The 8 acre Cypress Preserve Park opened in 2015 along with nearby Oak Hammock Park. The creation of the parks was funded from a grant from the Broward County Land Stewardship Program which provides for the preservation of natural lands and the creation of parks. Park amenities include a swamp themed splash pad, recycled material nature trail, 9 hole disc golf course, bathroom, 3 picnic pavilions, and 9 exercise stations with outdoor machines. The park is environmentally friendly with solar lights and sensors in the splash pad to conserve water by turning off when not in use. This park is the perfect place to cool down and get exercise. I saw a lot of families soaking themselves in the splash and then taking off to exercise on the trail. Like all of the parks in Sunrise this one is meticulously maintained with beautiful landscaping like silver buttonwoods and firebush to attract butterflies. The plants in the park are 90 percent native to Florida. This is a wonderful place to bring the community together.

Quality time with the fam at a quaint splash pad location. This was truly fun and very private. Most splash pads are at huge community pools and park locations. This was a little nature reserve with a trail that led to the splash pad and barbecue pavilion. Very nice. The kids enjoyed it and we didn't have to worry about a large crowd or group. It was also fenced in so I felt very comfortable. If you're a parent or if you've been to a splash pad/birthday party at the community center you know that sometimes these places can be as large as two tennis courts without any fencing and sometimes next to Olympic sized pools so a parent would definitely be on guard. It was not the case at this location. Total comfort and ease.

Awesome little neighborhood park that is clean and beautiful. This park is fairly new and I always drive by it but never stopped to see what it's about. For safety, this park closes at night and dogs are not allowed. Upon entering, they have a decent size parking lot and restroom facilities. There's a waterpark for the kids and it was packed on a Sunday around noon. There's a trail all along the park which is good for a stroll or run. The pavement is very soft and the impact won't be too bad on the knees as if you were running on regular pavement. There are workout stations throughout the park which I find is a neat feature. If you don't want to pay for a gym membership or workout inside, this is a great alternative. This was my first time here and I wish I came here sooner. The landscape is gorgeous, filled with butterfly plants, palm trees, and other types of bushes that I can't name. It's meticuously clean and I think this is a hidden gem located in Sunrise.

This park is a hidden gem. I run the half mile track and use the workout machin every morning before work. It's beautiful.

OMG! Can't believe this place. It's way more than just a large park as it's a destination worth a…read moredrive. It's in Broward County just off University Drive and it's free. So glad some friends told us about this place awhile back when we were talking about places to take the grandkids in the future. But even if you're just a kid at heart, You may want to visit here. Wear your bathing suit. It's easy to find. And there's ample free parking out front. Mid week when we stopped by it wasn't very busy. But if I had kids, I'd be here every weekend -- especially in our recent hot weather. First and foremost is the interactive water/splash pad. So many machines spraying water, buckets dumping, etc etc. The three kids there were squealing with joy and excitement. Such fun. There's also a story walk/trail for children with various stops plus a regular walking trail. A covered playground with equipment for kids. A Volleyball sand court; basketball court; grills; picnic areas... all with a large swath of green grass in the middle -- perfect for events/concerts. On the south end is the canal C-14 with a fishing pier. More "waters edge" as in the name. And also for adults, there's a covered area right near the water with all sorts of gym/exercise equipment. Don't know what more you could want except maybe a few more resting benches along the main trail for the older folks... Go check it out. Bring the kids.

Featured at the entrance are children's water fountains and refreshing jets of water! Fitness equipment, a short fishing pier, picnic grills and other amenities abound in this beautiful and well maintained park.
