This was an interesting store. It's located in the same shopping center as the Wings Plus. We walked over to browse after having lunch. The store is a used bookstore perfectly located across the street from the college. It specializes in selling (and buying) textbooks for the college courses offered nearby. In addition to the textbooks, they carry non-fiction and fiction books (mystery, sci-fi, romance, etc.). The non-texts on the shelves are neatly arranged by category and alphabetically by author. In addition to books, they have some quick study guides, lab coats, and notebook binders, among other things that a student might find useful. Oh, and they even had a section of children's books, too. After browsing a bit through the titles just to make sure we hadn't missed anything, we left without buying anything. But we were glad we'd stopped in to see what they have so we'd know. read more

Back in school again!!! I decided to take one course this semester. I'm one of those learners that needs a hard copy book from the bookstore and not a virtual online version. For example some courses the books are way more expensive if they are book version. But the class I was taking was only $10 difference between virtual and loose page version. The employees was very helpful and showed me where it was located. The line had 5 people infront me and took a long time getting checked out. Wished they had check out service or something else. But the employees are nice. Yes getting materials are expensive but spending money on bettering your life is sometimes needed. Overall a good experience. read more

I seriously don't understand how the same rude people are employed here. I can recall the first time I came to get books for school over a year ago. I knew the classes I was taking & names of my professors but wasn't sure exactly which versions/authors of the books I needed. They seemed a little irritated they had to do a computer look-up for ONE book I was unsure of. I got a very condescending attitude, and in general, the notion that they like to make people feel dumb.. Every time I come here, staff is rude. My husband turned in a book recently that was damaged when he received it & they charged him $45. Make sure you inspect the books you rent before leaving the store because they will charge you for damage--regardless if you caused it or not--when you bring it back. If you have ample (at least a week) time before class starts, I would recommend renting books from Amazon instead. It's just as cheap, sometimes cheaper, and they ship right to your door-minus crappy attitudes. Save yourself the frustration. read more

Booksmart, probably the best store in the world for school books. I needed two books for school, I ordered the books the night before and they where ready to be picked on the next morning. And the pickup process was no hassle at all. I bought a used book and it came in decent shape, no ripped pages or anything but you can sell that people used it before. These school books that you get from Booksmart are at discounted priced, I don't know the exact percentage but I would rather pay $60 for a used book then $150 or so from the school library. Best of all, this store is less literally across the street from Palm Beach State College. There is also a Wendy's and a few other small restaurants in the plaza. I will be using this store more often now. School books at the library are stupidly expensive. The only flaw about Booksmart is the selling back prices. I wanted to sell a book here back to them, a book that cost me $12 and they wanted $1 for it. Really? Note: You can either buy or do a rental of used books. Buying is a little bit more expensive then doing rental if you want to go that route. read more

There are so few bookstores left anymore that a used bookstore always makes me smile. But this one stocks a lot of great books that my sons have needed for their classes from middle to high school and now even in college. Now that I have a granddaughter, I appreciate the ability to buy children's classics here --saving them from landfills and giving them new life in her growing library. I'm not looking for the employees to become my new best friends. I want them ring me up accurately and in a timely fashion and I've never had an issue with any of them doing that. One or two has even brought me straight to a book I was looking for. What more do I want? Long live the mighty bookstore. read more

If i could give it less i would. I originally thought Booksmart was decent, until a few days ago. Let me start with the good: Their rental prices are decent The bad: Their customer service is embarrassing. All those books on business and customer service I would think they could take notes. Lemme explain.. I went on a Friday to pick up my textbooks for classes. On Saturday i realized i accidentally rented a text book for a course i was planning to take next semester. (Accidentally had the ISBN number with all my other textbooks.) That mess up on my part but i figured no big deal I'm sure they will take care of me on Monday, but they were closed for a holiday.. No biggie once again.. Went again on Tuesday before class and witnessed the worst case of customer service between the employee (a bitter older lady) talking down to the customer like he was stupid.. I brushed it off with a "good morning" and explained my situation and asked if not a refund for store credit to buy supplies and what not. She told be the return day was on the 13th of the month.. But i bought it on the 15th.. After she showed no care in the world I decided to return my rental and never give them my business again.. $35 rental not even an oh im sorry sir... I don't understand, all i know is if you don't want to be at least friendly, don't be in retail or customer service.. Ive worked in retail 5 years, now as a supervisor and do anything i can to help my customers because i know what it is to be the customer! At least with Chegg.com when anything silly happens they will happily offer you a refund.. Stay away from this place!!!! read more

Unlike most negative reviews, the people were very nice and funny. I was worried they'd give bad service but they were actually helpful.

Horrible place do NOT buy/rent from here they fuvking suck. I rented a book in which I never touched and it stayed inside a locker for months and when I went to return the book they charged me for the already defacing done on the book. They will find any reason to charge you extra. Also the lady who attended me was very rude. Their costumer service is a joke. read more
