bad but not super spectacular. They use the thick wide rice noodles for pho, the soup base is not bad tho. We tried their sampler platter and thought nothing really stood out, the shrimp roll which I judge a place on is pretty plain, no special veggies like mint or basil inside. The peanut sauce and the sweet sauce were okay too, not bad but also not spectacular. I was interested in their southern style chicken based pho with egg noodles. I thought it was not bad but my husband didn't like it. It kinda tastes like instant ramen broth, but better, if you know what I mean. It had seafood but all were a little too tough/overcooked. The bao was fine too, pretty small and the meat were a little tough. We weren't super impressed but it is still better than the really bad pho places, at least the pho broth tastes like pho. The only issue we had was that the staff appeared to be sick but they didn't wear a mask or anything. Hope we didn't catch anything from the restaurant!! Overall I think the quality and the quantity were a little less than we expected for the price they charge. read more

Wanted to try a new Pho place from the usual spot I go to on Argyle. Food was ok at best for the money you are spending. Broth of flavorful and the meat serving was generous. I did not know/expect the noodles were the wide noodles and not thin ones. Service was not great. The only time I saw a waiter coming to our table was taking our orders and filling the water cups once, other than dropping off food. Meal was finished and trying to get them to come over so I can pay for the meal. Watched them socialize with each other, check other tables out, and made multiple eye contacts with them and nothing. I finally decided to get up to go up and pay, that's when I was told they will meet me at the table. Overall experience was not great or even good. Will definitely be eating around at other places. read more

I got the short rib noodle salad, papaya salad, and my friend ordered the shrimp noodle salad. I wish they had the grilled pork noodle salad. My family from California came to visit and were craving solid Vietnamese food by the tail end of their trip. We ordered it bbq pork baos, pho Saigon and bun bo hue. The pho and BBH broth is slightly on the sweeter side but still so good, broth is very developed and clean. My family are pretty tough critics on Vietnamese food and they were happy with the meal, comparable to back home. I like how they offer pickled garlic/chilies on the side, you don't get that often. Might be the top BBH and pho place I've found in Chicago so far, especially in Argyle. Clean restaurant and friendly service. When I'm craving pho or BBH, this would be my go to. read more

Love everything about Miss Saigon Every time I'm in Chicago, I have to swing by for lunch and comfort food. Their signatures are Pho and Crispy Chicken, but I still haven't tried the Pho because I'm hooked on that crispy chicken. It's SO good! You can get it with fried rice or noodles, and both are solid choices. The chicken is super flavorful, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. The taste is so authentic it really reminds me of home. Their Bun Bo Hue is also incredible and really comforting. The staff here is 10/10. They were super thoughtful and welcoming, and they made me feel extra special when I mentioned I was visiting from out of town. The restaurant is in the heart of Vietnam Town. It's pretty small, but cozy and clean. Exactly what I look for in a comfort food spot read more

Didn't really think to take a picture of my Pho tai since it was kinda forgettable. The food was solid. Noodles were the thicker, slicker type noodles, rather than the thin and bouncier ones, which is fine. Sliced beef was sparse, but not too tough. Broth was flavorful enough, but nothing to write home about. I'm used to Viet food from San Jose, so my standards are probably on the higher side Vibe felt like a typical Viet restaurant, feels family-owned, which I like to support. Pricing was a bit high, but probably expected in uptown Chicago. What I didn't appreciate was that they tacked on a 20% service charge and didn't say anything about it, and I tipped 15% on top of that. I don't mind a 20% service charge for parties of 6+, but I don't like how they didn't communicate it. They just handed me the pay machine already set to the tip screen, with no sort of itemized breakdown. Ended up paying like $33 per bowl of mediocre Pho, which is more than enough to get lunch price AYCE hotpot or KBBQ even in HCOL areas like Silicon Valley. read more

I would say this has amazing Bun Bo Hue, and I know when it's good. The flavors and color was there, so much fresh herbs that came out. The Pho Saigon was also filled with flavor, just wish it came out a little hotter. The service was great and I loved the ambiance inside. It was Vietnamese music playing and sometimes I rarely hear it in restaurants. We also had the Rolls Sampler which came with two egg rolls and spring rolls which were also fresh. Loves this place and wished I found it earlier. read more

The restaurant and location will really transport you to Vietnam. You'll feel like you're sitting in a local restaurant in Vietnam. They had Vietnamese music videos playing in the background which was really a cherry on top. We were seated very quickly and the wait staff was very attentive. The pho had a very rich broth. They provide hoisin sauce, siracha, and beef fat (if requested), to mix in with your pho. The noodles were a thicker variety and well cooked. And there was a good variety of different types of meat in the Pho Special. read more

It's a cute place, but we had a very meh experience getting takeout from here. They forgot to pack my colleague's meal, so I had to walk back to get it. Then they tried to give us the cold sandwich and cold fries (which had been sitting out for ~30 min). That was fixed upon my request. We did get a little bag of shrimp chips for the trouble. So just make sure to check your takeout bag thoroughly! The food was good enough. The folks who ordered banh mi were satisfied. My pho was a little flavorless but that may also have been my annoyance at the experience at play. My colleague who ordered the southern seafood noodles was very impressed -- so I'd recommend that. Crab rangoons were tasty. I wouldn't mark this as a "must go back" next time I'm in town, but if I lived around here I could see myself coming here once in a while. read more

Well, we come here when we crave their Crispy Chicken Mi Kho. Unsurprisingly, like everything these times, they increased their prices. But the increase was too ridiculous! $20 for a papaya salad is DIABOLICAL! Their Pho also saw crazy increase in prices! We went to Miss Saigon last night with a group of neighborhood friends. It was our first time there, but a few weeks ago my husband and I had walked by and thought that it looked really cute. And it is cute! There are colorful murals and twinkling lights. The furniture is made of raw wood, and looks homemade, but it suits the space. We arrived at 6pm, and there were only a few other customers, but within an hour the place was filled. Service was friendly, but slow because there was only one person working the front of the room. There may have only been one person cooking, too. The menu is nice with a lot of Vietnamese choices. There are at least ten choices of pho, and many rice bowls and salads. We all order spring rolls, and they were fresh and delicious. I had the shrimp pho. It was delicious and loaded with generous quantity of medium-sized shrimp. Prices were fair for the food quality and quantity. We enjoyed our meal and the room. Miss Saigon is a polished gem on Argyle. Give it a try! read more

Came on a Saturday evening and was seated right away. The bun Bo hue had tons of meat which I appreciated and came with loads of fresh toppings. - Good food, good ambiance, great service - No reservation made, I don't think one can be made, but maybe calling ahead - We would come back! Tasty and friendly people!! My girlfriend and I were walking up and down Argyle trying to find a spot to eat, and found this place I had walked past ever since I was little. Inside was such a lovely restaurant with a fun Vietnamese interior that was also decorated for Tết! The staff was very friendly and also provided great service. We got there when they opened at 10 and had it for breakfast/lunch. I got the Beef Short Rib w/ Rice and It was a tasty plate to start my morning! There were nice pieces of grilled short ribs covered with a sweet and savory sauce that mixed well with the large serving of rice beneath. The beef and rice also had some vegetables which gave some freshness, especially the cucumbers, and it also came with such a strong fish sauce that really brought it all together (maybe one of the best I've had)! Despite the large amount of rice served, there was a good amount of meat and I left satisfied. There was also the option to have it served with their fried rice, but I was feeling skinny and went with the plain white rice. My pookie got the Bún Bò Huế and it was a nice hefty bowl, but not too heavy, and was a good finisher for me for whatever em yêu did not finish. The noodles were cooked well and the broth was flavorful and not very oily! It was good that the broth was not too spicy so that each customer could use the condiments to adjust the heat to whatever level you wanted. There was also a large amount of protein in both variety and quantity, getting large chunks of meat and an entire pork knuckle in her bowl! With the abundance of meats, there was also a large plate full of very fresh vegetables and a large lime wedge. It was a tasty bowl and they definitely didn't skimp on anything! It was great to see they also account for the toppings and served in it a bowl with taller walls than I'm used to, so even if you add lots of the vegetables, there is still plenty of room to mix everything together. Overall a very good place and we are looking forward to coming back! I would love to try some other rice plates, and they have southern noodle dishes that I would love to try. From em yêu's bowl, I would also love to try some of their noodles in broth and see how their pho tastes. Aside from the food, the staff was very friendly and tended to us as needed and weren't too in our face (if that's your style). Looking forward to coming back! read more

Having frequented this place at least 1x every couple of months for the past 7 years, I have to admit that it's ceiling is somewhere in the 3.5-4 star range. They really do mean well and try their best, but from the serving staff to the cooks, this place employs people who are role playing as restaurant staff, vs actual professionals. Mind you, they all role play well - food is consistently good, service is pleasant, ambiance is unbeatable relative to other places on Argyle. They just lack that extra bit of professional pedigree or talent that typically elevates a place to 5 stars in my book. Still very much recommended! read more
