A great new park best for a little older kids. This park has a beautiful outside space (with signs indicating that shade covers were coming soon). It says there's a walking path, but honestly a walking path implies something more to me, while the path itself is just a sidewalk around the play area. The play structures themselves are really interesting and not ones I've seen before. There's structures to spin, climb, and swing. I will say, the giant spinning structure was a little difficult to spin. I'm not sure how little kids are able to do it independently as when I went with younger family members, a couple adults had to put in some effort to spin it for them. While the floor in the play area is the bouncy/softer type, I think some of the climbing structures are pretty high up for smaller kids to the point where a fall can cause an injury. My only other concern was the double slide / rock climbing area. When walking straight in to the entrance of the play area, there is a sudden steep drop where there are two slides and some climbing structures. If you're not paying attention and try to just walk in the clear area next to the slide you will fall off. There is zero indication that there's a steep drop (steep in the sense that if you didn't look and took a step, you'd fall). I think some indication should be added there. The swings are saucer-type swings and pretty fun! (All play area equipment was adult tested and approved! So feel free to try them out if you're there during a slow time ;) ) Probably the biggest attraction here is the zip line swing. This is another thing that my littler family members struggled on their own to do and needed adult help. To get the swing up to the jumping point, it's very heavy and the ramp is a little steep. It took some effort to pull it up. I will say though, it is very fun! You launch and then pretty quickly at the start and you're just on the swing with no belt, so make sure your kid is able to hold on well. Otherwise it's super fun and adult approved too! As for seating, there are benches scattered throughout. I only saw one (wheelchair-accessible) table under a small pavilion. Lastly, the bathrooms are pretty nice, clean, and well-kept. The women's bathroom had 3 stalls and 1 sink. Overall a nice park! Do be advised if you come during a potentially busy time, there is not that much parking.

Our next family adventure with the kids take us to Veterans Park located in Sunrise Florida with a rating of 4.5 and more than 42 reviews, this park recently remodeled, it offers an unforgettable experience for the little ones in the family. From a small climb where you can climb or put your physical skills into action, or jump on the zip line that makes your adrenaline activate and other activities that this park offers. I want to say thanks and great job to the city of Sunrise for this incredible projects they do for the good of children and their physical activity.

We decided to go tot Veterans Park even though the weather forecast said it would rain all day. I am so glad that we did. The rain stopped when we got there. We saw beautiful monuments honoring veterans. The playground looks like something out of a futuristic movie! There was a large circular spinning platform that had additional spinning objects on it. It reminded me of a merry go round. There is also a swing ride that glides down a track and through the air ( it may caller a sky coaster). The surfaces are rubber and safe! There are wide disc shaped shaped. I believe that this playground is suitable for children with varying abilities because a child that uses a wheelchair or crutches can easily swing or spin on the playground equipment.

    My son at the top.

Amazing park, many fun things to do for all ages, went there with my kids. But something that bugged my son was that the zip line was closed. He really wanted to go on it. We have no problem coming back here though.

OMG! Can't believe this place. It's way more than just a large park as it's a destination worth a…read moredrive. It's in Broward County just off University Drive and it's free. So glad some friends told us about this place awhile back when we were talking about places to take the grandkids in the future. But even if you're just a kid at heart, You may want to visit here. Wear your bathing suit. It's easy to find. And there's ample free parking out front. Mid week when we stopped by it wasn't very busy. But if I had kids, I'd be here every weekend -- especially in our recent hot weather. First and foremost is the interactive water/splash pad. So many machines spraying water, buckets dumping, etc etc. The three kids there were squealing with joy and excitement. Such fun. There's also a story walk/trail for children with various stops plus a regular walking trail. A covered playground with equipment for kids. A Volleyball sand court; basketball court; grills; picnic areas... all with a large swath of green grass in the middle -- perfect for events/concerts. On the south end is the canal C-14 with a fishing pier. More "waters edge" as in the name. And also for adults, there's a covered area right near the water with all sorts of gym/exercise equipment. Don't know what more you could want except maybe a few more resting benches along the main trail for the older folks... Go check it out. Bring the kids.

Featured at the entrance are children's water fountains and refreshing jets of water! Fitness equipment, a short fishing pier, picnic grills and other amenities abound in this beautiful and well maintained park.
