I usually go to the Deerfield library filled with smelly patrons, loud children and kind librarians. Even though the Boca library was beautiful everyone who worked there was kind of rude. Maybe they were having a bad day or did not want to help me print my paper. It cost me $.80 and seemed to be a bit of an annoyance for the people working there, I definitely will not be back. Not everyone who worked there was unpleasant but from now on, I will stay in Broward where the employees are nice.

The library officially opened on January 26, 2008, following the approval of a $19.8 million bond by Boca Raton taxpayers in 2003 to expand the city's public library system. The building is so beautiful that it even serves as a wedding venue and features a catering kitchen for special events. Beyond its extensive collection of fiction and nonfiction books, the library offers quiet reading and study spaces, meeting rooms, a snack room with vending machines, a children's area, an art gallery, and scenic patio seating. The Friends of the Boca Raton Public Library, a nonprofit volunteer organization founded in 1990, has raised funds for many major library initiatives, including the library's bookmobile, which brings library services to underserved communities; AWE Early Literacy Stations at both the Downtown Boca Raton Public Library and Spanish River Library; and the award-winning StoryWalk trails located in Boca Raton's public parks. It was a large space with many organized shelves displaying a vast genre of books, DVDs, CDs, and audio books. There were plenty of computers, study rooms for privacy, and seats. The children's area was on the right side of the library while the adults area was on the other side. The library was partially full of patrons and it was fairly quiet. I approached the check out desk and returned the borrowed item. I definitely would like to return to this library whenever I'm around the area.

I got my card and instructions for borrowing e-books, audiobooks and movies. I walked through the library and was rather shocked to see that they are still on the Dewey decimal system - - being in academia, I'm used to the Library of Congress system. I thought Dewey was no longer used! The parking lot is large so parking was not an issue but I was surprised to see just how many people were in the stacks perusing books. I'm glad to see that the library (brick and mortar) is still alive and well.

I stopped here on the way to a client and they were just wonderful helping me get everything situated. It costs I think 35 cents per page, but worth it when it's in a pinch. The kids section is right in front and apparently they give out snacks after school. It's two floors of pure enjoyment. On the first floor, there's a Starbucks, which adds such a cozy touch -- you can grab a coffee, matcha, or tea and just sit down with a book and relax. The store is very -- there's an elevator and escalators, making it easy with kids. The second floor has an amazing kids' section with books and toys. And not just any toys -- they're actually high-quality, unique, and very thoughtfully curated. There are also areas where kids can play, and even a small stage where they host storytime on certain days -- such a magical experience for little ones. Everything is always clean and comfortable. I especially love the carpeted floors -- it makes it so easy to just sit down anywhere, even on the floor, with a book and your coffee and enjoy the moment. The book selection is huge, including lots of activity books, crafts, and educational materials. My kids absolutely love it here -- there's always something new to explore, create, and learn. Restrooms are clean, staff is friendly, and the location is great. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, as well as a Whole Foods Market and other shops. Parking is also very convenient. It is in a nice shopping center on Glades Road, across from FAU University. The staff are always helpful. The cafe is very popular and very busy. I also love that they have plenty of tables to sit down and grab something to eat or drink. Plenty of books and other merchandise to browse or buy. Always something on sale or clearance as well.
