They have a bookstore inside the library with affordable books! They also do 1,000 books before kindergarten for infants/toddlers for free!

Very friendly staff and many great programs for residents and non-residents. The kids area is big and very nice!

New checkin process to get books during pandemic.

Great spot to get puzzles, cooking pans, CDs, DVDs and books! A wonderful kids section that includes computers and classes for all ages. The staff have all been super friendly. There are two vending machines near the entrance of the Bookstore and just past the art gallery entry way. Plenty of parking spaces in their own lot and extra spots in a new lot across the street. The library has an informational e-newsletter I would highly recommend if interested in all of their programs via their website. And one final tidbit, if you borrow a book from the Spanish River Library or the Downtown Branch you can return your items to either Library.

WOW, I have been going to the Spanish River branch but decide to try the new library in central Boca. What a gorgeous library.

This library is incredible! It's so beautiful, with arched ceilings and tons of light. The wooden book displays are so attractive. I felt like I was in a movie version of a library. This library belongs to the City of Boca Raton. In the entrance hallway hangs beautiful black and white photos of Native Americans. To the left are the bathrooms and to the right is a little nook with snack and soda machines and a real live used bookstore- with it's own separate Yelp listing. This is before you enter the inner doors of the Library. I came here for an event; the community room where the event was held was giant, with one entire wall of the room paneled with windows. The children's section of the library is also huge. It is designed thoughtfully and intuitively for little people. Upon entering, my toddler encountered a small coloring table; my son walked up to it, pulled out the little bench, sat down, pulled out the easily accessible supples and began to color on his own. There are tons of colorful signs and outfacing books in the shelves that make the bookcases very navigable- and enough space to really spread all the sections out. My son pointed out colorful fish hanging from the ceiling at the back of the section- and here we found such a lovely space. Here, with a wall of windows so that light pours in, is an ocean-themed wonderland for kids and parents alike. The chairs and couches are clean, beautiful, comfortable and open-armed so that all may climb up on to them. Small, sturdy wooden tables hid tucked next to chairs- the kind that are a sturdy block and can handle being climbed on. The carpet was beautiful and very clean looking. The bookcases and chairs create a natural boundary to keep this room semi-private while also open to the rest of the children's area. Several wooden toy stations with moveable parts were admired by all ages of children, including a tall, creative 'spaceship' piece and a train table. Boxes of toys lay casually in large, open, built-in wooden structures that could not be knocked over and that even a crawler could crawl into and pull out a find. Open, child-sized book displays featured an array of mostly board books for reading. Giant photos of sea creatures hung on the small parts of the room that constitute a wall. What a lovely, child-and-parent-friendly space. I really appreciated the signs saying that this particular space is only for children and adults accompanied by children. While other parts of the children's section are accessible to all, there is no reason to hang out in this particular 'room' unless you are a child at play or the supervisor of one. This was only one part of this library! I look forward to returning to enjoy the wonders that the adult section might hold.

It's a great little library. Friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful staff, great selection of books, audiobooks, and much more. There is an annual membership fee of $150 if you're not a Boca resident. I just come, grab a book, sit by the water and read...

Welcoming and well lit lobby. Art on walls left and right.

This review focuses on the various areas of the library after a general write-up of its aesthetics. [We needed a new library in the downtown area desperately as the former one was cramped, dark, dirty, and uninviting. No where to sit, no vibe, just worn out looking. This location opened about a year ago. ] This location is the OPPOSITE in all respects. All LIGHT WOODS used, floor to ceiling windows admitting lots of natural light. INDIVIDUAL STUDY/READING ROOMS as well as small conference rooms for group study. Contemporary furnishings. CLUSTERS OF COMFORTABLE SEATING, lots of outlets for electronic device charging. Lots of seating around perimeter, look out windows to greenery. STAFF are EXCEEDINGLY KNOWLEDGEABLE, HELPFUL AND CARING, especially at INFORMATION kiosk. Some check-out staff could try a few more smiles! MAGAZINES AND JOURNALS AND NEWSPAPER COLLECTION to read on-site A VERY LARGE CHILDREN, TEEN, and really YOUNG section - almost half the library square footage - to encourage use by our community's youth. Includes an awesome APPLE COMPUTER ROOM for under 17's to hang out and utilize the iMacs. Impressed with the welcoming design of the area for the really young children. Any parent would appreciate its value. This was well executed! Large VIDEO collection, films, foreign language and domestic, old/new. Audio books. COMMONS area when you first enter to your left where best sellers and popular new books are displayed as well as recommendations by staff. Easy to wander around and find new books. ROTATING ART displays on walls adds a nice touch to the entry lobby. FRIENDS OF LIBRARY USED BOOKSTORE conveniently located on the right as you enter. Donate your books or buy used ones, many quite good. LIMITED VENDING MACHINE area for snacks and drinks. MY NEGATIVES 1- Small bathrooms located only at entrance, and once you're in the library you need to walk to the entry if you need the facilities. Don't understand why they could not have added bathrooms at the other end - a plumbing cost issue? If that was it, could have obtained a donation from one of our $$ millionaire residents with a weak bladder. There must be a lot of them! 2 - SIGNAGE could be better in the stacks. 3- ADD SIGNS to some of the computers so people know WHAT they can be used for. As an example, computers near INFORMATION rotunda where staff help patrons. Ya gotta ask what those are for (library catalog). 4 - ADD SIGNS to the computers near the book pick-up section. Those do not access the catalog. SO, what are they there for?? 5 - Make sure you empty TRASH several times a day. With so many patrons eating and drinking (it's allowed), the garbage cans fill quickly. Avoid bugs from making it their home.

I didn't want to walk around taking pictures. That would be bad manners!

Not kid friendly. Not a warm or welcoming face to be found, but rest assured they will look up to bark at you and your baby .

I love quiet time, so the library was the perfect solution. I haven't been to a library in decades so I was pleasantly surprised at how things have changed. There are several computer stations available to use at no cost. I work on a laptop so I didn't need to use them. I did use their scanner and printer a few times. Copies are just twenty five cents and there is no charge to use the scanner. There are plenty of seating areas scattered throughout the library and the chairs are very comfortable. I appreciated that each desk has it's own desk light. Individual study rooms are available and can be reserved in advance if necessary. A few times that I needed to hop on a call, I lucked out and found an empty room. They also have a conference room that can be reserved. The staff is great, and I found them to be very helpful. They are really nice too. The security guard stationed at the entrance is friendly. There is a monthly calendar that covers the events and classes for all Palm Beach County library locations. Just ask for a copy at the front desk. Plenty of parking right in front of the building.

It's two floors of pure enjoyment. On the first floor, there's a Starbucks, which adds such a cozy touch -- you can grab a coffee, matcha, or tea and just sit down with a book and relax. The store is very -- there's an elevator and escalators, making it easy with kids. The second floor has an amazing kids' section with books and toys. And not just any toys -- they're actually high-quality, unique, and very thoughtfully curated. There are also areas where kids can play, and even a small stage where they host storytime on certain days -- such a magical experience for little ones. Everything is always clean and comfortable. I especially love the carpeted floors -- it makes it so easy to just sit down anywhere, even on the floor, with a book and your coffee and enjoy the moment. The book selection is huge, including lots of activity books, crafts, and educational materials. My kids absolutely love it here -- there's always something new to explore, create, and learn. Restrooms are clean, staff is friendly, and the location is great. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, as well as a Whole Foods Market and other shops. Parking is also very convenient. Overall, this is one of our favorite places to spend time as a family. Highly recommend!
