OMG! Can't believe this place. It's way more than just a large park as it's a destination worth a drive. It's in Broward County just off University Drive and it's free. So glad some friends told us about this place awhile back when we were talking about places to take the grandkids in the future. But even if you're just a kid at heart, You may want to visit here. Wear your bathing suit. It's easy to find. And there's ample free parking out front. Mid week when we stopped by it wasn't very busy. But if I had kids, I'd be here every weekend -- especially in our recent hot weather. First and foremost is the interactive water/splash pad. So many machines spraying water, buckets dumping, etc etc. The three kids there were squealing with joy and excitement. Such fun. There's also a story walk/trail for children with various stops plus a regular walking trail. A covered playground with equipment for kids. A Volleyball sand court; basketball court; grills; picnic areas... all with a large swath of green grass in the middle -- perfect for events/concerts. On the south end is the canal C-14 with a fishing pier. More "waters edge" as in the name. And also for adults, there's a covered area right near the water with all sorts of gym/exercise equipment. Don't know what more you could want except maybe a few more resting benches along the main trail for the older folks... Go check it out. Bring the kids. read more

During a conversation with friends we were talking about parks to take grandchildren or little ones to with all this heat. Waters Edge came up so we had to check it out. Featured at the entrance are children's water fountains and refreshing jets of water! Fitness equipment, a short fishing pier, picnic grills and other amenities abound in this beautiful and well maintained park. read more

Nice park for kids to enjoy a splash, bring an umbrella and a seat as the seating is very limited. Would have been a 5th star if they added seating and coverage from the sun. read more

Waters Edge Park - Great day for a splash - Parks Near Me - Tamarac, Florida

This is a decent park located in Tamarac. There were plenty of parking. If you live in South Florida, you know that splash pads are super crucial in the hot humid heat. The splash pad is fenced in; only a handful of benches/picnic tables which are usually taken. I like that they have a canopy over the splash pad for shade. Some of the playscape in the splash pad needs updating. There were restrooms nearby. There was a walking path, playground, fitness station, basketball court, grills, and fishing is allowed on the canal (a deck is located on the edge of the water). Overall, a good place to bring your kids to cool down! read more

This is a cool and kind of hidden park. Driven by it dozens of times and never realized what it was. The water play area is nice, I just wish they had more seats for parents. If you don't get there early, you gotta stand or sit on the floor. So, bring a chair. The covered playground was nice too, my son enjoyed that a lot. There's a lot of open area for okay or picnics. A little spot for fishing and a basketball court. They have 2 water fountains but I didn't see any vending machines, which would be nice to have. read more

This park is rundown and not well kept The city needs to do better. The playground always has things that are broken or not working the splash pad when it's working is not well kept the place is super trashy most of the time. It has potential to be a very beautiful park read more

Two years ago the city of Tamarac had 1.6 million dollars to spend so they held an open forum where residents could discuss what they wanted in a park. The park was slated to open in 2027. After a delay the result is finally here, Tamaracs newest park, Waters Edge. The 6 acre park includes a state of the art 3,000 square foot splash pad, a 6,000 square foot covered playground, 2 covered picnic shelters, benches, restrooms, outdoor fitness zone, exercise path, WiFi, and a fishing pier. On the night I visited the park was filled with residents using the amenities. I was taking a picture of the cool bench and a man came up to me and said "You know what I am going to take a picture of this bench too! I love this park. I live right over there and this is my park. The city is going to put even more stuff here. We just have to keep it clean." I got a kick out of how proud this resident was of the park. On March 29 from 1 to 4 Tamarac is having a grand opening celebration for the park. The splash pad will be on, there will be live music, arts and crafts, face painting, and games. Come out and check out this great new park. I think what they came up with is going to make everyone very happy. read more

What an awesome find. I am from out of town and looked up splash pads on Yelp. It was about a 20 minute drive from where I am staying in Fort Lauderdale. My son had a blast. We came on a Wednesday at 10 am and stayed for about 1,5 hour. Definitely can make a whole day of if if you pack a cooler. Will def be back! read more

Small water park only a 4 full size picnic benches for sitting spots so if u plan on taking the little ones get there early. Same as the enclosed, covered playground which is about 500 feet away...with only 3 places to sit. This place is mostly geared for 2-6 year olds. The park is active with basketball courts, a sand volleyball court and an exercise park included. I felt safe with my kids cuz there was a police cruiser there.. but after they left i had to keep a close eye on my kids cuz there were a lot of men walking around. The kids had a great time. We stayed about 2 hours which was enough time to burn their energy and tire them out before bed. read more

Very nice when it isnt over crowded. During the summer a few camps will come take over which I don't think it's right because they do not watch over the kids. The baby change table in the bathroom needs to be fixed. read more

It was the best we had so much fun I definitely2-5It was the best time ever And if you ever see the water off all you have to do is press a button I just realized that we spent so much time at the park cause we thought it was close after it was raining but it was not read more

The park is fantastic for children. I love the overall ambiance of the area. I do have a pro/con to the water bank. Although I love the open area to the water line, but the fact that kids have the same access to the water can pose as a safety concern. I am always with my child, however, it is not the case for everyone. Overall, great park. read more

Amazing park to take your little ones! They will have so much fun, they have a big splash pad and also a covered playground which is perfect with this heat. They also have an area with exercise machines and two shelters available for rent. Great park overall read more

A great hidden spot. Great place to take kids who want to cool off on hot days, running around in the water! read more

This place only has 7 reviews as I post this so I will definitely say it is underrated. My preschool age kids love this place and basically cry every time we have to leave. Things I love here are the splash pad, which is enclosed by the way, which is a huge plus. I also went to the playground last time we were here and it is really clean and had so much for the kids to do. They have this swing thing that you can sit on and it goes around the park-kind of hard to explain, but it was really amazing. The rest of the park is relaxing and a great place for a little picnic. I think they even have a little gym area for adults and a volleyball court. Great family park all around but make sure to bring your bathing suit so the kids can enjoy the splash pad! read more

This is the best kiddie park in Broward. Full splash zone and separate huge covered play area with a kind of swing monorail that's killer. Kudos Tamarac! read more

We've been to Waters Edge Park several times now. It's probably our favorite splash pad in Broward County. It's honestly hard to believe it's free! There are so many fountains and water elements for kids to run and play in. There are even some smaller fountains that are great to sit by with a baby so that they can splash around too. Even better is that there is a nice, well covered, playground and a fitness area. This really is a gorgeous park! read more

Literally the best free splash pad in the Fort Lauderdale area. We just discovered this park a few days ago and are already back for a second time. Brand new amenities, it's clean, well kept. Hasn't been overrun with summer camps... yet. I feel like the secret will be out soon. It has a full covered workout area with all new equipment. The playground is brand new and covered and has a big swing zip line I have never seen at a playground in South Florida. My kids are 8 and 5 so we've been to a lot of parks. Also two brand new basketball courts and a volleyball net with all new white sand. Highly recommend Waters Edge Park! read more
