Surprisingly good. Classic biscuit was 8/10 and they have a whole mini topping bar of butters, whips, and jellies for the biscuits. For a healthy option, the Keto Bowl was a 8.5/10...not sure if the spinach was organic (a dirty dozen vegetable). Great value though. Manager Tip: Route the servers carrying food for outdoor tables through the side doors when the line is busy.
Biscuits are always delicious! I stopped by for a morning pick me up and ordered the fat boy. It is one of my favorites on the menu. The biscuit was so butter and delicious and the fried chicken was amazing and the pimento cheese in this definitely the cherry on top!
This was my 4th visit to viscous biscuit while on vacation here they are EPIC. I've tried a few different kinds now and my favorite by far is the vicious biscuit with the fried chicken on a jalapeno cheddar biscuit with candied jalapeños and sausage biscuits and gravy sauce. It's EPIC!!! I'm sure I will be back again before my vacation is over with my big back!!
Viscous bisquit has a cool logo that I coined the term #CyberChef for because I work in cyber security and we use an application called CyberChef. The food is amazing and the staff is very friendly. The are many options for gluten intolerance and celiac. It is a good way food a cyber security analyst to start the morning. Vicious is consistently amazing!
Food - 5 stars! Service - 5 stars! Ambiance - 5 stars! First visit. We walked in and there was decent line but moved quickly. The kid at the counter was very nice and helpful. You place your order at the counter get your number, coffee cup for drip coffee, utensils, etc. Go make your coffee, soda or whatever (foo foo coffee, fresh squeezed OJ delivered to your table) and have a seat. Food came out fairly quickly for a busy morning and while eating a young lady stopped by to see if we needed anything else. The food is the ! Biscuits are so fresh and you have so many varieties of biscuit sandwich options. They have some lighter fare options along with GF. The coolest thing is the Jam & Butter bar...all kinds of compound butters and jams to try. Will definitely try them again if we are back in the area!!
Customer service is awesome!! Didn't get her name but I loved her patience and care when I placed my order. Many ways to have a biscuit. Various options besides bacon and sausage. I'm having a build your own breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice delicious!! Grits are absolutely creamy and flavorful. The pimento cheese add a great addition to the grits. Definitely will order this again
Yum! A well oiled machine. Packed but moves quickly. Some of the most affordable food around! They have a little self serve bar full of various butters and jams. So cute! Seemed like a lot of kids working there and boy were they on top of things and super friendly! Obviously well managed. The sweet puppies are the most decadent sweet potato fritters! Generous portions.
I'll start by saying I'm giving a four because I do feel like things could've been a tad bit better in areas. We arrived for a late breakfast and it was quite crowded, but we easily found parking stood in line for a few minutes. Looking at the menu. When we got to the counter, the young lady was very helpful in explaining the different biscuits and things available and also offered up opinions on the things we were looking for. We didn't get any of the coffees or juices, but we had the vicious biscuit. We did order the beignets to share. One of the kids had pancakes and bacon and I had a simple chicken biscuit with cowboy candy, which is basically sugared cooked down jalapeños. I feel like there could've been more cowboy candy on the biscuit cause it's quite large and there wasn't much to the cowboy candy. The biscuit is going to be either you like it or it's not your type of biscuit. I will say that, even though as thick as it was, it did not have a doughy thick center that I was expecting. The ambience in the restaurant is cute. You sit down with the number they bring your food out they have a flavored butter bar and a flavored jam jelly area there with it. Our food came out fresh and hot. My granddaughter wasn't a huge fan of the maple sausage gravy biscuit, I will add when I cut it up for her. The bottom was extremely hard. I had considered having it remade. My friend got the vicious biscuit and she said she would've liked to gotten more gravy maybe on the side. The beignets were fabulous with the strawberries and whipped cream. She wasn't a huge fan of what was supposed to be scrambled eggs with cheese. All in all we would revisit and we were happy to be able to experience it while in the area.
We visited Vicious Biscuit on our most recent trip to Charleston, SC. I was really looking forward to trying out the famous Southern-style biscuits. The first spot we landed on was Vicious Biscuit. I was surprised by how large the biscuits were. They were sturdy enough to hold the different types of jams and butter we put on them. Every bite of the biscuit had a nice balance of crunchy and savory. Their house-made jams and butter were the ideal complement to the biscuits. I would definitely come here again if I visited Charleston in the future.
For a chain biscuit joint, this place is pretty good!! You order at the counter and then they bring it to your table. They have a honey/butter spread bar which is super fun and you'll find some really choices there. The biscuits are done very well and so were the potatoes, I'd order again! The sweet tea was bad, unsure if the tank needed cleaned or if it was just the taste of it here.
If you're looking for a breakfast joint... look no further! Was browsing through different restaurants to try and decided on Viscious Biscuit due to proximity to the beach we were headed to but so thankful we came here! It was very casual and you order at the register, get a number, grab your utensils, and they bring your food out when its ready. They had outdoor seating, which was great since we had the dog with us. The menu was a bit overwhelming only because there are too many things I wanted to try. However I got the traditional breakfast mainly because I couldn't decide and I wanted to try all the butter and jams at the bar. I really loved the bourbon maple butter and the peach habenero jam...a lot of people seemed to like the blueberry ghost pepper jam because that was almost always empty. Biscuit was great...golden and crunchy on outside but soft on the inside. Bacon and eggs were very good. Potatoes were seasoned well and crispy on the outside. I got the cafe macchiato and thought it had strong coffee flavor but balanced well with sweetness. Husband got the Hen solo and he really enjoyed it...it was a lot of food! My absolute favorite part of the meal is the fresh squeezed orange juice. They have a machine that squeezes oranges and it tastes just like the one I got every morning at the resort when we were in the Bahamas. Highly recommended but go early because they get really busy...even for a weekday!
Such a stellar gluten free biscuit! They actually have a whole gluten free menu that is great. Kids menu has better than average choices sure to please little gourmands. Juicy chicken, yummy gravy, creamy grits, and fresh orange juice. Great delivery option as it travels well. Also cute counter order table spot. Great to recommend to your visitors too for a taste of the south that doesn't break the bank.

First time here and love it! At first, I was not impressed since the line was out the door. But it moves fast and no one was waiting on a table to free up. Fast serve and good food! I got the Vicious Benny was delicious! Portion sizes are large. The Gravy Train is 2 biscuits with 1 pound of gravy, it's big! Can't tell you how munch this is worth the wait! read more

We went on a Saturday, late morning, so it was busy. There isn't a ton of parking so hopefully you get lucky and find one, which we did. The line was out the door but luckily, it was a nice day so no big deal. The line moved at a decent pace. What I found odd was for how long the line was, the tables weren't all full. Either the line was going at a slower pace or they put in more tables than were necessary. Oh well... not complaining about getting a table =) We had The Sweet Puppies, The Flame Thrower, The Vicious, and a side order Sweet Potato Biscuit. We were hungry and wanted to try a little bit of everything. The biscuits were huge! They were buttery but solid enough to hold up to being a sandwich. But let's face it, you can't pick it up and eat it. It is a definite knife and forker. The Flame Thrower wasn't that spicy but maybe it's not supposed to be. Either way, the flavors were well balanced and I got a bit of everything in each bite. I like that they had a topping bar filled with jams and different kinds of butters. There's nothing wrong with sampling different flavors. Mmm... If you need a refreshing beverage to go with it, get The Southern Sunrise. This place is worth a try if you are in the area. Don't be too worried about the long line, it will move! read more

One of the best places for breakfast in Mt. Pleasant! Don't let the line outside scare you away! It moves fast and worth the wait! We had the gravy biscuit, sausage biscuit, ham and egg, and a make your own chicken! They were all amazing and my 2 picky kids ate every bite of their food! The OJ was fresh and so good! They also have a great selection of homemade jelly. Strawberry was our favorite! read more

I have visited 2x and still come to the same feeling about Vicious Biscuit - it's an acceptable breakfast place in MtP, but it's not top of the charts. More hype than anything. Yes their biscuit is different and while most people like it, I am not a fan. Give me a real flaky Southern biscuit please. Their large, dense, scone like biscuits are actually too big, and they tend to overcook them. Now I have tasted 3 different ones, and will admit the cheddar & jalapeño tasted the best. But overall the size is not user friendly as a biscuit, and the dense dry taste loses me. But I will return to this. Interior design - I do not like the set up. Counter ordering can feel rushed as a new customer, and a returning customer. I get it's not a sit down place, but standing in the middle with other customers going in front & around to get coffee, drinks, and biscuit toppings, is just not fun. Tables were bused slowly as we waited and wondered what table would open up next. In fact we had to ask to get our table cleaned up by staff. The menu - some nice sweet sharable items I would try, but heart of the menu is the biscuit. The 10 different biscuits vary with biscuit type, to different protein. First time I had the Fat Boy with a large chicken breast topped with pimento cheese, and a honey drizzle. HUGE - you really cannot pick it up. The dry biscuit was enhanced by the pimento cheese. Second visit I had the Vicious Biscuit, a jalapeño & cheddar biscuit topped with a chicken breast, the maple gravy, cowboy candy, and maple syrup drizzle. Again, too big to handle as this requires a fork & knife. The taste was good, and with the top of the biscuit aside, I ventured to the toppings bar to try one. The peach topping was very good, but a lot goes a long way. Plus I really wanted to enjoy the jalapeño flavor, no real heat, just a good flavor. Others at my table ordered The Gravy Train & the Old School Breakfast. The Gravy Train is HUGE, could be shared, but that sweet maple gravy overpowers the biscuit; you just can't eat that much sweetness. Then on 2 occasions ordering the Old School breakfast, the potatoes are so precooked, they arrive cold and lack flavor. A side of scrambled eggs also overcooked, dry and flavorless. I sense these items are pre-made and sit under a semi warm light waiting to be served. Service - you get counter service, and a tip option is asked for at end the of your order. But who gets this tip? Yes, there are food runners (not servers), but you can't really tell who is a food runner, who buses tables, who is a supervisor, or who works the front end, etc. Who earns my tip? Vicious Biscuit feeds the breakfast/brunch uniqueness with it's Biscuit, but does not deliver me enough to come back. Long lines (out the door by the time we left), busy self service inside and slow table clearing, are not good enough. The biscuits, sorry but I am not a fan. As a local, I will leave this to the tourist and know there are better options where I will frequent. read more

Amazing! Loved it. The line was long but went relatively quickly and we got to sit outside on a nice day. We ordered the Fat Boy, which is fried chicken on a buttermilk biscuit topped with pimento cheese, drizzled in hot and honey sauce. I added an egg, cooked over easy, and got some jam, honey and maple bourbon honey butter from their toppings bar. There was a bit too much pimento cheese on my biscuit, so I gave some to my hubby. I saved the top biscuit to add some of the jam and sweet toppings for after I finished the biscuit. What a great idea I had; it was delicious, y'all!! Gotta go and try it. Look hard at the menu first, because you'll be panicking wondering if you got the right thing... But rest assured, whatever you get, you'll be over the moon with! Also, the chai latte with almond milk is huge and really good read more

True to it's name V-I-C-I -O-U-S Biscuit!! Even in a 42 degree weather and on a holiday!! People are lining up for these biscuits. We decided to join the crazy. Lol We waited about 15-20 minutes. The line went through pretty quick. Placed our order at counter and found a table. There's an unspoken rule not to linger too long to help accommodate everyone. It was kinda cool to see. Don't fret, you have plenty of time to enjoy your food!! We ordered the Crab Benny, 'Mater, Fat Boy, and the Vicious Shrimp and Grits. They offer a wide spread of jam and butter. My favorite was the maple bourbon butter. If I could eat this every morning with biscuits and not gain any weight, I sure would be in heaven. The biscuits(OMG) were thick and huge!! They had the right amount of sweetness with lots of flavor. This place truly has its own unique flavor that you have to come and taste for yourself. The staff were very friendly and very accommodating. The place is really nice and plenty of parking. We will be stopping by again next time we visit CHARLESTON. read more
The Hangry Marketer visits #viciousbiscuits on a finally rainless, beautiful sunny morning in Charleston, SC! We come upon a hidden gem across Coleman Boulevard with parking available despite it being busy, rapid and effective service, a quick moving line, and a worried look of "if service is this fast, how is the food" on our faces. The reality was exactly the opposite, which is to say this food is hands down top 3 that we've tried in Charleston so far. The amount of effort in the design of their menu alone is stunning, along with the names of their meals. Their "Sweet Puppies" (sweet potato dough balls with white chocolate custard) are a gentle hint of sweet potato and a massive amount of smooth donut hole composition. Clearly baked fresh to our order, we found that the custard was an amazing accent to the dish but nowhere near necessary to enjoy them. I only had 2 of them to make room for "The Ranchero", which is huevos rancheros put on top of two soft and freshly baked biscuits. Their sunny-side up egg was perfect, the "vicious thick-cut bacon" had just the right amount of kick, and the salsa with guac was a cool and refreshing addition without making the biscuit soggy and disgusting. They have instantly become my favorite breakfast place, top 3 favorite restaurants, and we will DEFINITELY be back to explore more of their menu!!! #thehangrymarketer #visitingangelsvisits #lowcountryfoodies #summerville #charleston #northcharleston #mountpleasant #lowcountry #charleston #summerville #southcarolina #sobeautiful #visitingangels #summervillesc #angelsofsummerville #homecare #visitingangelssc @ Vicious Biscuit read more

I got The Mater and my son got the Ranchero ! Both were huge and delicious. He said he might not want anything else after having the Ranchero because it was so good !! I went to the butter and jam bar (which is a great idea by the way!!!!) and got a sample of the sweet potato butter and maple bourbon butter and banana jam and apple pie jam. OMG soooo good! I used the top of my biscuit to sample them. Wise idea because they are huge !! I'm glad this place opened. We needed a new breakfast spot here!! read more

Went to this place for breakfast and even though the line was long, it didn't take too much time to order and get our food. I had the ranchero with breakfast potatoes but the best part was the Vi'mossa. My goodness it was yummy! Vodka, Champaign, fresh oj and cranberry juice. So good! read more

I stopped by the Vicious Biscuit while on vacation. I saw it on social media before we came down here for vacation. We just happened to drive by while looking for our hotel. And let me tell you - it did not disappoint. Service - Order at the counter and get a number. The line was long on a Sunday afternoon, but moved pretty fast. Almost every table was filled up. Food - My mom and I split a sweet potato biscuit and got jams and butters from their jam bar. We also split "The Vicious". This was a cheddar jalapeño biscuit with a breaded chicken breast, gravy, and cowboy candy (aka candied jalapeños), and a drizzle of maple syrup. We also had a mimosa - pretty standard. It was SO good! We wanted to go back the next day. Our flair for adventure led us somewhere else, but I will be dreaming of this place when I return home to Indiana! read more

This place is vicious on your arteries for sure. But damnit, life is short and if you wanna make it shorter but more enjoyable, come here. If you come during brunch, get ready for a packed house and line out the door. The food comes out pretty fast though, and it's not impossible to find a table during the busy hours. It's a revolving door of people coming and going. I tried the shrimp n grits and flamethrower biscuits. Shrimp n grits one was pretty tasty. Hard to screw up that amalgamation of flavors. The flamethrower was really heavy and dense but it was good too. The spicy remoulade wasn't my thing as it was too acidic, but it did help cut through the heavy flavors of the dish. There is a variety of jams and butters. Some really interesting flavors. You could probably just order a bunch of plain biscuits and eat those with the condiments and be satisfied. Really recommend this place. Affordable and tasty. read more

Heads up: VB gets SLAMMED on the weekends. GET OVER IT! We got stuck in line for 20 minutes. We're glad we waited! Biscuits are perfect, doughy, dense, and compliment their style of gravy well. In this day and age of QSRs slowly taking over the world, VB has cracked the code: Counter ordering, one theme, quick turnovers, etc. Service (considering) was great. Four different people asked us about our experience. Yes, we'll be back. read more

I wish I could just post the mouth watering emoji as that is how I felt when 'The Crab Benny' biscuit was placed in front of me. I was definitely 'that girl' taking pictures of my food as it was so beautiful and instantly made my mouth water that I knew I had to share with other! It was massive as well to the point where as soon as I cut into the egg yolk started dripping down over the crab cake and onto the plate. It would have been the perfect opportunity for a slow motion video if I had planned it better. I don't think I can truly even put into words of how truly amazing it was. It was cooked to perfection and everything from the biscuit to the crab cake to the hollandaise sauce and egg was pure heaven. It is without a doubt the best biscuit sandwich I have had here in Charleston and I probably shared the picture with ten people via text as well as on Instagram as I was in such awe of how well this was constructed. The place itself was pretty busy for the mid morning of a Monday, but I was able to comfortable post up at the bar and enjoy this scrumptious southern delicacy! I seriously recommend everyone to run and check it out as soon as possible! They have a large menu of various biscuit sandwiches and other options as well, even a cocktail menu as it would be a solid brunching spot. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did as I will be back, next time with more friends! read more

This was a dope spot! I went here with my co-workers (13 in total) with the line out the door. When I pulled up, I thought for sure I wasn't going to eat for a while. But I was proven wrong by the speedy service to the counter! They have a lot of options, but you have to go for the biscuit dishes. I grabbed The Crab Benny. Crab cakes aren't normally my go-to but I'm glad I tried it! The jumbo lump crab cake, fried green tomato, hollandaise, and sunny-side egg all made a beautiful collision on top of their classic buttermilk biscuit. I was stuffed y'all. But very satisfied! Also, the nice lady at the front opened my basic beverage knowledge.... to the dirty iced vanilla chai latte! I may be late, but this drink is really good y'all! P.S. I ordered the same drink at Starbucks, and the VB version is so much better! Can't wait to come back and try more! read more

Truly the best biscuit I've ever had!! And one of the best meals! Everything is good here (on my vacation I tried four different biscuits). If its your first time, definitely go with the Vicious. Staff was really helpful and super nice. The iced coffee was fresh! Butter and jam bar?? BANANA JAM? never heard of it! So good. I see that the main complaint for this place is the line to order food. I think this goes hand in hand with the amount of parking available - tons of parking, not a lot of space inside (its not cramped). I didnt think the wait was that bad at all, personally, the lines moved pretty fast. Well worth it for a stellar meal. This is a must-stop place if you're in the area, or even traveling around! read more

I loved it here. Came during the lunch hour with my husband and ordered the Ranchero biscuit. I love that they offer meatless options. This isn't your average biscuit. The biscuit is so darn good it needs nothings else. It was buttery, flaky, warm and tasty! I ordered the Crab Benny to go and was a bit bummed that the top of my biscuit was already broken apart. Made it a bit hard to pick it up, even though eventually it would have crumbled on its own. That being said, I had to eat it with a fork and knife. I do think the Crab Cake needs more seasoning, but the eggs were fluffy and delish. My green tomato was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Oh and my coffee was ok. Definitely would try again. read more
