I like to support and mom & pop store. Victor seems friendly. I've had a bike fixed here years ago. My son and I dropped off his bicycle to fix the brakes last Wednesday. I wrote my cell phone on his notebook to call me for an estimate. I did not hear from him until I called Friday. He said he had 3 people at the store but will call on that day. He did not. I called on Saturday to check on the bicycle. He said he'll call me on the same day which he did. The bicycle was ready for pickup on that day for $60. If you are not in a hurry, I guess this place is fine. But if you care about letting your "yes" be "yes" & your "no" be "no", there are other bicycle shops out there. read more

I'm being honest, the Tube that you sold me was very THIN grade and quality. I had two new tires. As you can see in this picture, the innertube is a lot thicker. I just heard from other people that you do good work, but seems like talk a lot of shit weak knees. I work on cars and sell them and I work my own bike cycle now learn not to trust. I've read a lot of honest reports about bicycle shops. They're just like mechanic shops, trying to sell parts to a bike that works efficiently but the shop wants to make money. read more

Needed a flat fixed today, walked in and after finishing up with another customer Vic put my bike on the stand and replaced the tube. He also slimed the new tube for me and noticed my front wheel was not seated correctly and fixed that for me. He was done in about 10 minutes and super friendly. Had a bunch of work done due to mileage (1200 mi) - long overdue because I was new to Bay Area and didn't have a go-to bike shop. When I arrived with my neglected bike, I just listed all of the parts that needed replacing (wrote it down myself in a notebook). I was in no rush, but repairs were completed timely (less than 1 week). Price was higher than I expected, but not ridiculous. Workmanship was also good. A few minor negative criticisms are: 1. Cannot pay by credit card or debit (business description says they accept cc) - Apple Pay or Zelle only. A minor inconvenience, but this was never communicated to me by the shop before I picked up my bike. 2. Poor organization. I never received a line item estimate before repairs, or a line item invoice after the repairs. The invoice I did receive (after asking for one) was simply an old-school carbon copy receipt for the total with a few checks marks on general service categories without sub-totals or even totals on parts, labor, and tax. This makes pricing sus. Shop would be better served to provide line item totals to make pricing more transparent. 3. Inconvenient hours - 10 am - 4 pm read more

I had a bike i neglected for over a year that direly needed a tune up. I was able to drop off my bike for a tune up and he had that baby running in less than a week. I've been to another bike shop in town where they have an elitist atmosphere. They seemed well stocked but were rude and condescending when i had an innocent question to ask. However, Vic and his staff are friendly and was surprised how affordable it was considering how expensive everyone else in town is. read more

Vic's has become my go-to shop for service and parts. When I come in, Vic stops what he is doing and helps me. I had a bent rear wheel and he fixed it in 20 minutes. His prices are very reasonable. I haven't been going to Vic's for a super long time, but the store is great. I don't know the names of everyone who works here, but one gentleman who isn't Vic (and Vic seems to be in the store almost daily, if not actually daily) helped me out greatly with repairing my bike. I had bought a few inner tubes and replaced it right in front of the store as they were closing up. He saw how I was affixing my tire and gave me a tip to put it back on more efficiently, he also let me use their pump to fill the tube. He didn't need to do this, but I'm incredibly grateful that he did. The people in the store may not have the sunny disposition a greeter at a department store might have, but they really know their stuff here and they want to help. This isn't to say that they're unfriendly, by the way. The only reason I'm not giving a 5-star rating is because of the store's presentation. It can't really be helped given their small space, but the front end is frequently crowded with parts, tools, and bikes being worked on which makes it feel more like I'm stepping into a workshop than a store. If I could give a half star I would rate the store 4.5 out of 5 because I can't stress enough how much the help and service I've received here overshadows this one problem. read more

If you want advice on a bike or a fix up, this is the place to go. A nice, family owned and operated business with honest answers. Vic did a great job at showing me how to change my tub and even had me do it myself until I got it and understood how to do it on my own. In the past I've always had friends help me out, but vic insisted that I try it myself which I truly appreciated it. I decided to come to vics cause he quoted me a great price on a tune up and sprocket change on my pk ripper. All the other local shops just charge way too much! Victor was a real chill guy! Took a look at my bike, showed me my back wheel was a little off centered (trued). He was super backed up that week with a lot of bikes before mine so it took a week till I got my bike back. But he did a great job! No problems with it at all! I totally recommend spending you're money here over one of those hipster/upscale bike shops! I've always wanted to come to this store, though when I'm around they were always closed for the day or I had something else to do. Finally, had the chance and got to go into, Vic's Bikes, today. Great bike shop it is. Love the family atmosphere here. I can see even the local kids love this store, too. All while I was there today, many kids were coming in to have there bikes tinkered on. Shows a lot of the service here. They spoke very highly of the owner/shop. Victor the owner, is a great man. His wife is also awesome. Great bike selection and parts. From track, mountain and BMX bikes to chains, grips, mirrors, locks, wheels and rims. Grabbed a set (2) of valve adapters, for my Presta valves, to use valve lights for when going night riding. It's great to be seen and not be hit at night. Tire Sparx's, valve lights, were in the store, as well, so I also picked up a set of red ones. Looked super busy when we walked in... Not sure if it was the owner or not, but he asked us very soon after walking in what we needed as he helped another customer. We just got a used stroller that had all flat tires and one of the valves to pump air into looked to be missing. He showed us that it was just lodged into the tire. He asked if we could wait as he finished with his other customer, 30-45 min. We ran an errand, came back and it was sitting there waiting for us. All tires filled, valve is where it should be and one tube replace. Just $15. Fast, easy, cheap. Awesome! read more
