Our family absolutely loves Barnes & Noble -- this place is easily a 5-star favorite for us! My kids have basically grown up here, and it truly feels like a second home. It's two floors of pure enjoyment. On the first floor, there's a Starbucks, which adds such a cozy touch -- you can grab a coffee, matcha, or tea and just sit down with a book and relax. The store is very -- there's an elevator and escalators, making it easy with kids. The second floor has an amazing kids' section with books and toys. And not just any toys -- they're actually high-quality, unique, and very thoughtfully curated. There are also areas where kids can play, and even a small stage where they host storytime on certain days -- such a magical experience for little ones. Everything is always clean and comfortable. I especially love the carpeted floors -- it makes it so easy to just sit down anywhere, even on the floor, with a book and your coffee and enjoy the moment. The book selection is huge, including lots of activity books, crafts, and educational materials. My kids absolutely love it here -- there's always something new to explore, create, and learn. Restrooms are clean, staff is friendly, and the location is great. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, as well as a Whole Foods Market and other shops. Parking is also very convenient. I first began going to this bookstore about 25 years ago when I moved to Boca Raton. It had a great story time in their upstairs children's section. Both my daughter and I loved it. It is in a nice shopping center on Glades Road, across from FAU University. The staff are always helpful. The cafe is very popular and very busy. I also love that they have plenty of tables to sit down and grab something to eat or drink. Plenty of books and other merchandise to browse or buy. This business is a sad representation of what it used to be. Bare minimum staff. Most not knowledgable enough to answer the simplest of specific questions. I walked through the entire second floor and not one employee present. Not. One. The AC was barely working on the second level. Remember, air rises and thus it's always warmer up there if you don't have a two zones system. Oh the down escalator was broken. They have an elevator which is hidden on the west side of the building. I mean hidden. Books are outrageously expensive. I was looking for science related books for a 12 year old who told me when I inquired what her favorite class was at school "science". When I asked why she replied "cause of the experiments". So I wanted to find books with some nexus. Could not find. No one could tell me anything except one employee who said I should look in the adult section. Huh for a 12 year old? So, I went on to Amazon and in less than 5 minutes found at least a dozen books which met my criteria. All available to be received following day between 7-11am. And two this afternoon. All highly discounted. Note, not one I said not one dispenser for that stuff you squirt on your hands to kill them germs. Or at least 99.9% of them. And everyone is handling the books. And you handle the books. And then you cannot clean your hands when you're walking out? Yes Covid is in the rear view mirror but what about all the other bacteria? I love the anticipation of starting a new book. Once in a while I bring my tablet to work to read on my lunch break. There are times I simply can't put the book down. This may or may not have caused me to be late for work a few times. I'm not saying it did, but it could be possible. My addiction to books started when I was a kid. Not only did I read the entire Nancy Drew series, I read it twice and don't even get me started on my Judy Blume books. I read "Are you there God? It's me Margaret" at least three times. Did you read the Little Women series? If not, it's never to late to start a book, at any age. To this day, I am an avid reader. Are there nights I rather stay home with a good book than go out? Absolutely. So here's the thing, I havnt stepped foot into a book store in a few years. My kindle app is basically my 24 hour book store. Of course I don't get the experience of holding an actual book or turning the pages, but for me it works. I was in the plaza and I decided to pop in and look around. It was cool walking up and down the isles, but the seating was limited. Back in the day, I could spend hours at this store. The store is understaffed. The people working seem to be overwhelmed. I was considering looking at & possibly purchasing a Nook. Unfortunately, there were no available associates to help me or answer my questions. I spent about 45 minutes in the store and I was not acknowledged by any employees. I didn't see that many on the floor to begin with. Customer service was non existent. If I walked out, I wonder how many others did the same. I did look at a few books that looked interesting, but with only one available register open, I wasn't going to wait. I did purchase the book I wanted for a much lower price on my Kindle app. Less aggravation and just so much easier. I miss shopping in real bookstores but they are not what they used to be and I find that to be very sad. I wound up in the cafe and had the most delicious hot pretzel that was stuffed with spinach and feta cheese. It was very good and a nice surprise too. The hours are Sunday-Thursday from 9am to 10pm and Friday and Saturday from 9am to 11pm. They are located on Glades Road, just one block east of 95 in the University Commons shopping center. It's the same plaza as Whole Foods and Bed, Bath & Beyond. Three stars because they had a large selection of books, the store was clean and organized and the pretzel was amazing! I will circle back in a few months to see if the service has improved. For now, it's just me and my Kindle and that works for me. read more

I'm someone who prefers paper books over digital books and I love book stores. My kids enjoy coming here too, to look at books and of course the toys (there is a great educational toy selection for all ages). We are definitely fortunate to have a B&N location in our own city. I was pleasantly surprised by how great the children's story time was. Not crowded at all. They have it every Saturday at 11:00. There was no singing like at the library, but both of my kids (four and two) were really into the featured books. Brian the story teller was so much fun and engaging. We will definitely be back again. We usually come in the mornings so there isn't too much traffic, but the check out line does get congested sometimes and they usually only have one register open. I've seen them open the second one a few times, when the first is seriously stalled by a customer who isn't just paying for merchandise. Every time I go to Whole Foods in the same shopping center (which is weekly) my kids beg me to take them to B&N too. I really appreciate this location of Barnes and Noble. It is conveniently located right on Glades Road. It's in a nice plaza of shops and restaurants. You can really spend a few good hours there. They have a decent sized Starbucks within the facility. The Starbucks area has a good amount of tables and chairs to enjoy your coffee and read your new book which you got from Barnes and Noble. It has been a hot minute since I went to a bookstore. There is something so humbling and calming about being in a store full of books. Barnes and Noble has been a part of my life since I can remember. The store is very clean and bright. The bathrooms were pretty gross though. They have a Starbucks cafe, which is nice. They also have a pretty large music section. If you go in an off time, the parking isn't too bad. Because it's such a busy shopping center, parking can be really obnoxious. I went after dinner one night to browse the art section. They have a good stock of books, but the prices are outrageous. I found all the books I was interested in on Amazon for a solid $10+ less. I ended up buying a drawing journal because they didn't have it online. It's a shame but not a mystery why bookstores are closing. They need to lower their prices to keep up. read more

Many a time, it seems most people here are hanging at the Starbucks in the store reading the current magazines (not buying them, just reading them). Weekdays from roughly 3-6 pm this place is over-run with Boca High students after school. And I know it's not a library, but they can be obnoxiously loud at times. I love the atmosphere at this place! Walking in, you can smell the fresh scent of pages from the thousands of books they have. Two floors are filled with tons of books to feast your eyes upon. They have many many genres: self-improvement, cooking, health, non-fiction, science fiction, magazines, and much more. They also have a section with discounted books, perfect for coffee table decorations/additions! They also have a small section for office supplies/goods. For example, night lights for reading, laptop pillow, book shelf holders, and others. The magazine section is very extensive, you will definitely find what you are looking for. They also have a Starbucks spin off (not really the real thing), but good for some coffee while you are reading. The space for sitting in front of the coffee shop gets taken up pretty quickly. Barnes & Noble continues to be a magical place to shop. They have a quite extensive magazine department right next to their snack bar. As a member, I am entitled to receive a free beverage every month but sometimes it is an exercise in futility to get what I am supposed to receive. I still don't receive e-mails with discounts on books monthly as I am supposed to. But on a more positive note, Barnes & Noble has many high quality Italian journals to choose from. Sadly,they have cut back on the number of music books that they carry. They used to be the go-to place to find Daily One Page to a Day Journals, which are such a wonderful way to keep track of your activities and appointments. But no more. As with so many other things, the only place to find them is on-line. And they wonder why customers don't support local businesses. I still try to shop at Barnes & Noble, mainly because it is such a lovely place and I love books. Where else can you go to find the extensive selection of high quality books, even if they have many flaws? The discount section has some wonderful deals on books of many different interests and I hope Barnes & Noble can find a way to compete with on-line book stores. It is so nice to be able to peruse whatever subject you are looking for and find a great treasure of a book that you didn't even know existed. I've been meaning to write a really nice review about this book store. I've been coming here to study a lot and every time I am greeted with such welcoming smiles. The staff in the cafe are super sweet. I spend at least 4-5 hours of study time here and they are always attentive if I need anything. Even tonight as everyone is shopping and the store is busy, the staff remained friendly. The store is huge. It's always clean and it's so convenient since it's down the street from FAU, which has an amazing library. WholeFood is right next door making it easy to take a break for a healthy salad. I came to browse some novels at my local Barnes and nobles. The store is a little. Disorganized for my taste So I went to the customer service table in the middle. The girl helping me , Grace , had an extremely poor attitude... I saw her roll her eyes when I was being nothing but amicable and patient . Her tone of voice was completely rude....... Whilst sitting in their cafe (the tables wobble) I heard her complaining about other patrons to one of the other girls working there. It was very unwelcoming to overhear. Stopped here for my monthly fixin' of new reads, I was surprised to see that masks and hand hygiene weren't necessarily enforced in-store, considering the various touchpoints with guests reading books, touching shelves etc. The store is visibly clean, but again, I didn't witness any staff cleaning/disinfecting etc. Some staff wore masks, others [by assumption are vaccinated] did not. They had a great stock and availability of most books, except a few I was looking for. But the staff were friendly and eager to help me search the shelves. Despite their system saying they had a particular book in stock, we couldn't find it on the shelves, so the employee explained - "the book could either be misplaced because we haven't alphabetized our shelves, or stolen, sorry." Call me old-fashioned, but I love actual books. Reading on a tablet screen just isn't the same as flipping through real pages. So when I'm itching for a new book to lose myself in for a day or two, I head here. I worked in the cafe at this location as a summer job when I was in college, and I still prefer this location to other B&Ns in the area. It's one of the largest, and it's always well-stocked. I know my way around pretty well, but when I've had to ask the customer service desk for help, they've almost always been able to find what I need. However, sometimes they get a bit overwhelmed if there's only one person behind the desk. The cafe gets a lot of traffic... when I worked there, people would line up outside waiting for us to open... even though there's a Starbucks a quarter of a mile away. I can tell you first-hand they keep everything super clean back there (I ruined several nice pairs of black pants due to bleach stains). The one gripe I have with this place (and every other B&N) is the lack of chairs. I know it's not a library, and they want you to, you know, BUY the books instead of sitting around reading them... but still, I like to read a few pages before committing to purchasing something. They used to have more chairs here, but they've gotten rid of most of them, including the FAU reading room section upstairs. read more

I've been going to this Barnes and Noble since the first day it opened a decade ago. There is nothing to do in Boca after 9, so I love that it is open until 11 everyday. This place is really like a community center of sorts; I go here when I'm bored, to meet friends, to study, or sometimes to just have a hot drink. It is definitely getting harder to study here though. They have removed all the tables and most of the plush chairs on the second floor, so you can only study in the Starbucks area. The tables are in high demand all the time, so if you have an appointment, it's best to come ten minutes early and watch the area like a vulture. Also, avoid the place from 3-5; it is overrun by packs of teenagers in skinny jeans and choppy haircuts. They are soo annoying and loud, and there are cops everywhere so it is hard to enjoy anything. Another negative is that the bathrooms are atrocious; so go to bed bath and beyond or whole foods to do your work (of course, buy stuff from them too.) Regardless of these minor complaints, it is one of my favorite places in the world, no exaggeration, when I went abroad, I really missed Bookstores like they have in America. read more

I just dislike how their Starbucks baristas are uninquisitive when it comes to ensuring their customers' orders/special requests are correct before preparing/ringing up the purchases. It is 2 stories, adult fiction literature is on the upper level on the north side, kiosks are found through out the inner corners of the building on both levels to help you find/figure out what book you want to read next. Since it is right next to the Boca Raton High School and they let their students out around 3pm. This place is a common loitering place for the high school kids which seem to plague the outside benches of B&N, sidewalks, parking lot, making it impossible to drive through. If you plan on coming here, do it way early in the day (and leave the lot before 3pm) or on the weekends. read more

I love B&N! There is literally something for everyone! Love their gift choices! Great collection of various subjects popular and not so popular! This location more uniquely has a cozy little FAU corner on the second floor. Great spot to meet and hang out with fellow FAU goers! Unlike a few other B&N's I've been too, this location has a well stocked magazine section which has what seems to be 97% of all magazines available.... pretty neat. And for the coffee lover: there is a Starbucks cafe which offers the usuals for your enjoyment in between reading :) read more

This B&N makes me feel warm on the inside. I remember walking into here years ago and it was the first one I ever saw that was two stories and at the time, thought it was the coolest thing ever. To this day, I still love this B&N with it's abundance of plush seats, books galore, lots of natural light and discounts if you have one of their savings cards. Plus, they have a Starbucks which pretty much solidified it as one of my favorite places ever (free wifi homies!) The location is just about perfect-located on Glades right off of I-95 and down the street from FAU so it definitely has a young vibe. They have rows upon rows of books that range from $5-7 and they're in great condition. The Barnes and Nobles brand has taken a big hit over the last few years since most people have gone digital and amazon has eaten Barnes and nobles lunch literally. But surprisingly this location of Barnes and nobles on the intersection of glades road and I-95 in Boca Raton has been able to survive and thrive. I guess location is everything in retail and these guys are squeezed in between Nordstrom and Whole Foods so they are still standing. This 2 story location has a cafe on the right side of the store and for book enthusiasts a few choices of different cakes and desserts while they are reading and enjoying the store ambiance. My favorite section has been moved to the second floor which is the travel section. On our recent visit we discovered that the travel section has zero books for Pakistan which just goes to show you why amazon is kicking them to the curb. But I guess they are trying as I did see some new stuff like the different Lego collections. read more

I thought I was the only person left who reads paperbacks. Thank goodness I appear to be wrong. The store was busy with other neanderthals like me looking to hold paper in our hands. The idea of an eReader sounds great but there's no better sleep aid than a good book on the nightstand. The selection here is huge and a decision is quite difficult. Where to begin? I like the bargain table first. You never know what hidden gem may be buried there. Probably not an authors most recent release but they can be good books and the gateway to more. After this table, I usually proceed to the new releases and then to checkup on my favorite authors for something I could have possibly missed. There is a method to my madness!
