Welleby Park is hands down the best park and dog‑park combo I've ever visited. The staff keeps the entire area incredibly clean, and there are two huge fenced-in sections for different-sized dogs. There's also a beautiful trail that wraps around the park with water views and plenty of benches, plus a wide path just outside the park that stretches for miles. It's truly an amazing place to take your dog and enjoy the outdoors. read more

I can't believe this place is free! What a gem. The miniature city is a must visit! A lot of the kids were riding bikes and scooters around when we visited. There are no shaded areas so plan to visit early in the morning or later in the afternoon. However, if you end up here right in the middle of the day, don't worry! Your kids will be excited to cool down at the adjacent water park- also free! In between the city and water park there is a nice mostly shaded playground. This was such a fun place to visit! There is a big mall within a 10 min drive so you can make this a day trip! read more

You can spend the entire day at this park tiring your kids out. Not only is the playground large, but there is a splash pad, & mini town which the kids love. There are pavilions to rent & a walking path with a lake. Parking can get tricky because this park fills up quickly on the weekend. I highly recommend this park & can't wait to return. read more

This dog park is located within the large Welleby Park in Sunrise. The park is open everyday with the exception of Wednesday mornings before 1pm. There are two sides for small and large dogs. Both have a Pavillion sitting area and dog washing station to clean them after a rambunctious playtime. Parking is located on both sides of the dog park. The fenced in area is nice because it it wide open but there is a wides sidewalk path to walk while the dogs play. I also liked that the water fountain for dogs drained very quickly to deter animals from passing germs from one dog to another. read more

Such a cute park and very well-maintained. There's a splash pad, safe road play, and a few playgrounds for different abilities The play spaces are so great and well-maintained Our child had so much fun watching other children ride their bikes and scooter. I think it inspired him to start using his bike a little bit as well. Today was pretty busy as it's Easter Sunday. There's not coverage from the sun, this would be nice with Summer coming up. Heavy emphasis on kiddie park activities in this public park. Kids scattered everywhere in the Slash Town, Playground and Safety Town. This park is wedged up against a beautiful lake with several pavilions to host parties. Volleyball and Tetherball fields are also offered. Welleby is a beautiful park in the City of Sunrise. I've reviewed it but this review is for the dog park portion. The dog park is called Pawgrass at Welleby Park. There were plenty of parking every time we've been. There are three sections; small, medium, and large dogs area. The dogs are allowed to be unleashed in the fenced in areas. The owners must clean up after their dogs. The specifics and rules are posted on their website. I noticed there were times the grass was gone and bare; I think they've fixed that since the last time I've been and try to maintain it. Overall, a great spot to let the pups loose. read more

Something to note. They have a big dog park area and small dog park area . My friend picked up a chicken box from publix and said let's eat our lunch at Welleby . She pointed at the dog park and so I said don't you see big dogs and she said but there are vacant tables there . I said there are so many big dogs and she said so let's sit in the little dog park and eat we can watch the small dogs . We enter and sit and no sooner than we open that chicken box we are surround by at least ten dogs and two of them have jumped on the table with the chicken .We tell the dogs go away but they are wagging their tails away . One man says don't you see there is a sign that says no food and I apologise and gab my chicken pieces and go out side but no my friend insisted there was no sign because she did not see it . The dogs refuse to stop surrounding her . Motto of the story, let common sense kick in . Even though it says bitch park doesn't mean it you . Read the sign . Super cute park. This park is in sunrise and it can get really crowded which is not my vibe at all, however it's really cute and I recommend to bring the kiddos here at least once. Lost of photo location and super cute "street and roads" for the kids to "drive" in. We didn't find open bathrooms so that's was not great specially if you have kids with you. read more

This is a dream park for kids, they have so much to do here. They have a small town, they have a water park & a park for little ones and bigger kiddos. Also they have gazebos for events, this seems like a great place to have a birthday party! Overall this is a great park and I definitely would recommend it. My grandson and I had the most amazing day at Welleby Park. We went during the week to avoid the large crowds and it was perfect. We ate our lunch near the water sprinklers and then he had a blast riding his bike in the little town. He also enjoyed the playground. 10/10 read more

Such a well designed and clean park! The splash pad is well loved by ours and other children. The play ground has a lot of options. Their mini kid size town is super fun to walk though and take pictures at. I do wish there was more staff enforcing splash pad rules as there were loud dogs within splashpad fencing. read more

It is such a beautiful park with loads of fun activities, they have a little town for kids, with the bank and everything ! It was so much fun ; the kids are also has a train which the kids go in, and a slide. On the other side there's a splash pad for warmer days , and it is pretty big , so you can also take your kids to that area as well. On weekends it gets pretty packed , so I would advice to go there on a week day , over all the park is beautiful, it is very clean and kids have a blast! I absolutely LOVED THIS PARK! It's one of my top favorite ones, only downfall is that it's far for me. If it was closer I would go more frequently. It's about a 45 minutes drive from my house, but it's worth the drive. They have 2 playgrounds for kids ages 2-8 years old and then their city is sooo cute. My kids rode their scooters and bikes all around the city...and this mawma took lots of amazing pictures of them. Then at the end they enjoyed the wonderful splash pad. Other positives: free entrance, free parking and lots of parking, very clean including their bathrooms, lots of seating, benches (covered and uncovered), and it has an inside to rent for parties. I hope it continues to be like this and nothing changes just new additions. read more

The 29 acre Welleby Park opened in 1985. It was looking a little dated but it now is worthy a 5 star upgrade with its recent 4 million dollars worth of upgrades. The park was expanded on the west side with a new dog park Pawgrass at Welleby Park, enlarged meeting room, construction of a Safety Town, bigger playground with a train play area, nature themed splash pad, and a lakeside boardwalk with a fishing pier and a canoe/kayak launch. The 26 acre lake is stocked with fish. The park also has 11 picnic pavilions and a 1.23 mile looped walking path around the park. I came on a weeknight to exercise on the path and it looked like most of Sunrise was enjoying the new amenities. Safety town's streets were filled with kids ridding their bikes and driving their electric cars. Even more children were enjoying the splash pad and playground. Other people were having a picnic dinner, exercising, playing with their dogs, and fishing. This park has breathed new life into the area. If you are intrested in checking it all out Welleby Park will be hosting a fall harvest festival on October 15th from 1 to 4 PM. There will be food and retail vendors and a petting zoo, games, and rides for the kids. read more

DOES NOT GET BETTER THAN THIS! Mega park in Sunrise with easy parking (but I bet that's not the case on weekends), an adorable splash pad, two massive playground areas with a wide age range of activities, smaller sliding area for the smallers, and of course, the little tiny town. Bring bikes (and helmets) or just chill out to the coolest park perched on a lake - so relaxing! My only wish would be for a fencing system to enable a single in/out situation - otherwise, it can feel a bit overwhelming with the huge space to keep track of those excited little monkeys. Will absolutely be back (and will urge all Parks and Rec departments to take a look at this genius plan!)!!! THANKFUL read more

FIVE STARS!!! We went on a Saturday expecting no parking and we found parking just fine and under shade. It was also close to the park so not much walking to it, just crossing the street. I was in complete awe my first time visiting this park. They did such a nice job with it, really modernizing the look of city parks. It just opened a couple of weeks ago so it was quite crowded when we went, but because it is so large and has so many awesome features, the kids were still able to enjoy themselves. The park has 2 playgrounds, a miniature city, and a splash pad for the kids. I also saw a walking path by the lake, a field, a dog park, and some pavilions with grills. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that the parking situation wasn't great. By the field and dog park there is a nice big lot. But by the playground side there are only a few spots lining the sides so people were parking on the grass or having to turn around to go to the lot. If you can't get a spot by the playgrounds it would be a really long walk to take your children, strollers, bags, or whatever else you lug around with a family. I was very impressed with how they put this park together. It has a train theme that carries over from the city to the playground and has such a wonderful variety of play that kids can be entertained for a long time. I hope they upkeep it well, because it really seems like a great park! read more

Finally a new dog park that is relatively close to home. Its not super big, but its has plenty of open space for the larger dogs to run around. The good things about it, there is plenty of places to sit, there's an area to wash your dog , although it could use a hose, all the benches around the park have some kind of shade, there's ample parking but the best thing about this park is that there is a bathroom attached in. There is only a couple of negative thing, anyone can use it and there is nothing to keep people out with aggressive and unvaccinated dogs from using it. It's going to take some time for the trees to grow in and provide some shade and its a dry park. There's no water feature place to put pools in to help cool off our furry friends. It will take a couple of years but this has the making if a great park. read more

What a fantastic gem of a park this is. It's very well mainured, maintained and very clean. I wish we had one closer to my home. This park is beautiful and the kids have so much fun here. There is a little village with roads, sidewalks, stop signs and railroad crossings. This is perfect for them to scooter and ride bike around. There is a little playground that's a train theme that's perfect for little ones. There is a large climbing set that's perfect for older toddlers and young kids. Best of all there is a cold splash pad for them to cool off! There are a few pavilions around that could be rented for events. read more

Very nicely maintained dog park, gives you three different dog park sizes, one for small dogs, medium sized dogs under 25 lb, and then large dogs over 25 lb. My dog enjoys it and it also has a little walking trail and the medium size & large park area, they have a fountain area for them to get water, benches to sit at, and you can also walk your dog in the surrounding areas of the park on a leash.
