There are no shaded areas so plan to visit early in the morning or later in the afternoon. However, if you end up here right in the middle of the day, don't worry! Your kids will be excited to cool down at the adjacent water park- also free! In between the city and water park there is a nice mostly shaded playground. This was such a fun place to visit! There is a big mall within a 10 min drive so you can make this a day trip!

Although it's very famous for its off road courses, biking the paved roads of the park is great as well. I've also used the range here, solid. But over the past couple years, we have come out here for the disc golf. It's a great course. Tough holes that feel very makable but still can humble most that play it. There are many other things to include a RC boats and RC planes areas, but whatever you mind come out West by, you are bound to enjoy Markham.

This park has picnic shelters and a playground with shade cover with an adjacent bathroom. The athletic fields are immaculate. They have four baseball/ softball fields, one football field that can also be used for lacrosse with stadium seating, a running track, and two artificial turf fields. There is a concession stand by the fields and more bathrooms. The fields have night lighting so games can be held in the evening. There is even a roller hockey rink. Dogs are allowed at the park as long as they are on a leash no longer than six feet. This is a wonderful park to exercise, participate in or watch a game, or just to take the kids to play.

It's easy to follow via the trails app. It's a great place for hikes, long walks or for just taking a break from people. The kids would love it here as well. We walked past a few play grounds and biking trails. I plan on taking the kids back soon for some fun. 10/10 as far as parks are concerned.

There is no shade on the grounds so much of the time was spent standing in the hot sun. Waiting to get into an airboat was a bit chaotic and tiresome. There were shade canopies along the queue but they were not deployed for some reason. Staff seemed a bit disorganized, groups were confused on where to go and given mixed directions from staff members. The experience on the boat was nice and we saw a variety of wildlife. The captain was knowledgeable and spotted alligators quickly. The gator show was fun but short. The host Paul was funny and engaging, the entire audience was captivated. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Our highlight was getting to hold a baby alligator and knowing that our money was going to one of the only no kill gator rescues!
