It Has everything and more. picnic areas, tables and grills, nature trails, kids learning exhibits, playgrounds, merry go round. Indoor and outdoor basketball courts. Plenty of baseball fields. What a fun park to visit! They have so much to do. They have a big park for children with a splash pad, slides, swings, and so many fun activities for children. There is a science museum where kids can continue exploring. There is also a garden and nature walk. There are picnic tables where you can bring food and enjoy lunch in the shade. One of the best parks in the area. It's over 130 acres and has some of the best attractions for kids and adults. I haven't been here in years and I met a friend who was going to get her annual beach pass. It was a little nostalgic because as I walked around the Fieldhouse, I had so many memories from when the kids were little. For years I spent every weekend here. Between basketball, baseball and when there weren't sports, we just went to the park. The huge science themed playground is one that every child loves. Swings, twisty slides, spinners, climbing areas and a splash area for when it gets really hot. My boys could spend hours here. They loved going through the tunnels to the slides and since it's made for little ones, it's difficult for parents to go up so you have to trust that they will be able to get up and down safely. When my younger one finished playing we would head right over to the carousel. I cannot believe the carousel is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Feels like just yesterday I took my son the day it opened. The park has so much more to offer than just outdoor activities. Inside there's a free hands-on science museum for children with everything from rocket ships to molecules. It's a fun way to introduce your children to science. The Willow Theater is a small performing arts venue hosting plays, concerts, and performances year-round. So many great things to take advantage of here. One of the best things in Boca. read more

There's also a science museum and a carousel, but we weren't able to check them out the day we went as they were not available during the time we were there. This park had me from the moment I saw the carrousel! Carrousels are a kid's dream come true. They seem so magical, relaxing and fun! My daughter was riding for the first time ever and she absolutely loved it. She is only one year old and I was glad they allowed us to ride the carrousel while holding her. They also have an amazing playground area. It was a very hot day so we didn't spend much time there, but look forward to coming back. We did checked out the little science museum and it was so much fun. Even though is a small one there were enough things to keep my daughter entertained. I recommend this park for little and big children, there is something to enjoy for everyone! Tip: in order to use the carrousel one needs to buy "tokens" inside the museum building at the front office. It's only $1 per ride/per person. read more

Sugar sand is one of our favorite parks. The treehouse like walkway is so much fun and it feels like you're on your own island going for an exploration. Sugar and truly has it all. A carousel, splash pad, and the playground is one of a kind for the area.. not only are there swings and slides. There are variety of different climbing areas for different levels and throughout the park there are so many musical playground instruments or children can explore and create different sounds. Overall, it's very well-maintained! We visited the science museum on a few occasions. It's very cute and they even have a garden in the back where you can water the plants. . At the moment our child is partaking an amazing athletes which they absolutely love and is teaching them so many amazing leadership and teambuilding skills alongside general knowledge like colors and numbers. My son enjoyed everything from the splash pad, the playground and even the carousel (my son doesn't even like carousels). And he loved the science explorium. Such a fun cute park! Absolutely loved that the playground had so much to do and even had a carousel across. The park was very clean and not too full. It had a splash area in the middle of the playground, picnic tables, and seating all around to keep an eye on the kids. The carousel was also very fun with one token per ride which cost one dollar. They also had a science exploration center which we didn't get to check out giving me a reason to go back and take the kids. This is the perfect place to spend spring break or even a summer day. Visited this park on a Monday morning the day, Broward County schools were back in session. I had been so excited to check this out with my 3 year old. We made the 40 min trip and it was so worth it. While in pictures and videos, it is obviously big I did not expect it to be this big. There is so much to do at this park.From splash pad to carousel to a well thought out layout of playground. There's an indoor museum that is based off of donations. You can absolutely spend a day here depending on your child's age. I would say ideally the age range that would most enjoy this park are from 5- 12. If you have kids younger than that age, range be prepared to follow your child everywhere. The playground structure is like a maze once you are inside the playground you will be going up down and all around. This is not an enclosed playground.There are different slide sizes, plenty of swinging and lots of space, there's even a splash pad right in the middle of the playground structure. On Mondays the carousel is closed so we will be back however it did not derail us from checking out the rest of what the park had. After the playground, we went to check out the indoor science museum, which was so much fun. I am amazed at how thorough and well thought out this park is. My daughter was engaged from the moment we got there to the moment that we left so much so she did not want to leave. At the science center there was the opportunity to walk a trail and play Bug bingo. The bathrooms were clean and well taken care of. We had such an amazing time and will absolutely be back. read more

i've been coming to this park since i was a kid. i'm overjoyed to be able to bring my kids here now. the splash pad is more of a mist so it's fun but not too overwhelming. plenty of room to run around and swings to utilize. the science center is always being updated and i really appreciate the staffs hard work to keep it fun and interesting. u need to watch your kids very closely on busy days because it is not fenced in and they could potentially run off but as long as u keep close you'll have a great time read more

We absolutely love this park and come all the way from Palm Beach Gardens a few times a month. We love the carousel for $1 rides, although the people who run it are often angry birds. Visited here with the kids and man did they love it here especially the older one who is 5 years old. This playground was very unique and fun for kids. We came on a Saturday afternoon and there was a lot of people here in the playground area. They had swings, seesaws, and musical instruments and all types of stuff for little kids. Never been here. Never heard of this place before. The only reason we came here was for a Scout event next door at the Children's Science Explorium. Sugar Sand Park is AMAZING!!! I've never been to a playground this massive before. And I've seen tons of playgrounds between three kids. It's three stories tall and goes way past just the main area when you walk in. There are swings, climbing structures, small kids playground and spaces with covered huts and tables/chairs so you can sit and hang or eat. Really a beautiful playground. Well designed all around. I have to say being an adult I was super excited to be here. I can't even imagine what kids feel like when they walk in here, it must be like Disney World for them! Haha. If you're in the area and have kids, bring them here. You won't be sorry. My kids did not want to leave!!! read more

4.5 stars. Sugar Sand Park is a beautiful park in Boca Raton; it is maintained by the city. Parking was spacious. There are many amenities; baseball/softball field, basketball courts, carousel, grills, trails/walking paths, picnic pavilions, playground, and splash pads. Pavilions can be rented for a fee. When we went, there were three spots we were interested in; playground, carousel, and The Children's Science Explorium. The playground was huge! One of the best playgrounds I've been to. However, it is busy so you have to be with your child like white on rice. Some of the spots, you can't see them because they can disappear into tunnels. Also, since it's Florida, it's hot and humid with no shade. My toddler had a blast though. The Children's Science Explorium. This was a small and cute museum that was FREE. They had different displays which involved science. Most were interactive and they offer programs and classes. The carousel was fun; purchase a token and take a ride. There were picnic tables throughout. A lovely feature in the park! Overall, it's a lovely park. I had to give it 4.5 stars because of the super busy playground with little shade. This is an enormous park. Probably the largest park that I've ever been to. We have nothing like this back in NJ, so taking my daughter here was such a treat! The playspace is so large with so many areas to climb, slides, swings, tunnels and more. My daughter is still a little small to take advantage of a lot of this, but I could see this being a place that your child could enjoy for years without getting bored. In addition to the playspace there is also a carousel which is a nice touch. You'll need to bring single dollars if you'd like to ride it. The park is well laid out with plenty of parking and a clean public restroom. They do not allow dogs / pets. Highly recommend for some outdoor fun for the kids in Boca! read more

This was our first time visiting this park. It was overly crowded with wet children from the splash pad running (& sliding) everywhere. I didn't let my kid go to the splash pad but we still ended up wet from the slides and slipping on the ground. There is a smaller kiddo play area but it wasn't all that exciting. There are plenty of special needs play areas which is nice but again super crowded so patience is a must. I liked that most areas were covered from the sun. I would recommend kids 5 and older unless your younger child is comfortable running around without you helping to climb up and down steps. read more

Came from West Palm with my 2 year old goddaughter and she was in heaven. The playground is huge and has a lot of different activities for age/skill levels. The science exhibition is fairly small so its a little busy and the exhibits are better for slightly older kids but my goddaughter was still engaged and entertained with what she was able to reach and see. There was a lot of parking and it was all free! There's a carousel (out of order ), pavilions and a lot of other stuff for all ages. Just the playground and science center are well worth a drive/visit to do something fun and different with young kiddos on a budget. OMG!! What an amazing park. It has lots of parking, very clean, plenty of trash cans, covered benches and seating for the adults, and lots of sections for kids to play. It has a splash pad in the middle of their maze that my kids enjoyed running around, going up and down the steps, left to right and all around. There are 2 sections of playgrounds one is for more smaller kids, which I like that it's completely divided and in another area. They also have an indoor section called science explorium that we went into after being outside for 3 hours. In the science exploeium you can't take food or drinks, but outside in the park you have whatever food you brought. They don't have food trucks or any food for sell, which I'm good with that because it give you the liberty to being your own food. What they do provide is ayer faucet even the one to refill your bottles with. It's a must go park. read more

Visited this park for the first time today and had such a blast. The playground is so large, the kids had no shortage of slides, swings, or climbing structures on which to play. There's a little carousel across from the playground that offers $1 rides (hours are abbreviated and you will have to purchase a token with a machine that only accepts $1, $5 or $10). A cute splash pad offers some relief from the hot sun, and is situated right inside the playground. The park provides more amenities, but we didn't make it past the carousel and playground. Definitely worth checking it out if your kids are crying out of boredom. read more

I have such found memories coming here growing up, I was sad when I heard they were renovating but it's better then ever. This is hands down the best park in the area. I was baby sitting and brought the kids here and they had a blast just like I used to. The splash zone is also great for cooking down on a hot day. Overall, this is a really great park, and there is so much you can do for free. From basketball courts, ball fields, a nature trail, a garden, a theater, an indoor science museum, a carousel, and a HUGE playground with a small splash pad. Plenty of bathrooms and places to sit in the shade. I took my 4 year old and he had an absolute blast. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is the only had one set of vending machines kind of hidden and they don't really work. I tried swiping my card and using the tap to pay, also with my phone. It worked on the drink machine but not the snack machine. Meanwhile, a lady with cash couldn't get either to work. When I asked the staff member close by, she kind of nonchalantly brushed it off as a normal issue and didn't really care. I've worked in customer service my whole career and a little empathy goes a long way. I'll definitely come back but I'll make sure I bring a bag or cooler with drinks and snacks. My GPS took me to the maintenance entrance so I had to find the right one. Because the next one was for staff. So go to the one on Military Trail and you'll find a lot of parking. read more
