This is a wonderful bookstore. It has an awesomely brilliant cross between nostalgia currently used items so it fits your modern needs. The best part of all is that they take back college textbooks and you can purchase used college textbooks at a discount price. It's hard to find a place like this nowadays so for all of the students out there this is your spot! I always get my books for school here because they have the best prices. I tried to go the Amazon route and half price website but ended up getting it at Booksmart because I like to walk out with my books and not have anxiety that they are in the mail. I tried the renting route for the first time and it's an even better price. You have to pay with a credit card because if you don't return it by the deadline (December 15) it's $5.00 a day and if it's damaged you have to add on the full amount of the text book. You can still do light highlight and light notes. You can't tear it or have water damage when you return it. Plus they are open late and I saw they had a flyer that students get 10% off if they buy books on Saturday. read more

I highly recommend this book store if you're a student! They carry the same books as the ones on campus at fau or pbs and for WAY CHEAPER! The customer service is ok but they have a good system going there that helps students print there schedules and get the books they need! They also sell fau and pbs clothes and hats and actually anything you would need for a semester. Binders, folders, agendas, pencils, calculators, iclickers, codes, etc. Pretty much anything regarding college they have and for cheaper! read more

I have shopped at Booksmart for years. While researching THE BRIDGE OF DEATHS, I found an extraordinary array of books related to WWII and pre WWII activities. The staff was so helpful; I am certain that many of the books I used and enjoyed were suggested by them. I now visit with my teen son; he tells them what he enjoys reading and they suggest similar material. Thanks to Booksmart my son is now a great fan of Michael Chrichton; it would have NEVER occurred to me to introduce 1970s Sci Fi to a 21 century kid. This bookstore is a gem in Boca Raton. I was informed that UPS had delivered a package to me and due to my being unable to make it to Booksmart after work and before they closed (where I was informed it was awaiting my retrieval) until quite a number of days before I could get a day off to get my package. I arrived late and they were already closed but Jack the son helped me out seeing how I was urgently expecting some medical data to be delivered to me. He allowed me access into the store and recruited the efforts of his dad Jim to help me locate the package. It wasnt the package I was waiting for that greeted me but another one ,less important. However the hospitality and warmth and understanding and patience that Jack displayed towards a stranger showing up in a darkened doorway with a plausible excuse left a definite mark upon me. As a former officer I am accustomed to a severe degree of distrust and general sense of indifference from people I come into contact with on a daily basis. But the genuine warmth and kindness displayed by the owners Jack and his dad Jim restored my faith in the basic kindness and generosity of people. These two gentlemen are indeed a rare find in a world smothered by callous and selfish people. Kindness indeed does create ripples and these two have inspired me to repay their kindness and consideration by copying their gentlemanly qualities. Thank you both. I will recommend this buisness to EVERYBODY. read more

Avoid this place at all costs. If you dont bring your book back on time you will not only get charged the cost of the rental but you will also have to pay the full price of the book on top of that. This was not explained well when I rented the book. When I spoke to Eric at Booksmart, I was very nice and respectful during our conversation. Unfortunately he must not have been trained very well in customer service because before he hung up the phone, he said I'm sorry you didn't listen." Well listen to this...I will never ever shop at Booksmart again. You need to train your people how to deal with customers. Worst customer service!! read more

Books are cheap, yes!! Definitely great prices for rental or buying books, But the customer service experience should be better. There is a lady that works in the store that needs better training.( A Shame that I don't have her name) Both times my daughter has gone to purchase and she helps out she has a big attitude and treats people rudely. Booksmart used to be a serious bookstore. Since the move to the new location, however, quality of service has declined. In the past, in the process of buying back textbooks, the bookseller was happy to search by ISBN. Today, however, the clerk (he doesn't deserve the title of bookseller) said, "if there's no barcode to scan, we can't buy it." I don't even think he knows what an ISBN is or how to find it on a book, let alone enter it into the computer. But he's full of himself so I guess to him that's all that matters. read more

Used to buy/sell books at this place all the time when I was in college. The staff really makes all the difference! Unlike the rude work-study kids who staff the University Bookstore, this place actually knows what they're talking about and wants to help! Try and beat the rush when the semester starts and ends but its definitely worth waiting in line here than the bookstore. read more

Have used them for the past few semesters and I can honestly say I have been pretty satisfied until my last couple experiences with getting books there this semester. I was talking to a lady about a return and this guy walks over and starts chiming in being very rude. He was being very condescending and I asked if thats the way he talks to customers. He told me that he was no longer talking to me, which was good considering I wasn't talking to him in the first place. Not coming back here until they can find a helpful staff that knows what there talking about and don't act like there better than you making $9 dollars an hour. read more

Unfortunately, the service I received was one of the worst I have ever experienced. The employee was very rude...he hesitated to answer a very simple question, rattled off a an incomprehensible response in less than 2 seconds, and when asked to repeat, stated that he would not...ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Smart businesses recognize superior customer service as the key to continued success. I will not patronize this business again, and will be sure to share my experience with the company that referred me. read more

Terrible customer service. Both the manager and owner are rude and incompetent. Recently I went to purchase a book when the sales associate (who turned out to be the manager) inquired why I was not buying all my books from Booksmart. When I responded I got them elsewhere (I can buy/rent them online at 1/4 of the price), he instantly struck an attitude and told me he "would let my teacher know they would no longer be carrying his books". I ignored the hostility, however, the next day my professor actually asked me about the incident at the bookstore! Not only was the manager rude and intrusive to me in the store, but he went as far as to try to put in a negative word to my teacher about me for simply saving money. Disturbed by the managers actions, I went in to speak with the owner. I went in a week later, very calm and polite; the owner refused to let me speak, cutting me off before I could even finish telling him about the incident and repeatedly kept telling me I need to understand that they are a business and they have not sold many books for my particular class. I understand business, but I also understand customer service. Trying to strong arm people or make them feel guilty for saving money is not going to help sales; I was extremely dissatisfied with my experience. this place seriously sucks, the return policy is the worst they only give you a couple days to return a book, so if you decided to drop out of a class you're pretty much stuck with the book. the "buy back" policy is horrible, I bought a book there and they would only give me 3 dollars to buy the book back when the book was originally 70 dollars. i don't recommend this place at all, the people that work there make you feel like you are bothering them and wasting their time, save yourself money and time and go on chegg instead. read more
