I never knew this one existed and I'll tell you why... they don't allow pictures to be taken in here. So for reviewers such as myself who wish to show off their shelves of different authors or genres for other bibliophiles to see, that's not going to happen here. I was able to take a single photo of the book I purchased only. Obviously, I prefer the other bookstore because they made me feel more welcome. The customer service in this one was ok as well but let's face it, I am an African American Woman, and this IS Palm Beach so was I surprised that I was watched like a hawk? Nah. I will say this though... if you can't find whatever book you are looking for here try the Classic Bookshop located further down the way. Respectfully Reviewed.

Raptis Rare Books specializes in rare, antique, and first edition books. As a young child, Matt Raptis had a deep love of history which led him into a future career of collecting and selling rare books. In 2016 Matt and Adrienne Raptis moved from Vermont to open their rare book business on Worth Avenue. In 2021 they moved to the gallery space they currently occupy on Worth Avenue next in Via Roma and in 2022, Raptis Rare Books purchased The Harcourt Bindery, the oldest and largest book bindery in the United States. The couple once purchased for $1 a signed first edition of "Catcher in the Rye" near author J.D. Salinger's home which they sold for $80,000. Other rare books that have been in their collection include an original 1859 copy of Charles Darwin "The Origin of Species" and an original printing of "The Cat in the Hat" inscribed by Dr. Seuss. Books in their collection have influenced generations and shaped history and culture. The books here are worth thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars. In addition to selling individual books the couple will consult with rare book collectors to help them to build their libraries. In an increasingly digital age it is nice to see that books are still valued in our society.

The store is a used bookstore perfectly located across the street from the college. It specializes in selling (and buying) textbooks for the college courses offered nearby. In addition to the textbooks, they carry non-fiction and fiction books (mystery, sci-fi, romance, etc.). The non-texts on the shelves are neatly arranged by category and alphabetically by author. In addition to books, they have some quick study guides, lab coats, and notebook binders, among other things that a student might find useful. Oh, and they even had a section of children's books, too. After browsing a bit through the titles just to make sure we hadn't missed anything, we left without buying anything. But we were glad we'd stopped in to see what they have so we'd know.

The employees was very helpful and showed me where it was located. The line had 5 people infront me and took a long time getting checked out. Wished they had check out service or something else. But the employees are nice. Yes getting materials are expensive but spending money on bettering your life is sometimes needed. Overall a good experience.
