They specialize in Detroit Style Square Pizza but also offer bar style pizza which is thin. I've enjoyed both styles from them. Staff is always friendly. I haven't had any issues finding parking in their parking lot but I can imagine that it may be hectic during busy eating hours since it is shared with other restaurants and businesses. They have a monthly special which I always enjoyed trying. You can also download their app and track your points and may even have a coupon reward. My friends and I always have a great meal at Via 313. Highly recommend trying it.

New location for me but same fabulous service and great food! The buffalo chicken pizza was amazing! Just the right amount of spice. Cheese bread was hot and gooey. Quiet restaurant for a weekend and good place to enjoy pizza and a game at the bar!

I've been to early location in Texas, Austin, San Antonio and houston. I've also been to blue pan in Denver. It's safe to say that I love their food and support them at every location that I can! With all that being said, I visited their newest location in Houston and it's top notch just like all of the others! Grace is an absolute professional and is doing a great job at this location. Very nice and personable! Food: the pizza is simply amazing. In a fan of their Detroit style. Also their desserts are top notch. If you haven't been to this location I suggest you stop in. Great pizza. Great customer service. From a loyal fan! Via313 is the best!

Did a half and half of the omnivore and the detroiter. Yeah I believe it's an acquired taste, but detroit style pizza may not be for me. Had a thick layer of dough/ bread and cheese. It felt spongey, not really a crisp to it. The cheese and sauce was ok, wasn't really pack with flavor. But the omnivore was definitely better than the detroiter.

This was our first time trying Detroit style pizza and I would say it's definitely an acquired taste. We opted for The Detroiter..Customer service was mediocre granted the young lady was new we weren't explained much or suggested anything.. So based upon the pizza the crust was very light and good, the large size of the pizza definitely was enough. However me personally am not a fan with the sauce on the top. They do have a full bar and its a little quaint place in the Montrose area. If your into Detroit style pizza give them a try.

I had a very pleasant experience at Via 313 with my son. We were greeted by the staff and they were very friendly from beginning to end. They have options for both Detroit style pizza (thicker crust) and bar style crust (thin and crispy). My son was adamant about thin crust cheese, and we were recommended to split the pizza with different toppings (awesome ). They have a good beer selection too if you're into that like I am. They also have lots of seating options: private for kids, bar area, or a nice outside patio. Looking forward to trying more toppings! Will definitely go back! Note: they have good happy hour and lunch specials!

Pizza was great. Nice buttery and airy crust loaded with cheese and you could taste the freshness of the toppings. Customer service was ok.. because we got a new waitress but she did good. Only thing that kept me from giving them a 5 is the employee sleeping in one of the booths..Not a good look

Got a tip that this place has a good GF crust so I called in (at a different location) and got a good feeling as a result. We're still on the hunt for a local pizza place for my 3 year old who has multiple food allergies... and he only likes pizza from one place in San Antonio. His requirements: to look and taste like regular pizza. For reference: he's allergic to wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, avocado, pineapple, and kiwi. On top of that, as a family, we're allium free vegetarians. So I went with a friend and the kid in question for lunch on a Friday. To my knowledge, I believe there are 3 locations in the Houston area and this one is in the Heights across from Flower Child. There are a few parking spots right at the front but there's ample parking spaces on the lot when you drive further in. There were a few occupied tables but not very busy - I'm under the impression they may have recently opened - and the guy behind the bar took care of all the tables. They specialize in Detroit style pizza (think deep dish and square) and bar style pizza (think thin and round). Everything is made to order. They have GF options, note what is vegetarian, and offer vegan cheese. In fact, they sort of boast how they can cater to various diets on the menu. They also serve alcohol, ice cream (contains eggs, milk), and have appetizers and salads. During lunch, there's a lunch special for either 1 slice for $5 OR 2 slices plus a salad and fountain drink for $12. I opted to get a large (4 slice) portion of pizza so I could bring home extras for the family. I went through the food allergies again just to make sure since I hadn't called this location. The GM came out to assist. Guess what? Yes, they do have a GF crust option only for their Detroit style pizza, BUT it's made from gluten free WHEAT flour. Think lactose free cow milk, but this is wheat flour where they removed the gluten. So this is good for those with celiac or a gluten sensitivity, but not for someone with a WHEAT allergy. We weren't keen on experimenting in an uncontrolled environment, so he didn't get to try any pizza. However, they were very helpful and... we asked if they could do melted cheese with spinach on top for him since we were already there. He did manage to finish almost half before it started coagulating, so that was something! I ordered the Herbivore. For those who avoid alliums: the sauce they use for the Detroit-style pizza is allium free. I only ordered it without onions and it was perfect. Not too greasy or very salty with a pillowy crust and crispy edges. It's refreshing to not have to change menu items too much. On the other hand, the sauce for the bar style does contain alliums. Since I love sauce, I stuck with the Detroit. My omnivorous friend got The Cadillac (she originally wanted a mushroom lovers version, but there is none here) and she liked it well enough, but she's on the fence on whether or not it was worth the price. Her favorite part was the fig reduction but wished there was some tomato sauce on there. Or perhaps she wanted more of a heavier drizzle. Overall, everyone was very helpful and apologetic that they didn't have something on the menu for my kid when we went specifically for him. The bartender (?) kept on suggesting meat options even after I mentioned I was a vegetarian, and my kid was as well by default (was never tested for allergens to food we don't eat), which I thought odd but also amusing. Decor reminded me of MOD Pizza but car/workshop-themed and was clean. A good place to go to with options for the rest of us... but not the kid. Glad to have tried out this place, though! Still on the look out for a pizza place in the city for the kid.

There seems to be an abundance of pizza places in the Heights, but one thing sets this place apart - It's Detroit style by way of Austin. I've had a Detroit style pizza before from another spot in Houston. I enjoyed it, but wasn't super wowed by it. I was excited to try 313 though because they specialize in this specific style of pizza. The restaurant has a big spot that is shared by other businesses in the strip. We came on a weekend and didn't have problems parking. As we walked in I noticed a bar area with TV's which is cool, but they do have plenty of regular seating. Our server was cool enough to explain Detroit style pizza and that they have bar style pizzas available too. We got the roasted artichoke appetizer which was basically a marinara dip with artichokes - I thought that was ok. For pizza we all shared a Detroiter. I liked the simplicity of the pizza, and i actually like the thick chewy crust and the toasty edges. Overall good pizza! One complaint I have was that the light they have at the booth was super bright. Luckily there was a switch and we turned it off. A staff member saw us and said they are changing it soon because of the complaints. If you like Detroit style pizza, or just curious and wanna try def check this place out!

Via was one of my favorite pizza places in Austin and I'm so happy the restaurant has expanded to now a couple of locations in Houston. They specialize in Detroit pizza. And in David Portnoy's words: Detroit pizza is like an offensive lineman- looks heavy but light on the feet. We got caesar salad and brussel sprouts to start the night. The caesar was delicious with unique parmesan crisps and a light anchovy taste that I really enjoyed. The brussels were all right. We mainly just got it for vibes, but they aren't the crispy kind I normally enjoy, so I'll probably skip that next time. For pizzas, we got the ambassador bridge, bobo brazil, and the cadillac. All perfect and you cannot go wrong with either. Personally, I am a corner girl- they do the cheese crust so crispy and yummy here. If you have never tried detroit pizza, via 313 is a great place to try your first slice! I will say, food does take a while, so come if you have time to spare or are with friends! They have some beer options for $3.13!

Visited Houston, Texas for couple days and was running late for dinner one night. Found this place driving in the area and was extremely shocked on the Sicilian type pizza!! For Texas this was very good pizza, not saying NY type but the square was phenomenal in texture and taste. Definitely a wait to order a small pie, same time if you order it on the app but you get $10 off so no brained. Stand there and order through the app, the service not great. This was take out for me so the 4 stars is on quality of food. The Caesar salad was good too!!

When my friend made the reservation, she received an email encouraging customers to visit the tasting room before or after dinner. We showed up an hour early to visit the tasting room, however the host had no idea what we were talking about. Turns out they weren't doing tastings. Luckily, we didn't have to wait to be seated. We initially had a table that was not near a heat lamp, however an employee came over and let us know that we could switch to a table near the heat lamp which was appreciated because it was chilly. Our server was Laura. She was nice and funny. They had $25 flight specials. I went with the Sayanara Flight which had white wines. I really enjoyed them and they weren't too sweet. My friend had an NA wine which she enjoyed. We ordered the Truffle Fries and Meatballs. Both dishes were tasty. I enjoyed the aioli that came with the fries. They had discounted wines for purchase. Not all bottles were 50% off, however the gentleman that we spoke to went ahead and gave me a 50% discount on both the rosé and pinot grigio that I purchased which was so appreciated! It seems like there are quite a few businesses around town that are closing. I'm sad to see Mutiny go, but I'm glad my friend and I got to dine in on their final night.

"Closing time, you don't have to go home But you can't stay…read morehere." - Semisonic I have lived in the loop for 5 years now, and I'm sad to say that I finally tried Mutiny on their last day. I often pass by it going through a shortcut to I-45 and sometimes going home around the area. It's literally a 5-minute drive. I booked reservations Friday since I saw they opened up the 31st on Resy. It wasn't earlier in the week, but I knew it was the last day, and my friend and I really wanted to try. I'm glad we made reservations because they were at capacity (150 person capacity) and weren't taking any walk ins. We got there early cause Resy suggested checking out the Tasting Room before or after the reservation time. We got there about an hour earlier, and the host said he didn't know anything about that except that the Tasting Room area was used for events. Interesting. We were seated earlier on the patio on this freezing evening. At first, we were at a table that didn't have a heat lamp, but when one freed up, they were so nice to suggest that we move closer to the heat lamp since they saw us shivering. Lol. We were thankful for that. I wore fleece lined jeans and brought gloves and a beanie anyway having been in the below freezing winter in London. Laura was our server and was kind and funny. So was this other guy who checked in every now and then. He made light of their last day situation. The dining area is so beautiful inside. I love the limestone-looking interior and chandeliers. Reminds me of Fredericksburg or something. They had many large groups and a few small groups of friends or couples dining on this last day. Way to go out with a bang. A lot of the wines were selling out or already sold out around 7-8 pm. We tried the truffle fries and Sicilian meatballs with focaccia bread. I like the thick cut of the fries and the black garlic aioli. It reminded me of yuca fries. The Sicilian meatballs were a bit small, peppery and salty. I wish the marinara was a little more tart. The focaccia helped cut through the saltiness. I had 2 glasses of the NA Sauvignon blanc which was light and a little tart. They ran out of the NA red blend. My friend ordered Sayonara, one of their farewell flights which were aptly named for "goodbye". It was a great night on the patio but chilly. My friend purchased a rosé and a Pinot Grigio as part of their Last Sail wines. Actually, the Pinot Grigio wasn't part of the sale, and he was going to take off 20%, but he also made it 50% off. So nice!! I'm glad we got to try them on their last day. Bon voyage, Mutiny.

The bread was very buttery and nicely toasted. The frank itself was very juicy and I loved how the pico and mustard help cut through the fat. The thing that made this hotdog stand out was the cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was delicious and I could probably have just eaten that alone. The décor, wine list, menu, comfortable seating, and cozy atmosphere make it such a special spot. They offer wines for every taste and budget, and the staff is knowledgeable when asked for recommendations. That's why this is difficult for me to write. Despite visiting frequently, I've consistently found the customer service to be unwelcoming. The service has a strange tone, and it isn't limited to one employee they all seem to share the same indifferent, slightly annoyed demeanor. The experience feels less like genuine hospitality and more like, "You're here what can I get you?" On my most recent visit, others in my group noticed and commented on the same thing without any prompting from me. Since they had never been before, it confirmed that it wasn't just my perception. One small interaction captured the overall tone. We asked whether they happened to have a birthday candle, and an employee responded in an annoyed tone by pointing to the candle on our table which, realistically, no one would put on a birthday dessert. We completely understood that they might not have one; it wasn't an unreasonable expectation or request. A simple, friendly response like, "Unfortunately, we don't, but we do have some delicious desserts," would have been perfectly fine. It wasn't the answer that bothered us. it was the way we were made to feel for asking. It may seem like a small interaction, but great hospitality is built on small moments. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and inviting, but unfortunately, the service doesn't reflect that same feeling. People return to places where they feel welcomed and appreciated, especially in a city like Houston with so many wonderful food and wine options. I genuinely want The Library to thrive because it has everything else it needs to remain a true neighborhood favorite.

It's located right at 19th St. and Shepherd near the light. There's a small angled parking lot that can be tight when people park along the fence. It looks like a cute tiny A-frame home with a few patio tables in the front. The inner area has about 6-7 high tables. It's nice and clean inside. The vibe feels similar to H-Town Brewing Co. but on a smaller scale. You can also sit at the bar. I didn't really like the high tables/chairs. They're not as comfortable. It was hot out, and there are mosquitos, so we sat inside. I ordered the salmon plate for steak night. The drinks here are ok, and since I don't really drink, I was looking for mocktail options. In this era, most places have mocktail options with brand alternatives like Ritual, Seedlip and Lyre's or at the least, something with juice, Topo Chico and simple syrup. The female bartender made me a NA margarita which was great. I liked that she didn't make it too sweet or too tart which happens with mocktails that don't have alternatives and are mostly juice or lemon. On the other hand, when I ordered a second, the guy bartender made it too sweet. I didn't like his version. For the alcoholic versions, they seem to have good cocktails, wine, beer and flights. I told her they need to update this information online because it says they're dog friendly. She said only the patio is dog friendly. I said this needs to be specified especially since you have to go inside to order and order at the bar. She rolled her eyes turned around and didn't respond to me. That being said, both times I've come here here I've gotten the seasonal pandana latte and it's been very good. I would like do come back and try the food but I'm not going to support a place that doesn't have accurate information online and has rude staff when you try to help them correct it.

We enjoyed a glass or two of wine, tossed some darts, and soaked in the relaxed, unpretentious vibe. It is casual in the right way. Easy to talk, easy to stay, and not trying too hard to be anything other than a solid local bar. The real highlight, though, is Posty the bar cat. An adorable black and white cat who clearly runs the place. Getting to know Posty outside was an unexpected and genuinely charming moment that made the stop memorable. If you are a cat person, this alone will win you over. Even if you are not, it is hard not to smile. Great drinks, darts, friendly energy, and a bar cat that steals the show. Post Beer & Wine is exactly the kind of place you hope to find when hopping around Houston, and absolutely worth a stop even if you are not on a crawl.

For appetizers, I had the Drunken Garlic Bread, and I honestly don't know exactly what was on it, but it was SO good. Lots of cheese, garlic, and just overall deliciousness. We got a few different appetizers for the table, and everything we tried was great. For my entree, I got the Italian Drunken Dip Sandwich. It was WAY smaller than I expected. It was good, but compared to the appetizers, it wasn't anything mind-blowing. The menu said it would come on the drunken bread, similar to the appetizer, but the bread on my sandwich was much harder. Not sure if they ran out of the actual drunken bread or if that's how it's supposed to be, but it was a little disappointing. Overall, I really enjoyed the appetizers and the atmosphere, and I'd definitely come back for more of a happy hour vibe.

Everyone I've been with lately has enjoyed their food there. Didn't get the server we wanted due to availability for our party's size and the one we got was a bit lifeless and only asked two people at the table if they wanted a drink then took off so I was a bit miffed at having to wait until their drink was delivered so I could request a glass of wine but other than that service was good. The setting is great and it works for couples, families and large groups and they have a great back patio which is nice when weather is nice.
