The service was perfect since they always came by to refill our waters or if we needed anything. Additionally, he made a few recommendations to us since it was our first time here. We stopped by here to try, thinking all the pho places should be pretty good at Argyle. It's definitely have a nice atmosphere and pretty modern and spacious. They use really nice water cups. The food wasn't bad but not super spectacular. They use the thick wide rice noodles for pho, the soup base is not bad tho. We tried their sampler platter and thought nothing really stood out, the shrimp roll which I judge a place on is pretty plain, no special veggies like mint or basil inside. The peanut sauce and the sweet sauce were okay too, not bad but also not spectacular. I was interested in their southern style chicken based pho with egg noodles. I thought it was not bad but my husband didn't like it. It kinda tastes like instant ramen broth, but better, if you know what I mean. It had seafood but all were a little too tough/overcooked. The bao was fine too, pretty small and the meat were a little tough. We weren't super impressed but it is still better than the really bad pho places, at least the pho broth tastes like pho. The only issue we had was that the staff appeared to be sick but they didn't wear a mask or anything. Hope we didn't catch anything from the restaurant!! I came here on a Saturday night. My friend and I travelled all the way to Argyle for some pho. We wanted to try a place we haven't tried before. Miss Saigon caught our attention with their interior and the amount of people eating inside. It wasn't packed but we secured a nice little table by the front of the restaurant. The waiter came to us after maybe 3-5 minutes. I ordered the pho with everything and my friend ordered the pho with meatball. We also ordered the banh mi with fries. I would say that the fries were so good. It was crispy and flavorful. The banh mi was nothing special, just what you expect. The phos however were really oily. It was oily because they added short ribs to the soup. The pho noodles were also not as thin as we expected. It was more of a flat noodle. read more

Wanted to try a new Pho place from the usual spot I go to on Argyle. Food was ok at best for the money you are spending. Broth of flavorful and the meat serving was generous. I did not know/expect the noodles were the wide noodles and not thin ones. Service was not great. The only time I saw a waiter coming to our table was taking our orders and filling the water cups once, other than dropping off food. Meal was finished and trying to get them to come over so I can pay for the meal. Watched them socialize with each other, check other tables out, and made multiple eye contacts with them and nothing. I finally decided to get up to go up and pay, that's when I was told they will meet me at the table. Overall experience was not great or even good. My family from California came to visit and were craving solid Vietnamese food by the tail end of their trip. We ordered it bbq pork baos, pho Saigon and bun bo hue. The pho and BBH broth is slightly on the sweeter side but still so good, broth is very developed and clean. My family are pretty tough critics on Vietnamese food and they were happy with the meal, comparable to back home. I like how they offer pickled garlic/chilies on the side, you don't get that often. Might be the top BBH and pho place I've found in Chicago so far, especially in Argyle. Clean restaurant and friendly service. When I'm craving pho or BBH, this would be my go to. read more

Love everything about Miss Saigon Every time I'm in Chicago, I have to swing by for lunch and comfort food. Their signatures are Pho and Crispy Chicken, but I still haven't tried the Pho because I'm hooked on that crispy chicken. It's SO good! You can get it with fried rice or noodles, and both are solid choices. The chicken is super flavorful, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. The taste is so authentic it really reminds me of home. Their Bun Bo Hue is also incredible and really comforting. The staff here is 10/10. They were super thoughtful and welcoming, and they made me feel extra special when I mentioned I was visiting from out of town. The restaurant is in the heart of Vietnam Town. Really good, authentic pho. Had friends visiting from out of state, my Vietnamese friend approved of it. Staff were nice and the atmosphere was chill n peaceful, not too loud. I would say this has amazing Bun Bo Hue, and I know when it's good. The flavors and color was there, so much fresh herbs that came out. It's a cute place, but we had a very meh experience getting takeout from here. They forgot to pack my colleague's meal, so I had to walk back to get it. So just make sure to check your takeout bag thoroughly! The food was good enough. The folks who ordered banh mi were satisfied. My pho was a little flavorless but that may also have been my annoyance at the experience at play. My colleague who ordered the southern seafood noodles was very impressed -- so I'd recommend that. Having frequented this place at least 1x every couple of months for the past 7 years, I have to admit that it's ceiling is somewhere in the 3.5-4 star range. They really do mean well and try their best, but from the serving staff to the cooks, this place employs people who are role playing as restaurant staff, vs actual professionals. Mind you, they all role play well - food is consistently good, service is pleasant, ambiance is unbeatable relative to other places on Argyle. We went to Miss Saigon last night with a group of neighborhood friends. It was our first time there, but a few weeks ago my husband and I had walked by and thought that it looked really cute. And it is cute! There are colorful murals and twinkling lights. The furniture is made of raw wood, and looks homemade, but it suits the space. We arrived at 6pm, and there were only a few other customers, but within an hour the place was filled. Service was friendly, but slow because there was only one person working the front of the room. There may have only been one person cooking, too. The menu is nice with a lot of Vietnamese choices. There are at least ten choices of pho, and many rice bowls and salads. We all order spring rolls, and they were fresh and delicious. I had the shrimp pho. It was delicious and loaded with generous quantity of medium-sized shrimp. Prices were fair for the food quality and quantity. We enjoyed our meal and the room. Miss Saigon is a polished gem on Argyle. Give it a try! read more

- Good food, good ambiance, great service - No reservation made, I don't think one can be made, but maybe calling ahead - We would come back! Tasty and friendly people!! My girlfriend and I were walking up and down Argyle trying to find a spot to eat, and found this place I had walked past ever since I was little. Inside was such a lovely restaurant with a fun Vietnamese interior that was also decorated for Tết! The staff was very friendly and also provided great service. We got there when they opened at 10 and had it for breakfast/lunch. I got the Beef Short Rib w/ Rice and It was a tasty plate to start my morning! There were nice pieces of grilled short ribs covered with a sweet and savory sauce that mixed well with the large serving of rice beneath. The beef and rice also had some vegetables which gave some freshness, especially the cucumbers, and it also came with such a strong fish sauce that really brought it all together (maybe one of the best I've had)! Despite the large amount of rice served, there was a good amount of meat and I left satisfied. There was also the option to have it served with their fried rice, but I was feeling skinny and went with the plain white rice. My pookie got the Bún Bò Huế and it was a nice hefty bowl, but not too heavy, and was a good finisher for me for whatever em yêu did not finish. The noodles were cooked well and the broth was flavorful and not very oily! It was good that the broth was not too spicy so that each customer could use the condiments to adjust the heat to whatever level you wanted. There was also a large amount of protein in both variety and quantity, getting large chunks of meat and an entire pork knuckle in her bowl! With the abundance of meats, there was also a large plate full of very fresh vegetables and a large lime wedge. It was a tasty bowl and they definitely didn't skimp on anything! It was great to see they also account for the toppings and served in it a bowl with taller walls than I'm used to, so even if you add lots of the vegetables, there is still plenty of room to mix everything together. Overall a very good place and we are looking forward to coming back! I would love to try some other rice plates, and they have southern noodle dishes that I would love to try. From em yêu's bowl, I would also love to try some of their noodles in broth and see how their pho tastes. Good food, humorous Vietnamese server and clean restaurant. The crispy chicken was as named - crispy with traditional lemongrass seasoning. The Asian wings appetizer has a crispy flour skin as well, the sauce didn't make the skin soft, which is fantastic. Personally, I like wings without the flour skin, but this was yummy. Moving here from California, I have not found a good Vietnamese restaurant within the last 4 years. Now, I no longer need to look. I found my favorite Vietnamese restaurant. The bun Bo hue is perfect, but what I love are the condiments- pickled garlic and hot peppers sauce. Delicious!! The drinks reminds me of my trip back to Vietnam. I love this place.
