The ingredients actually tasted fresh, especially the avocado, and I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the fried egg, but it worked surprisingly well. Add the Witchside sauce and everything came together better than I expected. It was also big enough that I eventually gave up trying to eat it like a civilized human being and finished it with a fork. No shame. Both of my kids ordered the fried shrimp platters and absolutely demolished them. That's usually the best review you're going to get from kids. Not a single complaint, no leftovers, and they were still talking about how good the shrimp was afterward. The menu has plenty of options, the food came out fresh, and the whole place has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Salem has no shortage of places competing for your attention, but Witchside Tavern is one I'd happily come back to.
