I had a food delivery today 5/26. The food was very good; however , the delivery driver was as slow as a plant tropism He was finding his way as a root finds water ( not rapidly) That delivery man looked quite familiar. Unless he amended his appearance, he looked very much like a fellow I've seen in coffee shops locally. It might be just my mistake. My memory might be failing. Also roots can be like people. They get old, blighted and seek deeper ground.. The portions of food are quite generous to their credit. We have enough for two days. I don't think I'll order from Pete's again . Wow! I can't believe I had never eaten here before. With my family now vaccinated against Covid, we can visit in Peabody. We have dined together 3 times so far this summer. That's more than the past 2 years put together. All three times, we have gotten food from Pete's A Place! And we'll probably go there next weekend too! Everything at Pete's is delicious. We have tried the pizza, subs, salads, and my favorite- the roast beef! All meals are overflowing with quality ingredients. You can order one meal and have enough food to eat for 2-3 meals. Great location being next to corkscrew liquors so I figured I'd give them a shot. Ordered a large pepperoni pizza and the chicken kabob wrap for pick up. Food was ready in 15min and hot when I arrived. Pepperoni pizza 2/5: Crust had more of a buttery, cakey, taste rather than a bready, yeasty, flavor. Red sauce was terrible, no notes of basil and it didn't pop with fresh tomato taste, just a sweetish/sour note that I wasn't a fan of. Cheese was simply average mozzarella and the pepperoni lacked spice... Chicken kabob 4/5: Great recommendation by other user! Lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and crispy. Chicken was good quality and had great grilled char flavor. Caesar dressing tasted good too and rounded out the flavor profile nicely. Their chicken kabob wrap is solid and the food isn't bad. Just pizza isn't my style and I'm unsure how anyone could get excited about it. There are much better options for pizza in the area like Frankie's and flying saucer IMO. read more

Few weeks ago I ordered a Broccoli Chicken Alfredo Pasta, which was terrible made and nasty taste, we couldn't eat the pasta, just pick the chicken and the broccoli . See images please! Call today to talk to the manager, and when I told him the order was placed some time ago he stared laughing telling me so you call this long after? He so disrespectful! I said, yes! My fiancé raved to me about this place after visiting it during the day at work, so we decided to visit for dinner and get some "famous steak tips". We came from Lowell, so we had a 30 minute drive ahead of us... my fiancé called to place our order and was put on hold (which was just putting the phone down) and listened to the girl take three other peoples orders before we hung up and tried again. We spent just about $40 on two steak tip and rice plates, a waffle fry with bacon and cheese, and 2 cokes. The only thing that I'd say was worth it was the fries! Not sure if it is a Massachusetts thing when it comes to pizza - but the pizza is GROSS - sauce, lopped on flat cheese and some sort of bread with a foul smell. The food is ok at best, the best thing this place has to offer might be the steak tip sub with their special sauce, other than that the managers are generally bad attitude and rude at times, they put on a fake smile which just makes it worse. The people at the front try to be nice and thats appreciated however when it's the managers i really don't feel comfortable. Almost everyone there isn't from this country and as an immigrant myself I know when someone is working hard because they have no other place to make money, and thats easily the case here so I feel bad for them. This Business is super shady. I ordered a sub at was $8.49 and a small chicken wings for $7.89 they told me that is cost $27.35 around that price. How does that add up? This review is long overdue. Having lived in downtown Peabody for numerous years, I've consumed dozens of Pete's-a-Place's chicken kabob wrap. Having moved away, I still stop by whenever I'm in the area for lunch. Pete's-a-Place deserves this 5 star review solely for their Chicken Kabob Wrap. It's as close as you can get to a "perfect dish". A warm, slight toasted flour tortilla is filled with (always fresh) lettuce and tomatoes for the perfect crunch, perfectly cooked and seasoned chicken and then finished with their homemade Greek dressing and lots of Feta. I highly recommend anyone who likes a kabob wrap try this place. It's by far the best chicken kabob wrap I've ever had! read more

Place was ok. I got a strak tips wrap and for some unknown reason the meat was cooked in a sweet asian sauce ( something like teriyaki) without being mentioned on the menu. I ended up being slightly allergic to it too. Not a big deal but I would recommend mentioning stuff like that on the menu. The meat was cooked perfectly medium rare just like requested. Pepperoni pizza slices were extremely greasy and took 6 napkins to remove the excessive oil. I found the place very spacious and nice to sit in. I ordered a steak bomb at the Peabody location as my usual go to places were closed ! I've had a few of their subs before and they have been decent! This was one of the worst tasting steak bombs I have ever had! They use some sort of Taco like seasoning on the meat and I didn't care for it and there was hardly any to zero cheese on the sub ! On a positive note The bread was good ! Decided to get pizza take out and try this Pete's location after having a great pizza from the Danver's location a few weeks ago. They have a very similar menu and instead of the Danver's Special had their own take as the Peabody's Special. Ordering online instead of over the phone I liked seeing all of the options. In this case, no onions and extra chicken which made a big difference. I did prefer the Danver's pizza over this but it was very good. Nice price for a small. Plenty of parking. They should make it a bit more clear on the door that they don't want you to go in at all (understandable!). I'm not sure how they would know you were there for pick up if you ordered online if you don't go in. Would definitely get another pizza from both stores - great quality. read more

God forbid you tell anybody working there that your order was not right. They stare at you with dagger eyes just because I said I didn't ask for onions on my pepper steak. These people didn't even blink and they all stared at me like I just committed a horrible act just for saying I didn't ask for onions. One of my wife and I's go-to place for pizza in the Peabody Square area. The pizza is delicious and we love the sides. The staff are always pleasant and worm pretty fast. We like getting Ricotta Pizza, the little dolops of ricotta give an alternating rich bite with splendid bites of mozzarella from the pizza. I never order from here for myself, but my friends are die-hard fans so I often get caught up in their Pete's A Place wake and find myself face-deep in a buffalo chicken pizza, or mozzarella sticks, or fries, or some other golden delicious artery killers. Love that the pizza sauce is a tad sweet. It's that perfect, small-town pizza with just-right crispy crust and the ideal amount of cheese. It's like 3-Star in Beverly, but maybe even better. Honestly I can't even remember what else I've had from here, but I know I've never NOT enjoyed something from PAP, so there you have it! I'm actually shocked to see any bad reviews on here. i moved to Peabody a couple years ago and this is one of the first close by places i tried, needless to say Ive been back a million times. I even have a friend who lives in Beverly who drives down here just for their steak tip sub or steak tip calzone. They have the best steak tips, they are marinated and absolutely delicious. Their pizza is really good, its semi crunchy crust and a good layering of cheese, my favorite style. Their calzones are also very good. There is online ordering on their website which has always worked flawless for me and is very convenient. This is the only pizza place I will go to in Peabody. All the other pizza places are overpriced, skimp on toppings, & use Chef Boyardee for their pizza sauce. And I won't even talk about Domino's. We used to go to Salem to get pizza until this place opened up. I think we've had virtually all the pizzas (including the Brazilian ones) and calzones. The calzones are awesome! The large is humongous, it could easily feed six plus people, so we usually order a medium or a small (I don't like too many leftovers--way too much temptation.) The pizzas are fantastic too. They have a perfect crust, not too crispy, lots of toppings, and their pizzas aren't that greasy. I've haven't tried too many of the other dishes except for a few of the subs. The subs are average sized (about 8-10 inches) and they are very good too. Unfortunately they don't have free delivery, so we call ahead and pick it up. The parking lot is itty bitty and it's on a busy street so it can be interesting getting in and out of there. The restaurant itself is nothing fancy, but it's clean and the cashiers are really friendly. One time I ordered a pizza that had long disappeared from their menu and they made it for me anyway without batting an eyelash. I noticed it seems to take longer to order in than call and pick up, but that's the only minus. Probably my favorite pizza is the Peabody Special, because it's loaded with toppings. My husband's is the chicken kabob. The kids rave over their cheese pizza. My favorite calzone is the steak bomb & my husband's is the buffalo chicken. I'm not a fan of the new steak & chicken fajita pizzas because they are too spicy for me. They probably would be good if the heat was turned down about ten notches. But anybody who doesn't mind that sort of thing would probably love them. read more

The parking lot is a bit of a mess, seeing as it seems to be a pretty hot spot for lunch, also because of this, I had to wait a little longer than anticipated, but it was well worth the wait. This visit, I got a chicken cesar salad. The price was right, the portion was great, the chicken tastes amazing. Also served with a pita. They followed my directions, dressing on the side (which seems to be difficult for some other restaurants.) Went here with the hubby after shopping at the Northshore Mall a few weekends ago. Petes-A-Place is literally right down the street from the mall! I mainly went here because I love the show "Flipping Boston" and I know one of the hosts, Pete, owns it. I also LOVE Greek style pizza. I'm sad to report that we were underwhelmed. We got a small pizza, plain tuna sub, sm. chicken finger, sm. mozzarella stick and a sm. fry. PIZZA: The small pizza was good, the sauce was sweeter than I'm used too, it was more of an Italian style sauce in my opinion (which made my husband like it more - he hates Greek style pizza). TUNA SUB: The tuna sub was not good. The tuna had zero flavor to it, so bland and disappointing, I ended up throwing the other half away. I love tuna but I would never get that again. (minus one star). CHICKEN FINGER & FRIES: The chicken fingers & the fries were good, we both liked those, good flavor in both. We'd get them again. MOZZARELLA STICKS: The mozzarella sticks were overly chewy. 'Mushy' is the word my husband used to describe the texture. (minus one star). This is not the restaurant they renovated on the show, it looks like it might be due for some updates (one of the boards hanging near the counter still says 'happy holidays'...), but overall the restaurant looked clean. We were waiting at the counter for a few minutes before we were acknowledged (the guy was on the phone) so I had time to look back into the kitchen, and that looked very clean as well. It was VERY busy when got there, the guy at the front eventually put his next call on hold and said he had "every line holding right now" and seemed really stressed out, was not friendly at all. He ran our credit card quickly and then picked up the phone again, we didn't get a "thanks for coming" or "have a good day", he barely made eye contact with us.... I understand you're busy, but we're paying customers and I don't think that's asking a lot, it was just rude. (minus one star) I hate having to write a bad review, especially when I'm such a fan of the owners TV show, but I always keep my reviews honest, so there you go.
