Surprisingly good. Classic biscuit was 8/10 and they have a whole mini topping bar of butters, whips, and jellies for the biscuits. For a healthy option, the Keto Bowl was a 8.5/10...not sure if the spinach was organic (a dirty dozen vegetable). Great value though. Manager Tip: Route the servers carrying food for outdoor tables through the side doors when the line is busy.
Biscuits are always delicious! I stopped by for a morning pick me up and ordered the fat boy. It is one of my favorites on the menu. The biscuit was so butter and delicious and the fried chicken was amazing and the pimento cheese in this definitely the cherry on top!
This was my 4th visit to viscous biscuit while on vacation here they are EPIC. I've tried a few different kinds now and my favorite by far is the vicious biscuit with the fried chicken on a jalapeno cheddar biscuit with candied jalapeños and sausage biscuits and gravy sauce. It's EPIC!!! I'm sure I will be back again before my vacation is over with my big back!!
Viscous bisquit has a cool logo that I coined the term #CyberChef for because I work in cyber security and we use an application called CyberChef. The food is amazing and the staff is very friendly. The are many options for gluten intolerance and celiac. It is a good way food a cyber security analyst to start the morning. Vicious is consistently amazing!
Food - 5 stars! Service - 5 stars! Ambiance - 5 stars! First visit. We walked in and there was decent line but moved quickly. The kid at the counter was very nice and helpful. You place your order at the counter get your number, coffee cup for drip coffee, utensils, etc. Go make your coffee, soda or whatever (foo foo coffee, fresh squeezed OJ delivered to your table) and have a seat. Food came out fairly quickly for a busy morning and while eating a young lady stopped by to see if we needed anything else. The food is the ! Biscuits are so fresh and you have so many varieties of biscuit sandwich options. They have some lighter fare options along with GF. The coolest thing is the Jam & Butter bar...all kinds of compound butters and jams to try. Will definitely try them again if we are back in the area!!
Customer service is awesome!! Didn't get her name but I loved her patience and care when I placed my order. Many ways to have a biscuit. Various options besides bacon and sausage. I'm having a build your own breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice delicious!! Grits are absolutely creamy and flavorful. The pimento cheese add a great addition to the grits. Yum! A well oiled machine. Packed but moves quickly. Some of the most affordable food around! They have a little self serve bar full of various butters and jams. So cute! Seemed like a lot of kids working there and boy were they on top of things and super friendly! Obviously well managed. The sweet puppies are the most decadent sweet potato fritters! Generous portions.
I'll start by saying I'm giving a four because I do feel like things could've been a tad bit better in areas. We arrived for a late breakfast and it was quite crowded, but we easily found parking stood in line for a few minutes. Looking at the menu. When we got to the counter, the young lady was very helpful in explaining the different biscuits and things available and also offered up opinions on the things we were looking for. We didn't get any of the coffees or juices, but we had the vicious biscuit. We did order the beignets to share. One of the kids had pancakes and bacon and I had a simple chicken biscuit with cowboy candy, which is basically sugared cooked down jalapeños. I feel like there could've been more cowboy candy on the biscuit cause it's quite large and there wasn't much to the cowboy candy. The biscuit is going to be either you like it or it's not your type of biscuit. I will say that, even though as thick as it was, it did not have a doughy thick center that I was expecting. The ambience in the restaurant is cute. You sit down with the number they bring your food out they have a flavored butter bar and a flavored jam jelly area there with it. Our food came out fresh and hot. My granddaughter wasn't a huge fan of the maple sausage gravy biscuit, I will add when I cut it up for her. The bottom was extremely hard. I had considered having it remade. My friend got the vicious biscuit and she said she would've liked to gotten more gravy maybe on the side. The beignets were fabulous with the strawberries and whipped cream. She wasn't a huge fan of what was supposed to be scrambled eggs with cheese. All in all we would revisit and we were happy to be able to experience it while in the area.
We visited Vicious Biscuit on our most recent trip to Charleston, SC. I was really looking forward to trying out the famous Southern-style biscuits. The first spot we landed on was Vicious Biscuit. I was surprised by how large the biscuits were. They were sturdy enough to hold the different types of jams and butter we put on them. Every bite of the biscuit had a nice balance of crunchy and savory. Their house-made jams and butter were the ideal complement to the biscuits. I would definitely come here again if I visited Charleston in the future.
For a chain biscuit joint, this place is pretty good!! You order at the counter and then they bring it to your table. They have a honey/butter spread bar which is super fun and you'll find some really choices there. The biscuits are done very well and so were the potatoes, I'd order again! The sweet tea was bad, unsure if the tank needed cleaned or if it was just the taste of it here.
If you're looking for a breakfast joint... look no further! Was browsing through different restaurants to try and decided on Viscious Biscuit due to proximity to the beach we were headed to but so thankful we came here! It was very casual and you order at the register, get a number, grab your utensils, and they bring your food out when its ready. They had outdoor seating, which was great since we had the dog with us. The menu was a bit overwhelming only because there are too many things I wanted to try. However I got the traditional breakfast mainly because I couldn't decide and I wanted to try all the butter and jams at the bar. I really loved the bourbon maple butter and the peach habenero jam...a lot of people seemed to like the blueberry ghost pepper jam because that was almost always empty. Biscuit was great...golden and crunchy on outside but soft on the inside. Bacon and eggs were very good. Potatoes were seasoned well and crispy on the outside. I got the cafe macchiato and thought it had strong coffee flavor but balanced well with sweetness. Husband got the Hen solo and he really enjoyed it...it was a lot of food! My absolute favorite part of the meal is the fresh squeezed orange juice. They have a machine that squeezes oranges and it tastes just like the one I got every morning at the resort when we were in the Bahamas. Highly recommended but go early because they get really busy...even for a weekday!
Such a stellar gluten free biscuit! They actually have a whole gluten free menu that is great. Kids menu has better than average choices sure to please little gourmands. Juicy chicken, yummy gravy, creamy grits, and fresh orange juice. Great delivery option as it travels well. Also cute counter order table spot. Great to recommend to your visitors too for a taste of the south that doesn't break the bank.

We ran by this place during the copper river bridge run, so had to come back the next day to try it. This place was very good and worth the wait. There was a line out the door and almost all the way to the street since we got there and even an hour later when we drove by. I got the fat boy and it was very good with the pimento cheese on the chicken biscuit. The chicken and biscuit were hot while the pimento cheese was cold. The biscuit was also very good just on its own. They also have a lot of butters and jams you can put on your biscuit. Definitely check this place out next time you are in Charleston. read more

This was our first time in SC and we came across this brunch place and let me tell ya don't miss it up if you are in SC. If you love biscuits, check this place out! It was delicious. First off, the biscuits themselves are very good and buttery. You'd be happy getting plain biscuits and adding butter at the butter bar. The fat boy was really good. The chicken was fried to perfection and seasoned well. I don't like pimento that much so I scraped a good portion off for my side but I left some for the creaminess and flavor. Yummy biscuits, with a toppings bar that includes things like sweet potato butter, maple bourbon butter, apple pie jam, strawberry jam, etc. We ordered the biscuits and gravy, which were so comforting and flavorful and delicious. We also ordered the Hen Solo, which is just a biscuit with a piece of fried chicken. This lacked flavor and moisturize on its own, but was so much better with the gravy from our other dish. We had considered getting something like the Vicious or the Fat Boy, but decided not to because we thought there would be too much going on. Came here with 2 friends on a Saturday for brunch - bit of a line at 11:30 but it wasn't too bad. We each got the crab Benny, the Vicious, and the Fat Boy to share. I thought the Vicious was definitely the best. The spice of the jalapeños and the sweetness of the maple drizzle went well excellently together. Don't forget to try to various house made butters they offer as well! The sweet puppies tasted and had a somewhat similar texture to donuts - they were great. Definitely left feeling a bit heavy but a nice treat to have once in a while. read more
This is my second time coming to Viscious Biscuit but this time with visitors out of town. And all three people LOVED the biscuits they got. They were very satisfied with the portions and the flavor, and they really appreciated the variety of jams and butter next to the drink dispenser. The only problem I had is the smell of the trash can when getting cups of jams and butter because that is also next to the drink dispenser. The Ranchero: Very filling and has no meat in it (great for vegetarians). Everything in the Ranchero tasted great together, as well as the fried avocado. Yaaaaaaaas!!!!! A friend of mine who was raised in the Mount Peasant area recommended this venue for breakfast. Never have I ever been so grateful for a biscuit restaurant recommendation. I mean Daaaaaang, this food is GOOD peeps! My friend and I were at a loss because everything looked or sounded scrumptious with the exception of pimento cheese... nope, you can keep that! Lol In the end, we decided to share two dishes: the Vicious and the Vicious Shrimp and Grits Biscuit. The latter is Life! I mean you don't want this entrée to end! The Vicious was a jalapeño cheddar biscuit with crispy fried chicken breast, their signature maple sausage gravy, house cowboy candy (jalapeños), and maple syrup drizzled on top. My friend had the fresh squeezed orange juice and I opted for black cold brew. Both beverages were great and I highly recommend the shrimp and grits biscuit! read more
Sometimes the name and/ or pics just speak for themselves and that is most definitely the case with Viscous Biscuit! Let's face it, we're in the south and most places have really good biscuits. It's pretty much a standard here. But these biscuits... Once again, these biscuits are the most insanely, over the top, creative, ridiculously filling, and satisfying biscuits that I've ever had. In my opinion Visious Biscuit takes the trophy for guilty pleasure. Funny part is, if you dine in, look at people's faces when their food arrives. Most people are shocked by the size/ presentation and then it's followed by "I shouldn't do this" and then a little bit later, "this was the best thing ever!" To add to that, they also have a full bar and everything on the menu is very reasonably priced. If you're bold enough to take on one of these monstrosities, keep in mind it is quite normal for the line to be out the door. But I must say it's deceiving, as it usually moves very quick. Also, if you wanna dine in, getting a table can be tricky. Long lines an no waiter service will make anyone want to cage fight to the death for a table. But luckily, I haven't come to that point yet. Lastly, Visious Biscuit is right next door to Bikers for Trump, so if you're not a Trump supporter, you can at least take pleasure in knowing that Viscous Biscuit has made it clear that they are not affiliated with them in any kind of way. read more

I really enjoyed this place. I was back to visit family in South Carolina and this place was down the street from the beach house we were staying in. My uncle was too old to make the drive so I picked up a huge order to go. First off. As you can see from the pictures... there is usually a line. It was literally out the door. I got lucky and caught it at door length so I didn't have to wait outside. The line moved fairly fast, and then I saw this menu. We tried several things here, ranging from biscuits and gravy, the Vicious biscuit, and the shrimp and grits biscuit (thats what I had) When you order to go they keep everything separate so it doesn't get soggy on the drive back. I will say that in looking at the food I wish we could have eaten there. The shrimp and grits were some of the best I have ever had, and the biscuit was amazing. Fluffy, crispy outside and flaky warm inside. I also got to try their homemade jams. I especially like the two spicy jellies. I will come back to this place next time I'm near Charleston! Vicious biscuit is by far my favorite part of my trip to Charleston/Mt Pleasant. They have a huge selection of different kinds of biscuits. I went with the flamethrower, which was a great mix of spicy yet savory. I also did the mimosa carafe which was a perfect size to split for 2 if you are wanting several mimosas. Be advised that this place gets busy and sometimes the line to wait is out the door. Luckily that didn't happen when I went on a Friday morning and we didn't have to wait too long for a seat. As with the last time I came here, the staff were all so friendly, energetic, and polite. I truly want to know how the manager has acquired and kept such happy staff. This time I ordered an off menu item- a plain old bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. It was delicious! It was also giant. And a bit expensive if you ask me given it's quite a simple sandwich. Nevertheless, a thoroughly satisfying breakfast! The biscuits are so fresh and moist. I got several to go! And I love the bourbon butter you can get at the condiment bar. Amazing!!! Staff was so friendly. The food was the best we had our entire trip. The orange juice was the best I've had in years. We took time to compliment the manager and he was so appreciative. We searched more locations and are so happy there is one about 30 minutes from our home. My Benedict had a huge crab cake and a fried green tomato. The reviews don't lie! This place deserves all 5 stars!! The orange juice was fresh and delicious. Only thing that would have made it better is if it were cold instead of room temperature. Our oldest son got the fat boy, which, after he tried the three biscuits we ordered, he declared to be his favorite. My husband and I also had a bite and agreed it was great, but not our favorite of the three. I had the vicious biscuit and this was by far my favorite. It had a bit of heat, but paired with the gravy, I loved it! My husband had the flame thrower and yes, he decided this was his favorite. I liked it, but it packed a bit more heat than this lightweight could handle to eat an entire biscuit. Our youngest son, 12, got the munchkin platter and at $7 plus an extra $0.50 to upgrade to the pumpkin biscuit, it was well worth the money. Much more than we expected to get from a "kids" meal. He loved the bacon, biscuit, and potatoes! The candied bacon on the flame thrower is also by far the best bacon I've had in my life. So thankful we happened to drive by this place the day before and picked to have our breakfast here over any other local place. You must stop here! read more
There are many days where I have drove by Vicious Biscuit and the line is to the street. My husband and I have wanted to try this place for a long time and when we finally had the opportunity to we checked it out for lunch. We visited midweek around 2pm and the service was fast as the lunch rush was over. We ordered and sat outside. Our drinks were out in about five minutes and our actual meals came right after. Very quick! The Vicious was amazing. So much flavor and a winning combination. The Bird and Belgian was plated beautifully and the sweet potato waffle had a nice flavor to it that paired with the chicken. We loved everything! We now understand the line to the road. Just the name of this restaurant had me dreaming of biscuits for a few days before we were actually able to make it in. Once we arrived, there was a long line, but it moved fast. The menu offers lots of different biscuit options from $3 - $16 depending on how wild you want to get. I went with "The Vicious" which is a cheddar & jalapeño biscuit, crispy fried chicken breast, maple sausage gravy, house cowboy candy, and a maple syrup drizzle. It was very delicious, but I probably should not have gone so sweet. Some other things that I tasted included the grits (creamy and amazing), bacon (high quality, but again too sweet), and the sweet puppies (big and definitely more like hush puppies than donuts if wondering..decent). The jam bar was nice...not as good as a Biscuithead, which the whole restaurant seemed to imitate, but always love a jam bar. The staff was friendly. Overall, everything was executed very well and I enjoyed breakfast, but not mind blowing. Still very good though. read more

Wow!! That is all you need to know... Wow!!! The food is amazing. Don't be swayed by the line. It moves quick, but there is a chance your food will be ready before a table opens.. but "Roll the Dice".. I have the Vicious Benny, wife had the Shrimp/grits Biscuit. Just amazing.. the only thing.. one egg was about 30sec past which made the yolk less runny... that's it.. only thing I can come up with... great food, great service. Lots of parking.. Go!! So yes, this place is notorious for the crazy long line but let me tell you IT IS WORTH IT. First off, I am gluten free so finding gluten free biscuits is not an extremely common thing but once I found out that this biscuit was celiac safe- I had to try it. I got a GF biscuit with bacon on the side. Along with an iced vanilla coffee & freshly squeezed orange juice. My husband, who has a normal diet, ate the vicious biscuit. We both LOVED our meals so much here that we ended up going the next morning as well. The blackberry jam on the biscuit was delicious and the orange juice had to be some of the best OJ I have ever personally had. And as a sensitive celiac, I did not get sick whatsoever. They truly care about cross contamination and quality control. We will return here every time we get back to Charleston! read more
In town at a baseball tour and decided to try this for breakfast. We arrived around 8:11 and the line was to the door. It doesn't take long to place your order once in the door. Casual atmosphere. We ordered the biscuits and gravy, keto bowl and old fashioned. We had to wait 20 mins for our food to be brought to us which wasn't bad considering how busy they were. All of the dishes had a good flavor. The most annoying thing was all condiments were self serve. We sat outside and since I had ordered coffee I had to walk back in with my cup of coffee to get creme and sugar. The place is clean and all the employees were very polite. This place was delicious! The biscuits were exceptional. We went on a Sunday morning and it was packed but they mauve people quickly. It's the kind of place that you order at the register, pay then take your number to a table where they bring you the food. We ordered the old school, the gravy train, sweet potato puffs, two coffees, orange juice, and a mimosa. The bill was $53 without tip. read more
