Food review only. My review is based solely on the Bánh Xèo (Vietnamese crepe). With all the good reviews, I wanted to try this food truck while I was in the area. I ordered the pork Bánh Xèo, but unfortunately it was disappointing. The crepe was soggy instead of crispy, and while the pork itself was good, the overall flavor didn't really deliver what I expect from a Bánh Xèo. It was also missing the fresh herbs like cilantro and mint, which are usually an important part of the dish. The dipping sauce was another letdown, it leaned too sweet and didn't have the usual tangy, sweet-and-sour balance. One thing I also didn't like was that not all menu items had prices listed on the truck, which made ordering a bit unclear. Overall, it was edible, but it didn't meet expectations, and I wouldn't personally order it again. read more

We came across this place when eating at the food trucks in next door. I looked it up and came across some glowing reviews. Also noticed a continuous stream of people ordering and enjoying the food so decided to come back here for dinner next day. Got Pineapple Fried Rice which came in a half pineapple bowl and Spicy Tofu. They take their spicy tofu seriously and we got 3/5 which meant we had to eat the pineapple right after to save our tongues. Both the items were delicious though. Highly recommend this place! read more

After a savory meal from Trydis, I was craving something sweet. Viet808 is also in the Kalākaua food truck park, and has halo halo: I decided to give it a whirl. The halo halo was big, the ice was nicely shaved, and it was filled w/ all the sweet jarred items I am accustomed to. The only thing missing was flan. The service is friendly and fast. The girl offered me the kama'aina rate, but I declined. I don't want to take money out of a small businesses' pocket, if I don't live on the 'aina full time. Viet808 has an expansive menu of Viet and Thai food. I'd like to try some of the entrees the next time I am in town. read more

Food was bland and red?? Ive seen orange and brown but not red pad Thai. Waited over half an hour for clumpy, dry, sauceless noodles. The chicken was dry with the same lack of flavour. Avoid based on my experience, food made me feel sick and didn't finish it. Shame I walked to my hotel before opening it. read more

I ordered 2 summer rolls: the crispy lemongrass chicken and pork. It was $30. Very over priced for 4 summer rolls (appetizer). There was no line at this food truck but I waited a long time before getting my order. There was barely any meat and it was not flavorful. Just stuffed full of vegetables. Crispy lemongrass was dry and just tasted like a chicken tender. read more

The food is outstandingly delicious! Fresh ingredients, beautifully plated and playfully tempts the awaiting palate! When they say you eat with your eyes first, they aren't kidding and here? Both eyes and appetites are vehemently satisfied! So dam ono!! Warm and inviting atmosphere, lovely table service, prompt, informative, helpful and quite attentive. I rarely dine out and usually opt for pickup, but I have since dined in with a friend, my boss and coworker on separate occasions and love doing office orders on payday Fridays. Can't wait to take my son and mom out here soon. The Banh mi's are great! My favorites are the yellow curry and definitely the vermicelli spring roll salad with lemongrass chicken, oh my! Chicken Pad See Ew is on point as well. I'll return again and again they are that good. I hope they couple up with a delivery service soon. I would love to enjoy their delicious food for when the body is under the weather. Much aloha and support and congratulations to the owners! Keep up the excellent standards of food and service! I was in Waikiki and stopped by the food trucks by Ohana Hale. I saw that Viet808 was serving Thai Mango Sticky Rice $11. I had a craving for it and tried it out. It was delicious and served warm. The mango was sweet and the sticky rice was perfect. The sweetened coconut sauce was so good. I wished that they gave more sauce, but that's just me. I like my mango sticky rice drenched. read more

Lemon grass chicken Bahn mi Sandwich pretty large and tasty! Papaya salad dressing is very generous Did I mention Kama'aina discount The wait was a little long, after reviewing some of the other comments, just adjust for the time you'll have to wait, in my opinion it was worth it...bummed that the mango dessert was out, clearly it's delicious. read more

We decided to try this food truck today. The serve a mix of good with vegetarian options. Hubby had the crispy noodle with tofu dish. It very savory and delicious. The vegetables were very fresh and cooked just right. I had the orange tofu. Once again the veggies were fresh and perfect. The orange sauce was just right and it came as a dipping sauce with our veggie spring rolls which were perfectly crispy. I also had the strawberry lemonade which was really refreshing and hubby had the Thai tea. It had a nice mild flavor. Usually you get an over sweetened Thai tea at many places. But this was just right. The prices were as expected for Waikiki Beach area. The food was cooked quickly and the staff were very friendly. This is in an area with many food trucks so your dinning experience is at picnic tables with umbrellas. read more

A Delightful Vietnamese Food Experience in Waikiki During my recent visit to Waikiki, I was pleasantly surprised by the vibrant food truck scene near the Waikiki Monarch Hotel. Among the many culinary options, I stumbled upon a gem called Viet 808. Initially, I was skeptical about trying Vietnamese food in America, as I often find it doesn't quite compare to the authentic flavors back home. However, I decided to give it a shot and ordered a bowl of pho and a serving of beef stew. To my delight, both dishes exceeded my expectations! The pho was aromatic and rich, with perfectly cooked noodles and fresh herbs, while the beef stew was hearty and flavorful, reminiscent of the comforting meals from my childhood. If you find yourself in Waikiki, I highly recommend stopping by Viet 808 and exploring the other food trucks in the area. It's a fantastic way to experience delicious Vietnamese cuisine with a local twist! The restaurant owners were wonderful they welcomed me warmly and were very friendly when talking to me. read more

If I could give this place no stars, I would. This is the chicken they tried to serve me. As I voiced my concern, some old lady came out of the food truck and insisted this is how they make it. I swear she started arguing with me when I tried to return it. I repeatedly said I didn't want it and she kept insisting I try it. Really?? What ever happened to common courtesy? Do not eat here! read more

This is an AMAZING restaurant! They used to be a food truck and now they have a brick and mortar near my place and I am absolutely thrilled! Some of the best food I've had here on the west side! Great little family owned and operated place, fresh home-cooked food with a fun quirky atmosphere! I love sitting out on the patio. My friends and I will literally just order a bunch of stuff and hang out and talk for a few hours. Honestly, this is my favorite place on the west side, come here whenever I can! Price is great, service is super friendly, and again the food is AMAZING! read more

This review is long overdue but my wife and I stopped at the Waikiki location twice while visiting for a few days back in October, and we both genuinely believe it is some of the best Viet/Thai food we've ever had. The Pad Thai, chicken curry and spring rolls were incredible, everything was piping hot and so fresh. We also got to try their strawberry cheesecake egg rolls, and we were blown away by how delicious they were. The girl working the register was super friendly and was the reason we tried their dessert in the first place. We thanked her and her father who was also working in the truck for some of the best food we've ever had. When time permits, we will definitely without a doubt be stopping by again. read more

Food was terrific and the lady managing the window was very nice. I even witnessed a rude customer return screaming even though she ordered the wrong item. It's too bad that food isn't measured by quantity. If, however, flavor factors into the equation, or wait time, problems arise. First... time ... given that food trucks differ a lot in "delivery time", 20 minutes may not seem too long to some; unfortunately, the woman taking orders kept saying "almost ready"... for 15 minutes ... which meant that we could not enjoy the sink g experience with our friends. Sadly, the wait time was a precious to the food. We ordered three items... shrimp fried rice, shrimp pad Thai and strawberry lemonade; the only upside was the shrimp, which was fresh and firm. Sadly, that is the best I can say. The shrimp fried rice was delivered "spicy" when no such request was made, and the spice ended up being the only flavor. As for the pad Thai, it lacked seasoning/flavor and was very "dry". The lemonade tasted like watered down crystal lite. Sadly, an overall, a very disappointing experience. read more

Really great restaurant that we are happy they are here. They were at Makaha Beach in their food truck two years ago when we paddled with Makaha Canoe Club. Awful food, full of MSG and SO salty. Very little meat in the meat pho, and no flavors because it was so salty. We were so thirsty all night. Very disappointed read more

ZERO STAR! Very bad service! Long wait times! My first time to order from this Thai food truck tonight. I ordered around 9:30pm and the cashier told me I have to wait for 15mins. I ordered Mango Sticky Rice and Chicken Satay. I followed-up my order at around 9:47pm, the cashier said the satay is READY but still working on Mango Sticky Rice. They asked for another 5 mins.. I patiently waited and when I went back to check it at around 10:02pm, they said they RAN OUT of Chicken Satay wherein fact they told me earlier that it was "READY". They offered refund but I insisted that I will wait for it since my kids are starving already. They were sorry about it but I was really upset because they gave my order to other customer! When the worker handed me my order, he offered cash but I refused any compensation with their bad service and the terrible experience I had from this food truck. I will NOT recommend it to anyone. Slow service, long wait times and inattentive staff! Save your time and money and find a better food nearby. read more

We love it there and go at least once a week. Friendly and efficient wait staff, extensive menu at reasonable prices.

There're a lot photos of food dishes but no price on them. I ordered crispy noodles, it's very very salty. Sugar cane drink didn't taste natural at all. It's extremely sweet. Crispy potstickers had thick outter layer. I'd prefer a thin crispy kind. Service was long to take order. read more
